Work Text:
Jihoon is surprised he isn’t repulsed by Soonyoung’s soft touch as he hangs over Jihoon like wet laundry.
It’s disgusting. He hates physical touch, especially mushy gushy, slightly flirtatious touches.
Soonyoung’s laughing loudly at some joke that Seokmin shared with the table, but all Jihoon can focus on is the way Soonyoung keeps leaning closer into him.
He smells like alcohol and a mix of warm spice and vanilla. All the things he normally hates, but again, isn’t completely turned off by it. If anything, he can’t help but lean deeper to where the smell lingers.
He turns his head towards Soonyoung’s neck and takes a deep breath. He smells like a cinnamon rum cookie. Yum.
His eyes snap open. Fuck. He hopes no one noticed his small slip up. What is going on with him? He’s not even drinking.
He looks around and everyone seems too immersed with their drunken enamor with each other to notice him, until he locks eyes with honey brown ones across from him.
Jeonghan’s eyes are droopy from the alcohol, but still bright with awareness. He notices everything. It’s annoying, but somehow always wraps him in a weird sense of comfort. He understands Jihoon sometimes better than he understands himself.
Jeonghan nudges Seungcheol and whispers into his ear. Seungcheol is, unfortunately, less subtle and gives Jihoon a thumbs up. Jeonghan bursts out laughing and quickly grabs and hides Seungcheol’s hand before the rest of the team notices.
Jihoon glares back. When Seungcheol’s sober tomorrow, he’s gonna kill him.
Soonyoung shifts his arm, pulling Jihoon’s attention away. “You okay, Jihoonie?”
“Remind me again how I got dragged out here?” He says as he takes a sip of his coke zero. The only thing that’s keeping him sane enough to handle the chaos of all 13 members together.
“You act like we don’t do this every month, Jihoonie,” Soonyoung replies sweetly. Gross, but yet Jihoon’s initial reaction isn’t to punch him in the face. He actually kind of wants to hear him talk more, but he refuses to let anyone know. He can barely hold it in himself.
“Do I need to stay long though? We have our duo album and our team album I still need to work on.” Jihoon picks through the leftover pieces of meat and rice on his plate.
“Even addicts need to take a break, jagiya,” Soonyoung leans closer and says in his ear. His hair stands at the back of his neck.
Jihoon scoffs and rolls his eyes, “yea, when they’re dead.” He can’t help the dark, sarcastic humor that rolls off him instinctually.
“Yah! Don’t say that!” Soonyoung yells out. “You’re going to live long because you’re stuck with me for the rest of our lives, okay?”
He doesn’t know why but the thought of being together for a long time makes his heart warm.
He pretends to be indifferent, but he actually loves his members. The brothers that were gifted to him by fate. And he does especially love Soonyoung. Soonyoung intentionally likes to hang out in Jihoon’s studio just to lounge around, play with some demo tracks, and the best part, feed him. His eomma makes some of the best homemade dishes, second to Jihoon’s eomma, of course.
He’d never tell Soonyoung this though. It would go straight to his head.
Jihoon sees the sad look in Soonyoung’s eyes, patiently waiting for his answer. He hates when he’s sad. He rolls his eyes, “yeah, yeah okay.”
Soonyoung’s eyes disappear in his smile and he lays a fat slobbering kiss on Jihoon’s cheek. Then he just continues like normal as if that wasn’t something that would irritatingly pull butterflies in Jihoon’s stomach.
Physical touch is disgusting, but Soonyoung’s physical touch is less disgusting than others.
