"No, no, do not look," the darkness hisses to me.
"In the silent whisper of the night, she can not be found. Don't search for ways to see her. You can't save this shivering madwoman."
But every night, I burn.
Every night, I call out for you and fall down, devoured by the darkness.
"Oh, don't talk about love," the darkness instills me, mumbles in the rustle, swamping me deeper from you.
"Do not talk about worlds that never existed. There are none and will never be. You can't do anything. Here, you can't say a word to her. You'll never come back to meet her. This is the end."
But every night, I burn.
I scream your name every night and see the same dream how I'm reaching out through the burning fire to my only friend.
Every night, I wait for the world to explode.
"And yet, she is saved," I whisper to the darkness with a smirk on my face.
"No matter how far I slip away, no matter how brightly I burn, my light will live on in her. She knows it. And even if there is no place in this world for me to hide from the darkness, even if everything is over before it has even begun, I will continue to believe in us."
But every night, I burn.
And every night, smoldering in my dreams is the thought of how you brighten my life with your darkness, saving me without knowing it.
The darkness bleeds with poison, dragging my sanity down deeper and deeper. I can no longer see anything, but I continue to grin like a beast, groaning on my last breath.
"I'll wait for you, burning. I don't want to close my eyes. I will love you forever. You are a bitter tear forever in my soul."
