Have you ever done something reckless and stupid? Something dangerous and could potentially kills you if anything goes wrong? Something that also makes people you loves mad at you?
But, if you were ever asked whether you regret doing it, the first answer that popped in your head is NO. And if it ever happens again or if time rewind, you will still do the same thing.
Despite what Bianca said (or thought), Nico knows that he’s stubborn and a bit reckless. (okay... maybe a lot reckless but come on, he’s a boy that just got news that the world he thought was a game was actually true. He even met a real monster, heroes and goddess.) So while he knew that both Percy and Bianca want him to stay at Camp until they come back, he couldn’t help but felt like he need to find Bianca.
It just a gut feeling but somewhere deep inside him knew that if he didn’t do what his feeling ask him to do, he will regret it for the rest of his life.
It’s been a day since Percy has gone to follow the questers so even if he wants to ask Percy to let him follow, he couldn’t. He tried to do like what Percy done, takes a pegasus and just flew off but problem one, the pegasus hates him and refuse to come near him no matter what he did. And second and most important is, he have no idea where they goes.
Nico sat sulking at the edge of the lake, hidden behind the trees from other campers. The longer he takes to go find Bianca, the worse he feels. Like something bad going to happen to Bianca. And as much as he believes that Percy would protect Bianca, a small part of him still has doubt.
He gets more and more nervous and anxious as the times keep on ticking by. That also the reason why he didn’t realize the unnatural way the shadows are moving around him. Not until the shadow grow big enough to swallow him.

The shadows dumped him outside a huge junkyard. Rubbing his aching behind, Nico looks around trying to see where he is and realize he didn’t know or recognize where he is. Hesitating for a moment, he decides to look around for the questers.
While looking around, he also thought back to what happens to him just now. ‘Is... is that my power? Some kind of teleportation or travel by shadows?’, Nico mused lightly. His mind start wandering from the power he just discovered to the identity of his godly parents. At first, he thought of Hades but quickly dismiss it because Hades is the god of the dead not the god of shadows. The closest he can think of is Erebus, primordial of darkness or Nyx, goddess of the night.
‘Maybe one of them is Bianca and my godly parent. And, Nyx might be a goddess but well… gods and goddesses must be able to change their gender, right?’.
It was while he was wandering among the junk that he heard a loud crashing noise from the distance. Curious, he quickly rushes towards the sound.
It was there that he saw his sister, only Bianca doing something that was out of her character.
As long as he knows Bianca, she never does anything reckless or dangerous. And yet, right in front of his eyes, it was Bianca herself who runs towards the giant bronze automation.
He watches in horror as she climb inside the automaton using the hole underneath the foot. The automaton started to stagger around and hitting itself. Nico couldn’t just stay and watch anymore. He focused on the feeling he get when he first used his power, urging it to teleport him to Bianca.
Shadows thicken around him, in a blink of an eye he disappears.
Perhaps because he still not used with his power yet or perhaps because he was desperate, the shadow dumped him right on top of Bianca.
He quickly gets up, grabbing her arms to help her up. Bianca stares at him like she saw a ghost. She opens her mouth, maybe to scold him, maybe to ask him how he there when the automaton lurched down. They both almost fall down, still clutching each other. Panic seizes him, so despite feeling tired Nico focused the shadows to bring him and his sister to safety.
Both their feet touched the ground when the shadow spit them up. Nico managed to look at his sister to assured himself that she’s there and okay before everything faded to black.

When asked, Nico couldn’t said he remember what happens after. All he did remember was waking up in the infirmary with Bianca sleeping on a chair beside him. Oh, and the bad feeling he get before is gone.
Of course, once Bianca woke up, he got scolded. Not like he care, as long as she okay and right in front of him. After all, she’s his sister and he’ll do anything for her.
