Spencer Cassadine was usually more careful with his plans and schemes. He usually made sure that his target was true. That no one else got caught in the crossfire. Which is why he felt so horrible when his latest scheme fell on the shoulders of an innocent, very pretty girl. A pretty girl who pretty much had shown no fear of him, an obvious intruder. He couldn’t help but be impressed, yet feel bad because she had seemed ready to attend a party and he had ruined it…
Which was why he followed her to a night club that seemed to be a new addition to the Port Charles nightlife, but was closed for a private party. Her party most likely. Which made him the biggest of jerks. He should just turn around and go away. Leave the poor girl alone. He had done enough, right?
But something wouldn’t let him. Something was drawing him to that girl as if they were two magnets, meant to meet. So he followed her, slipped out of his black hoodie and returned to his normal attire. He found her, freshly changed, ready to join her party. It was the perfect time to just talk to her. Make sure that she was alright, that he hadn’t done too much damage to her night.
“Hi,” He walked up with a smile, startling her.
Trina turned around and looked at him suspiciously. “Who are you and what are you doing here?”
Maybe she was being rude, but after what had happened in the gallery and how her night had almost been ruined, she couldn’t help it! Here was this boy that she didn’t know, a stranger, at her mother’s boyfriend’s club in a section that wasn’t open to the public. It was more than a little suspicious.
He held up his hands, as if reassuring her that he had no weapons and meant her no harm. “I just wanted to make sure that you were ok.”
“Again, who are you and why do you care if I’m ok? I don’t know you!” Trina couldn’t help but be hot. This was supposed to be a fun night for her, celebrating her graduation! Instead, this was a less than stellar night with stalkers dousing her with what she could only assume was pigs blood and now here was this strange boy delaying her from getting to her already running late, party! “And why are you back here? Do you work here?”
“Yeah,” Spencer quickly agreed, knowing that she’ll probably discover that this was a lie sooner or later, but it was still a good excuse for being there. He smiled, unable to help himself. This girl was feisty. It’d be hard to get anything over on her...which intrigued him. The girls at his school were all boring and docile. The only one that was remotely interesting was...the girl that he couldn’t even remember the name of right now, something which he’ll keep to himself. Even she didn’t hold a candle to the pretty, brave, and feisty girl in front of him. “Yeah.”
“What do you do?” Trina eyed him, not buying it.
“I’m a bar back. Saw you come in.”
“Great. Sorry you had to see that,” Trina looked embarrassed, some of her ire fading.
“I promise I won’t tell a soul,” Spencer reassured, unable to help the amusement in his voice. “I’ll even take down the Facebook posts.”
Trina gave him an annoyed look which amused him even more.
“I’m kidding! I swear!”
“You better be. I’m already having a terrible night.”
“I figured. Which is why I wanted to check up on you.”
“Yeah. No one is going to forget that entrance, ever,” Trina sighed, walking a little bit away, looking dejected. She still couldn’t help feeling embarrassed. This was not how she had wanted to start her party, or her new adult life. “Drenched in fake blood. Calling out for my mom...I just want to run out the back door and go home.”
“Well, I agree with you on one thing. People will definitely remember your entrance for a long long time.”
“Great. Thanks,” She flatly stated, not amused.
“Because it was epic!”
Trina gave him a look that said she didn’t believe him, which she didn’t. Who was this guy?!
“I heard you telling your friends what happened at that gallery down the street,” Spencer continued, determined to make this girl feel better. She hadn’t deserved what had been meant for Ava and he wanted to make it better for her somehow. “Took on some sketchy guy in a mask. Pretty badass.
“You think so?” She didn’t think it was badass. It was stupid, but there had been two modes to go into. Flight or fight, and since she loved Ava and that gallery, she went into fight. She couldn’t just let that guy damage the gallery!
“Definitely. But what I want to know, and tell me if this is none of my business…”
“Oh I will,” Trina folded her arms.
“What were you doing there while the gallery was closed?”
“Oh. I work there. Ava Jerome, the owner, she’s been good to me.”
“Right,” Spencer tried not to roll his eyes, but he couldn’t keep the derision out of his voice.
“Excuse me?” Trina frowned, not liking his tone. The nerve of this guy! What did he have against Ava?!
“That woman’s notorious! Didn’t she kill someone?”
“I don’t know! I wasn’t there! Where you?”
“No, but…”
“Ava Jerome is my friend! I appreciate you being all concerned, but you need to watch what you say.”
This girl was feisty...and loyal...and Spencer couldn’t help but like her even more! “It’s just what I’ve heard.”
“Well, you need to stop listening to gossip. Ava’s a good person.”
“I believe you. I’m truly sorry!”
“Good. You should be.”
“Wow, you are pretty fierce! That creeper at the gallery didn’t stand a chance!”
“Yeah, well I like to stand up for my friends.”
“Your friends are lucky,” Spencer gave a small, almost sad smile. They certainly were. He’d definitely like to have a friend as loyal and brave as this pretty girl. “Don’t you want to go party with them? I mean, it’s a graduation party, right? This is your night and you...look amazing.”
Trina smiled with a little blush. “Well, N’neka and I did the best we could.”
“My compliments,” And he meant that. This girl was the whole package. Beautiful, brave, loyal, fierce. He could just imagine asking her out if things in his life were different. “So are you going to sneak out and go home or are you going to get back in there and show everyone that you aren’t going to let some jerk ruin your night?”
“You never told me your name.”
“I didn’t? Victor,” Spencer quickly came up with a name. His Uncle wouldn’t find out and most likely he’ll never see this girl again.
“Trina, but you already knew that.”
“It’s nice to meet you, Trina.”
“So...you coming?”
He wanted to. Very badly, but there were people in there who knew who he really was and it wasn’t time to reveal his presence just yet. There was still a plan that he had to follow and he couldn’t let cute girls and graduation parties get in the way...no matter how badly he wanted to.
“I have to get back to work, but maybe I’ll see you around?”
Trina gave him an interested look, hoping that she did see him around. He was really cute and there was something drawing her to him...like a magnet. “Maybe.”
Spencer watched her return to the party, exhaling a little. Trina was a very beautiful girl that he was endlessly drawn to and he could tell that she felt the same attraction. Sadly, it was an attraction that he had to turn away from. He couldn’t be caught in Port Charles. Not yet.
But one thing was for sure...Trina was a girl that he was not going to forget anytime soon.
