   Summary

   The Alliance is losing.

   For the last three years, humankind has battled ceaselessly against the turians, an alien fleet that launched a brutal war after humanity discovered ancient, forbidden technology. Despite humanity's best efforts, they are perilously close to all-out nuclear annihilation -- or a slow death by starvation as the skies burn and human colonies go dark.

   Desperate for survival, the shattered remains of the Alliance's best undertake a mission with impossible odds: plant a bomb on the turian homeworld and end the war once and for all. But when the mission goes catastrophically awry, Shepard finds herself stranded in hell: a planet covered in the wrecks of a thousand starships; a planet that orbits a black hole.
