It's been about six months since Glinda and Elphaba started trying the spell that would allow them to conceive a child on their own. A child that would be entirely theirs. Glinda was nervous of course, would she be a good enough mother to this child? She kept her distance from Liir for a reason, while not cold towards the boy, she rejected the notion of being his second mother in favor of being his aunt for fear that her work and vices would get in the way of truly caring for him.
However he still wormed his way into her heart, truly loving him as her own. It made Glindas heart ache with how much she wanted a child of her own, with Elphaba of course. She loves Fiyero, but the thought of that horrendable appendage anywhere near her made her gag. It took months of Elphaba asking, before she decided it was time to entertain the idea. Cleaning herself up and letting go of the worst of her vice as Elphaba studied how to make this work without the help of the Grimmerie.
That all lead to this moment. Glinda holding Elphaba's hair back as she emptied her stomach into the toilet for the fifth time this week, almost like clockwork. "My darling, I...I think we should see the Good Doctor today, I believe something...took hold" Glinda says gently. Elphaba can't help but chuckle Glindas words "Something took hold alright, this horrendable nausea" she groans as she gets up with the help of her wife to get cleaned up.
"You remember that this is the first sign right? Throwing up for days on end, your sense of smell is getting stronger! You said Fae* smelled awful last night after his bath! You n e v e r say that" Glinda says as she meets Elphabas gaze in the mirror "I...could it have finally worked?" The blonde wraps her arms around Elphabas waist, slowly rubbing her lower belly, a soothing feeling washing over her. Its different, she's different somehow. Glinda feels charged with magic, something not unlike what they felt the last time they tried.
Glinda kisses behind Elphaba's ear "My sweet nightingale, I think you should get a blood test today, for me, perhaps the spell finally worked" she murmurs as she goes to nibble the shell of her beloveds wife's ear "Last time sure was intense" she purrs playfully. Elphaba shudders and takes her hand "It certainly was, and it has been a few weeks." She thinks about it for awhile longer "After breakfast we will go" She says turning to kiss Glinda deeply, she of whom can't help a squeal that escapes in between kisses, doing a happy dance in her arms before whisking them away to start their day.

Sometime after the test was conducted, one bright summer morning they get a knock on the door. Fiyero and Liir groan in their sleep as Elphaba gets up to get it. Glinda immediately rolls over and then whines at the lack of her wife, Fiyero tries to take her hand to pull her into him, but no, its certainly not husband time, she swats his hand away to cuddle Elphabas pillow instead.
Elphaba puts on her emerald green robe and answers the door, its one of their countless handmaidens, carrying a letter for her. "It's from the Good Doctor madam" the young woman says with a curtsy "Thank you very much, I have been waiting on this" she says softly as the woman leaves.
She closes the door and looks at the envelope, a sudden anxiety washing over her, waiting for it to say something terrible like 'your blood is rotten' or 'barren'. Absolutely ridiculous things from a tiny blood test, but she felt the same way with Liir. Plus this is a magical baby, what if that goes wrong somehow. What if this just wasn't meant to be...
She's jolted from her thoughts by Glinda, snuggling up to her side, arms wrapped around her, head on her shoulder. "My darling? Is this what we've been waiting for?" Glinda asks softly, that same relief washing over Elphaba "Ye...yes, I do believe" she murmurs as Glinda kisses her cheek "Then let's open it together" she says soothingly as she takes her wife's hands to help her open the parchment.
"You can close your eyes if you wish, I'll read it to you" Glinda murmurs and her wife nods and slips her eyes closed. "Madams Arduenna Upland Thropp Tigelaar" Glinda starts, the length of their combined names always make Elphaba giggle "I write to inform you that Missus Elphaba is indeed pregnant, I will inform the medical and nutritional staff right away to make accommodations...." the blonde can't even finish reading before Elphaba turns to hug her tight "We did it!" she sobs as Glinda hugs her so so tight "We did my darling! Together! We created life!" She giggles as she spins her around for a moment before kissing her sweetly. Elphaba cups her cheeks as she kisses her slowly, soon breaking to press their foreheads together. Glinda cups her wifes low belly to rub soothing circles on her. "Soon" she says excitedly. A soothing wash comes over Elphaba again, Glindas magic. Thats what she's feeling, like a blooming meadow. A warm spring day. Glindas love is renewal, rebirth, healing. Elphaba feels so lucky to share this magic with her, to weave her into her heart. The magic that brought new life into Oz.
