You’re eyes are like Sapphires

Work Text:

Kendal was nervous as he and the demons were setting up the machine. “Careful now she’s very fragile after long journeys” he stated while pointing to his gigantic machine. “She’s just had her new paint job done”.

The demons took no notice and continued to set up. Kendal was fiddling around with the jewelled cuffs on his sleeves a little habit of his whenever he was suffering from any kind of img anxiety. He then took one of the demons that he remembered the names of aside.

“Neil? Who is the man you’ve got me a job for who is he?” Neil looked at him. “My master and lord he said he needed help with cutting up these precious stones to you know shine them up and make them sparkle to get more money for a war chest”.

Kendal gulped in fear, from the description of this fella he’d be surprise he had been chosen to be up to this task and not any of the other fine jewellers, maybe a kind favour from Neil perhaps?.

The doors then swung open and in walked a man dressed head to toe in leathers and pieces of armour like arm guards and carrying a very spikes helmet in his left hand. He marched into the room and slammed the helmet onto the tiny black metal chair he called a throne.

“So where is this jewellery guy then” he said with an annoyed expression on his face. Kendal blushed and walked towards the man who was staring at his machine. “That will be me I’m Kendal” he reached out and grabbed his hand and aggressively shook it which kinda scared the man.

Kendal then went to flipping random switches to break the awkward sound of silence. “So… Kendal erm… how’s it going??” He bashfully asked.
“A few teething problems I’m afraid she’s being a very naughty girl aren’t you” he said while gesturing at the machine “throwing up her grinding wheels and buckling the shuttle plates had to give you a little spanking didn’t I to get working again didn’t I?”

Negatus blushed for a moment then. Kendal looked at his blushing red face and diverted the conversation. “But it’s ok I think we’re getting somewhere now so…” the machine made a ding noise that cut him off “oh perfect timing so!”. He then knelt down to the bottom of the machine and lowered his hand to the open compartment. “Want to give daddy some sugar?”.

Out popped a giant dark blue jewel as dark as the deep blue sea. He then swaggered his way over to his client and handed it to him who immediately was taken to it like a magpie finding a piece of jewellery.

Impressed with his new deep sea coloured jewel in his hand he held it up against the gleaming moon light beams that were piercing through the gated windows. “Now that’s what I’m talking about” he said. Kendal chuckled and replied “ she has taste I can see it matches your eyes very well”. Negatus then stopped and looked at him “Excuse me?” he then blushed. “I said the jewel... Matches your eyes…?”. He then started blushing as well. “Well done Kendal you idiot !” He thought to himself. Negatus was actually quite taken with the compliment and chuckled “why thank you” he said. “I was always told I had my mother’s dazzling eyes”. Kendal then felt him press the jewel into his hand “so can you make another? Out of these stones?”. Kendal looked at the waste left over from making the gem. “It only makes one gem but if I get another load I can make more though it will have to be done one at a time and will be small but still enough”.
