After school in Nino's bedroom, Adrien was pacing the floor.
"I should have been there! Ladybug and I are supposed to be partners, which mean we should have fought Monarch together!" Adrien said.
"There was no way of knowing your father would be there, and I bet being a prisoner makes you not think clearly."
"It doesn't matter, I'm still going to be living with 'what if?'"
Nino thought Adrien was better off without Gabriel Agreste in his life, but he knew Adrien would not see it that way.
"I want to talk to Ladybug again, as Adrien."
"After the next akuma attack, I will distract Ladybug while you de-transform."
Close to the ceiling, Plagg and Wayzz were whispering to each other.
"How can I not remember who Monarch was?" Plagg said.
"It's the doing of the Guardian, Ladybug," Wayzz said. "Before giving us to our holders, she ordered us to forget, and it works because nobody remembers who he was. All the kwamis have had their holders ask them about what happened when they were Monarch's prisoner and Gabriel died. I remember everything that happened, when I try to picture the faces of Monarch and his dead wife that he wanted to bring back, it's a blur, literally."
"Why is she being so secretive? I also don't understand why Gabriel would try to stop Monarch; Gabriel was a terrible person. Something is fishy."
