“Hyung- I said I was sorry!” Namjoon whines as he practically chases Seokjin down the hallway leading away from his apartment. He reaches out to touch the other boy’s shoulder, but the moment his hand makes contact, he immediately regrets it; the elder throws a withering glare over his shoulder that has Namjoon shrinking back again.
“Kim Namjoon, if you touch me again I promise I’ll snap your fingers in half,” Seokjin hisses as he pauses in the middle of the hallway. He’s only made it halfway to the elevator since he’d stormed out, but that doesn’t mean he won’t make the other half in due time.
“But hyung…” the pink-haired male draws out the G and makes a pathetic set of puppy-dog eyes at his boyfriend.
Jin crosses his arms, “Stop it, Namjoon.”
“I thought it was Joonie,” the other tries with a grin. Seokjin glares at him again and suddenly, the boy is stalking towards him.
Seokjin may be shorter of the two- albeit only by an inch- but that doesn’t stop him from backing his boyfriend up against the wall as he jabs his index finger against his chest accusingly.
“Keep trying your luck with me like that and I swear Namjoon-”
“Yah!” a sudden shout has both boys jumping, and Seokjin breaks away from terrorizing the younger. “What the hell are you doing? You know it’s one o'clock in the morning, right?”
As terrifying as the loud voice alludes to be, when Namjoon finally looks at the source he’s surprised to find it’s his neighbour Yoongi. The older boy is hardly scary as angry as he is; in fact, with his mussed up green hair and Kumamon slippers, he looks mildly grumpy at best.
“He blue-shelled me on our date!” Seokjin cries out in defense and Namjoon chokes back a snort. Even from across the hall, he can basically see Yoongi mentally facepalm.
There’s a beat of silence in which Seokjin remains red faced and glaring accusingly at Namjoon, while the latter simply watches Yoongi blink in sheer astonishment.
“I-” Yoongi finally speaks, “I can’t. I literally cannot deal with this shit,” he says, hands thrown up and then he’s gone; grumbling under his breath ( fucking idiots arguing about goddamn Mario in the middle of the night ) and slamming his apartment door on his way out.
Namjoon stares after the strange boy and in front of him, Seokjin shoves him back into the wall. There’s no bite in the action through and Jin leaves his hand on his shoulder afterwards.
“You-” he begins, but laughs weakly in spite of himself and has to stop. “You didn’t even win Joonie,” the elder laughs then; truly laughs.
“Huh?” Jin is nearly in hysterics now, almost doubling over and Namjoon is at a loss as to what’s so funny.
“You fucking blue-shelled on our date and you didn’t even win; one of the damn CPUs did,” Jin explains through his giggles, all previous malice gone. “We were on the same team!”
And yeah, maybe Namjoon knows that it probably wasn’t a great idea to mess with his Mario-obsessed boyfriend’s karting style (can secretly admit he might have been downright terrified the moment he realized what he’d done), but now that Seokjin is a lot less angry and a lot more giggly, he finds himself able to laugh too. So he does.
He leans forward to rest his head on Jin’s shoulder while the brunet clings to him as well, and both boys are laughing. Somehow, they find themselves sinking to the floor while they continue to bask in their mirth, and eventually, Namjoon isn’t even sure if they’re still cackling about Mariokart.
“For the love of God, please shut the fuck up!” Yoongi suddenly yells through the door and yeah, now Namjoon is positive that when they begin laughing again, it’s not about video games.
When he looks at Seokjin though, eyes shining wetly and face scrunched up into a gummy grin as he threads his fingers with the younger's, Namjoon can’t say he minds much.
(Though he is definitely going to have to buy Yoongi-hyung a coffee as apology this week. Whatever though; as long as Jin’s happy and content to sit here with Namjoon, he can’t say it’s all that bad a trade off.)
