Work Text:
like antigone, the girl of oedipus and jocasta, he buried them.
he didn't even know if he deserved to be the one to bury them. he deceived them after all, and that led to their deaths.
so really, who was he to bury their bodies but their friendship was insignificant in the face of his actions? his plan to get them all killed for his own benefit just to get home to his family?
but even then he was their only family, wasn't he?
maybe he was someone else, an entity that wasn't entirely human, the monster of the story.
but even then, who's to say who's a monster and who isn't when we all have that itch--that craving for blood--in us all?
history repeats itself, they say.
