Interrogation
“You can't just keep us in here for questioning!” The young raccoon folded her arms in protest, a cute pout on her face, as Blaze blocked the exit from their bed chambers.
“Yes, I can, Marine, that's how interrogation works: You go after the weakest link. Silver.” Her head whipped around to the time-travelling hedgehog behind her at the kitchenette pouring himself some tea. He froze and choked on thin air.
His eyes shifted, and he shook nervously, “Wha hmm?” he was shivering. “I don’t- I don’t-”
Blaze approached him. And he practically pinned himself to the wall, like a starfish against the hull of a ship. “Silver. You… Wouldn't be lying to me, would you?” Her voice was low, and she inched closer to him.
Silver stammered, “Wha– heh–” his half chuckle was more of a whiz, “No, I wou wouldn't, I even kn- I wasn’t even with Marine-” The words were barley even escaping his quivering lips which were stuck in a nervous smile, an immediate tell on his part.
Blaze firmly placed her hand against the wall, right beside Silver's head, and leaned in closer, “Silver.” His whole body began to shiver and quake, his legs felt like jello and like they could no longer support the weight of his body.
“Hmmmm?” was all he managed to muster out. Unable to find the words.
“Sunflower~” Her little pet name for him. He lifted his chin up and squeezed shut his eyes, his neon cyan markings blushing bright across his face. A silent whimper had escaped his best attempts at subduing it. Blaze smiled, satisfied, her favourite sound in the world.
He finally broke. “Marine and I went down to the haunted valley”
“Silver! Come on!” The young raccoon exclaimed annoyed.
Blaze reached out and gently ruffled Silver's chest fur, “Thank you, Silver. That's all I wanted to hear. And you're grounded!”
“Ughhhh” Marine groaned.
