Scientist wreck-heads

Summary:

Incredibly dumb rambling character study on how Jayce and Viktor are both morons that can't function. I love them your honour.

Work Text:

Well that wasn't quite fair, both of them were insane though in opposite yet complimentary manners. Viktor seemed so grounded, cool and collected. He was an introvert, a deeply logical type. It was only once you had a few conversations with him, at some godforsaken hour after a few too many coffees, that you realised all too late this man was utterly unstable.

One moment he's quite plainly describing his latest invention to you, and the next he is gesturing manically, wild behind the eyes and telling you about some theoretical concept that proves not only that god exists but that you can kill him, and you're sat there nodding along while your eyes drift to the nearest exit and you're questioning your knowledge of morse code in order to somehow signal for aid.

Jayce, is the opposite.

Jayce, on the outside, will pin you against a wall and very enthusically insist that magic is real, and that he's going to change the world, and you assume this man needs help. Or anti-psychotics, or counselling, anything really. His head well and truly in the clouds, and he's not afraid to tell everyone what he sees up there.

But lord his are feet planted firmly on the ground. You see, Jayce will lay out the most detailed and airtight plan about how exactly he can and will save the world, and it's so foolproof you can't help but believe him and come to the conclusion he is an actual angel. Jayce is someone you can leave your pet with over the weekend, Jayce can be trusted with your kids, Jayce could keep a houseplant alive for a solid 8 months (a feat surely.)

And sure, he'll forget to drink water for sixteen hours and then wonder why his head hurts, but by God is everything else well taken care of, because you see Jayce can be trusted with anything except himself. Viktor you can trust with nothing, he will kill your plants clone your pet and have your children operating heavy machinery. The children will love it yes, but they are Not Safe. Put them together, though, and you're houseplants will be cloned and flourishing, the pets will be operating machinery (under full safety regulations) and possibly able to cook you dinner, and the children will be well versed in advanced physics (they may know a few new czech swears but it's all swings and roundabouts).

So you see, they cannot be separated. Jayce will forget how to feed himself and Viktor will slowly divulge into mad scientist territory. No. For the sake of everyone but most importantly for themselves, Jayce and Viktor remain partners.
