Anticipating The Next Step

Summary:

Spencer distracts Trina before their big trip. The anticipation is almost too much.

Notes:

Day 3 was hard to choose from, but I settled on this playful scene that was full of kisses and touches and their connection. I always wondered what was going through Trina's head, really. Hot boyfriend wanting to be with her. A big trip to bed said hot boyfriend on the way...I had to explore it! I hope you enjoy!❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

Work Text:

Trina sat at her desk, typing away on her laptop, trying her best to concentrate on editing her paper. She wanted to have everything finished before the big trip to New York that her and Spencer were leaving for that evening. It was a hard feat to concentrate because all she could think about was Spencer and what she and Spencer were going to be doing...the feelings they’d be reaffirming...the next big step in their relationship that they would be taking. The...gift...she’ll be giving to him...because she loved him so much, she could barely breathe and it was beyond the time she let him know.

Yes, this weekend was going to be the biggest weekend of their lives and she did not want to be distracted by a paper waiting to be turned in.

The knock on the door disrupted the quiet room, annoying Trina as it was just another distraction she didn’t need or want.

“I’m busy, go away!” She called out, hoping that whoever it was would just leave since she was too busy for company. But unfortunately, the knocking continued. She couldn’t help but roll her eyes, her annoyance clear in her voice. “Go away!”

“Too busy for your boyfriend!” Spencer’s voice called out through the knocking.

Trina got up, knowing that he was not going to take no for an answer.

“Ok, ok, ok!” She rushed to the door and opened it, unable to stop the smile that curved her lips, as she tried not to laugh at the pout he wore. “Yes, Spencer. I’m even too busy for you.” He looked so cute and adorable, she couldn’t help but giggle. “I’m working on my essay for my art seminar, ok. I’ll talk to you in a couple of hours.”

She tried to close the door, but he was talking, and she just couldn’t bring herself to close the door when he was talking to her. That would be rude...and...he was so nice to look at...his voice was so nice to listen to...it wouldn’t hurt just to hear what he had to say, right?

“Aren’t you the person who said that your goal this year was to have more of a work-life balance with PCU?” He asked, leaning in the doorway, his dark eyes staring into her very soul, or rather that was what it felt like.

“Yeah, I did say that,” She admitted and didn’t even stop him as he pranced into her room and made his way to her terribly small twin bed.

“Ah, good! So your essay really can wait, can it?!” He settled down at the foot of her bed, his voice light and teasing. Tempting.

“Not if I want it to be good, and I do,” She closed the door, having a feeling that she was making a mistake...but something in her didn’t care. She had a very cute boy in her room, on her bed...how could she say no to that?

“Trina, you had just started your junior year at PCU! This essay, you probably have two more weeks for this, at least. Am I right?” He motioned to her laptop. Spencer knew what he was doing...he knew he was probably wrong for this...but he couldn’t help himself. Trina was going to be all his over the weekend...and he wanted to get her to himself as soon as possible...little things like school and essays be damned. He was sure that if he really worked at it and hinted to Trina what was in store...he could get her to give in! In fact, with how she’s been looking at him, she was pretty sure that she’d give in.

“Oh, ok. I’ll take you up on that bet because you would lose in a heartbeat. It’s due on Tuesday.”

“Oooh,” Spencer reached over and pulled her onto his lap, just loving the feel of her in his arms. “On Tuesday! So in other words, you have plenty of time for a little fun.”

Spencer claimed her lips, not giving her time to think and Trina indeed felt all thoughts leave her mind as not only did she realize she was on his lap, but he was kissing her in a way that made her body come alive in ways it always did when she had free time and thought of him in say...the sauna at his Uncles’s gym...wearing a towel. Or that time on the Haunted Star, when he came out in nothing but a towel. It was a kiss that sent a heat wave from the top of her head to the ends of her toes, which curled with anticipation.

Spencer moaned as he devoured her lips, enjoying the sweet taste of her, and moaned again as he rained more kisses and felt how easily she melted into him...but then she began to pull away, telling him to stop, her own voice raspy with the same desire he felt.

“What? Are my lips chapped?” He laughed as she gave him a look that said that his lips were anything but chapped. “What’s wrong? You’re not having fun?”

She got up and moaned. “No, no, that’s not the point. You’re distracting me. I need to finish this essay before we go to the city and you’re just totally distracting me right now…”

Spencer tried to look understanding and he did understand, but Trina needed this weekend and so did he. They both did and things like school and papers were things that he was not going to let get in the way of their weekend together.

“I know, I know. It’s so hard. But hey, look. It’s going to be ok. I know that you’re such a perfectionist,” He couldn’t help but keep a hold of her soft, perfect hands that fit so well in his as if she had been made just for him. I know that you gotta get things done and you’re such a good student. But we’re gonna be back from our trip on Monday. Then you can turn in your paper on Tuesday. But Trina, I admire how smart you are and this all looks pretty impressive. You probably did double the amount of research for this paper than you needed to, but hey, you’re gonna have time to finish this when we get back from our trip. Let’s go!”

“Yeah. You’re probably right,” She felt herself giving in, his optimism catchy, his other things, tempting. Maybe she was being a perfectionist. Maybe she was worrying way too much about a paper she was as good as finished with…

“Yeah. I am right,” He wanted to have her in his arms again. He wanted to kiss her senselessly and never stop...but instead, he satisfied himself by continuously raining kisses on her small hands, so small and perfect and belonging to the most perfect girl in the world!

“But, but I need to finish this paper before we go!”

“Trina Robinson!”

“Listen! If I don’t finish this, right? If I don’t finish this before we go, I’ll be thinking about it all weekend and I want this weekend to be about us. The only thing I want to be thinking about is you and me and us being together."

Spencer fell back onto the bed, his hands covering his eyes. This perfect girl was putting up a fight and he had no idea what he needed to say or do to convince her to do things his way! “Trina! You have no idea, you have no idea the fantastic weekend I have planned for you. There’s no way, not even for a single second that you’ll be able to think about, a silly paper that you have to write,” He sat up and took her hands again and this time, as he laid back down, he pulled her down on top of his body much to Trina’s delight...and dismay, because the feel of her body on top of his...it made her mind go certain places and made certain feelings in certain parts intensify which made resistance even harder.

Harder until he called her paper silly. That seemed to give her the strength to push off of him and ignore how his body seemed to follow her a little as she got up. “First of all, my paper isn’t silly. Art is going to be my career and I take my work very seriously.”

“Oh, I know, I know,” Spencer quickly agreed, feeling that he had pissed her off somehow.

“Ok and I don’t want to be thinking about my paper when we go on our trip,” She reached down and took his hands, and pulled him off the bed. “Which is whhhhy I need you to go.”

Seeing that he wasn’t going to get his way, Spencer sighed and headed for the door. He obviously wasn’t going to win...unless...he turned back around to face her, holding his hands out as if pleading. “I know, but even if you didn’t finish your paper, I really doubt that you’d be able to think about school while you were there because…” he paused as if making a decision and then just threw his hands up and shrugged. “You know what, never mind. That’s ok.”

He turned to the door as if to leave.

Trina began to stammer. She hadn’t meant to hurt his feelings or make him mad! She had just wanted to finish her paper...but his reaction had her not only a little dismayed but curious.

“What...wait..”

“Don’t worry about it,” Spencer waved her off as if he was just going to ignore her. He even had the door halfway opened, as if he was ready to leave.

“Stop! What is it?!”

He stopped, looking at her as if asking if she was serious. If she knew what she was asking.

“Tell me.”

“Do you really want to know?”

“Yes.”

Shutting the door. He faced her, knowing that he was about to make her so so happy. Something that he aimed to do for the rest of his life. He sat down on Joss’s bed, moving her pillows as he did so. “You really really want to know?”

“Yes,” Trina insisted, her voice now on the edge of impatience.

“I got us prime tickets to go see Moulin Rouge.”

Trina’s eyes widened with excitement and joy that lit up the room like the sun had just come out. Her voice was full of delight. Spencer couldn’t help but smile, his mission accomplished. “Really?! Really?!”

“Yeah, yeah,” Spencer laughed, enjoying her reaction.

“I listen to the soundtrack all the time!” She wrapped her arms around his neck.

“I know!” Spencer laughed, wrapping his arms around her waist, loving the chance to just touch her, be close to her, breathe her in. “It’s like we’re dating and I know these things about you! Yeah, we’re going to go, we have amazing seats, we’re going to be in the third row, center stage. All that jazz, and, I got us dinner reservations...at Essence…”

“What? I knew that you were supposed to be taking me but that place is supposed to be like the hardest place to get reservations at!”

“Yeah. What can I say? I have a few connections.”

Trina couldn’t believe it. She didn’t know why she couldn’t believe it, because her boyfriend was rich, heck, he was a prince! But she couldn’t believe it! “Alright, ok. Ok…”

“Ah! She’s excited!” Spencer laughed, seeing just how happy she was.

“Maybe you’re right. Maybe this weekend will be amazing….I can’t wait!” She couldn’t help it. In all her excitement, she hugged him tight and just for a few minutes allowed herself to enjoy it, to enjoy him and this sneak peek of what this weekend would entail when it came to loving Spencer Cassadine.

“You don’t have to wait! I’m already packed, so why don’t we just get you packed and then get out of here?”

She wanted to. She really really wanted to. She wanted to get this perfect weekend started with this perfect, incredibly handsome guy who seemed to adore her. Just for a few minutes, she allowed herself to relax and enjoy just being in his presence, talking to him, making plans, and knowing that soon all of her dreams that she had dared dream about Spencer were about to come true.

She was so intuned to his closeness, that she almost didn’t hear the words he was saying as he played with her fingers, a habit he seemed to have and she didn’t mind.

“Now from what I remember, late September in Manhatten can be pretty much anything weatherwise, so you’re going to want to be prepared for hot and cold. You gonna want to bring something fancy for the theater and I was thinking something casual in case you and I want to take a walk through Central Park.”

“Ok,” She simply said, having no idea what he was rambling on about, with his gorgeous dark eyes and his hair and his smile and how strong his hands were…

“Where do you want to start? You’re going to look amazing no matter what you wear, so don’t give me that look.”

She had to stop being distracted like this. She had to get her mind back to business so she could be free from essays and school for the weekend. Which meant...she had to pull herself together and stop mooning over this man! “Thank you for the compliment. But I don’t need your help packing.”

“Hey, this is to speed things up, not slow things down. The sooner we get on the road, the sooner we get to New York, the sooner you and I can have some fun,” He kissed her hands a few more times. He just couldn’t keep his lips off her!

“I’m going to keep saying this until it sinks into your thick skull. I am not packing until I finish my essay, and I can’t finish my essay until you leave. What part of that sentence is confusing.”

“Oh I completely understand. I just have a different goal, because I know you, Trina Robinson. If I had a guess, I’d say that essay over there, is probably finished. I’m thinking that you’ll probably have to do a little bit of proofreading...a little bit of editing.”

She couldn’t help but laugh. He did know her...

Spencer’s laughter deepened, just knowing that he was right. “You are so busted! That’s exactly what it is! And you can do all of that on Monday when we get back from our little trip, ok? Now, let’s go.”

“No, you’re wrong.”

“Ok, ok, I’m wrong. Trina, I don’t believe you.”

“Ok, you can believe me or not, but either way, if you want to speed up this departure, you’ll go.” Because if he didn’t go...she didn’t think she’d be able to resist kissing him and never stopping. That was how tempting he was...but she wasn’t going to let him know that. “And the door’s over there.”

He just sat there and looked at her and she couldn’t take it anymore. He looked too good, smelled too good, felt too good. She got up and put some distance between them before she began to climb him like Mt. Everest.

Seeing that he wasn’t getting anywhere, he got up, himself. “Alright Trina Robinson! How much more time do you think that you’ll need to finish up your essay so you can go to New York and we don’t have to think about this anymore,” He opened up the door and stood in the doorway, showing that he really was giving in and was going to go away.

“I don’t exactly know, but I say that you’ve added on an hour by interrupting me.”

“Are you really saying you’re sorry that I showed up?”

Was she sorry? Trina inwardly admitted that she was anything but sorry, because she now had a clue about what was awaiting her in New York and it wasn’t the theater or the restaurant. What she had a clue about was underneath those clothes and she looked forward to the tour that she was going to take.

Unable to stop herself, she just went to him, wrapped her arms around his neck, and kissed him long and deep, giving him a clue of what was awaiting him as well. After a full minute, she pulled away with a satisfied smile, seeing the same heat in his eyes that she had been feeling since his arrival.

“Oh Trina, that’s the last thing you should do if you want me to leave.”

“Go.”

“No, you can’t come over here and kiss me like that and expect me to go, no!”

Trina couldn’t help it, she laughed as she gently escorted him out the door. “Yes, because I need to finish my paper if you expect me to kiss you like that in New York.”

Spencer sighed, gazing into her eyes, his affection all too clear. “You don’t play fair.”

“No, I don’t,” She kissed him again, this time for not as long. “Now go.”

She made herself step away and closed the door before she could change her mind. Smiling, she leaned against the door, sensing his presence still there.

“Alright, Trina Robinson! Type fast! New York City awaits!”

Trina felt her anticipation rise, knowing that New York was going to be the step that her relationship with that gorgeous man needed and that when they returned, things would never be the same again! Trina had once told Joss that Spencer was hers. Well, in New York, she was going to make him hers in all ways possible. Of that she was sure.
