Work Text:

Finally, she was done grading these blasted papers. She lay back on her chair and let out an exhausted sigh. She ached for something to take the tension away from her fingers. She suddenly remembered the boxes of chocolates she had brought for her loves. She got out her valentine’s day cards and cat-friendly chocolates. She finished writing her notes for the two who made her days better and went to give it to them, morphing into her animus form on the way.

She snuck out of the castle without a hitch - her paws were quiet and the only way she’d be found out is if Potter was stalking her on his blasted map. She met her dates by the edge of the woods and greeted them each by rubbing and licking their furs.

She dropped the bag she had carried along and the contents of it were visible. Crookshanks took the the box of chocolate with his name on it while Mrs. Norris went for the Valentine's day card first.

“Purr meow meow slap lick purr” Minnie understood Mrs. Norris’ sentiment and nuzzled into her rear. Her behind wasn’t smelling at all! Crookshanks must’ve cleaned it thoroughly.

Crookshanks’ box of chocolate opened to reveal small Scabbers shaped treats and he munched on all of them very quickly. “Meow purr meow” Mrs. Norris admonished his bad manners.

Minnie jumped onto a nearby rock and used it as a chair before opening her cards.

Dear Minnie,

Meow purr meo meow. Purr purr meow meow lick purr. Growl purr meow purr meow meow. Meow meow meow hiss growl meow purr purr purr. Meow meow meow!! Hiss growl! Purr meow meow purr.

Meowly,
Mrs. Norris

Crookshanks' card opened to reveal pictures of Slytherin students being caught breaking rules, giving her an excuse to dock points from them. When he saw the smile on Minnie’s face, Crookshanks celebrated. “Meow meow purr meow meow meow purr purr. Hiss Growl!!!” She jumped down and rubbed her body along Crookshanks’ to show her thanks.

As she bit into her treats that Mrs. Norris had scavenged from the forest, topped with rats that Crookshanks had hunted for her, she realized that she very much loved this tradition of theirs.

Notes:

Crookshanks isn't a rat! he just didn't want his Hermione's house to lose to that silly house, and he'd go to any lengths to aid her!
