Chapter 1: Confession and Reciprocation (W)

Chapter Text

Chloe x Rimuru x Hinata

Requested by: Alkatras12

In one of the deepest parts of the labyrinth situated in Tempest, two women were clashing swords, their figures barely a blur to the eyes of many. The sparks that flew around the place were the only thing that gave even a brief glimpse of their past locations.

Chloe, a black-haired woman with her hair tied in a side ponytail, wielded her weapon, Moon Mistress. Her rapier moved fluidly as she thrust at her opponent.

Hinata, a short black-haired woman, wielding Phantom Pain, her weapon, received Chloe’s attack and deflected it as best as she could.

To the untrained eye, it might seem as though they were fighting on almost equal terms, but to the few who knew them, it was clear: Hinata was being overpowered from the start of the match.

It wasn’t even a fair spar to begin with. Despite the two women having been together for two thousand years, their bodies, and their weapons, were different in both quality and strength.

As they reached the climax of their match, Chloe saw an opportunity and sent a barrage of strikes toward Hinata, who, much to her dismay, could not block every single one.

In the end, Hinata was forced to surrender, the point of Chloe’s rapier pressed to her throat.

“I give,” Hinata sighed, stepping back out of range of the blade. She sheathed her sword and began stretching her body, moving her sore arms and cracking her neck.

“That was a good spar, Hinata-san,” Chloe smiled as her sword was also sheathed. She walked toward Hinata, who chose to sit on the floor to rest both her body and mind.

Hinata looked at Chloe with a dry smile. “Is that so? I didn’t even have a chance in the entire battle.” Her tone tinged with dry humor.

“That’s not true,” Chloe sat beside her. “You were much harder to fight now. I had to make sure to stay vigilant and be extremely serious because, in terms of sword skill, you beat me.”

Hinata looked at her, slightly amused by the reassurance. She couldn’t help but see Chloe as the child she had been before her transformation—the one who constantly said reassuring words, and, to Hinata's annoyance, random statements out of the blue.

“By the way, Hinata-san,” Chloe’s voice barely registered as Hinata drifted into a small daydream. “I heard you and Rimuru went on a little date yesterday.”

Her words pulled Hinata out of her daze. She turned to Chloe with great speed, her eyes wide, and a tiny blush creeping onto her face. “Wha—what do you mean? Rimuru and I never went on a date.” Her tone was defensive.

Chloe looked at her with a serious expression, as if she was contemplating how anyone could be fooled. Hinata turned away, feeling the heat of Chloe’s gaze.

“We were just eating at a place that sells ramen.”

“Of course you were,” Chloe replied with a slightly sarcastic tone, a smile playing at the corners of her lips. “You two just happened to coincidentally meet each other on the streets, then went inside to eat, and afterward, you just went your separate ways, right?”

Hinata’s breath caught in her chest. After all, they hadn’t gone their separate ways. They’d chatted some more and even visited a few stalls together.

Seeing Hinata’s reaction, Chloe sighed, closing her eyes. “You know, Hinata-san, isn’t it time you admit to yourself that you have feelings for Rimuru-san?”

“But I really don’t!” Hinata exclaimed, standing up and grabbing her sword. “Let’s continue our spar.”

Chloe looked at her with an incredulous expression, exhaling deeply, somewhat exhausted from Hinata’s denial, before standing up as well.

And with a blink of an eye, the sparks and blur from earlier returned.

Hinata took the offensive, using both her weapon and her skills to fight Chloe. They moved through the large room with great speed. Chloe jumped back and began running along the walls.

Hinata dashed forward, aiming her rapier at Chloe’s predicted position. Chloe dodged the attack with swift movement, but Hinata’s thrust struck deep into the wall, cracking and destroying a part of the room.

Chloe turned, seeing an opportunity. She struck, but Hinata pulled her sword in time to block the attack. The force behind Chloe's strike sent Hinata flying backward, but she managed to land safely.

Chloe dropped to the ground as well. “Hinata-san, if I win this round, you’ll have to accept the fact that you have feelings for Rimuru-san.” With those words, she disappeared from view.

Hinata’s heart raced. She couldn’t even follow Chloe’s fast movements now. She could only vaguely sense where Chloe had been, but by then, she was long gone.

She trusted her instincts and turned, deflecting a thrust aimed at her chest. “I don’t have any feelings for him!” She shouted, countering Chloe’s attack.

Chloe frowned as she moved around the room again, not allowing Hinata any time to think about countering either her attack or her words.

“Hinata-san,” Chloe’s voice echoed through the room. It was hard to pinpoint where the sound was coming from, as Chloe moved with incredible speed. “We’ve been in one body for two thousand years. I’ve seen how you interact with Rimuru-san. I’ve seen how you look at him. There’s a reason I considered you someone I needed to be careful of.”

Hinata gritted her teeth, trying to block out Chloe’s voice. “Enough!”

She leaped toward one of the large pillars in the room and sliced it into several pieces with her sword.

Sensing Chloe’s presence behind her, she spun and struck at nothing. The wall bore the marks of her attack—punctured holes and deep slashes.

“Hinata-san…” Chloe’s voice was laced with concern. She stopped in the middle of the room, where Hinata could see her clearly.

Hinata took slow, deliberate steps forward, her eyes slightly watery and her voice laced with frustration. “I know already…”

She choked on her words as she continued to strike at Chloe, as though venting both her words and actions.

“I know what this feeling is. I enjoy talking with him, interacting with him... even just being in his presence and having him within my sight…” Her grip on her sword tightened.

“But…” She quickened her pace, aiming for Chloe’s head. Chloe barely dodged the attack, the blade missing by mere centimeters.

Hinata’s eyes burned with a mixture of frustration and desperation. “There’s no way I can tell him that…”

She pushed forward, each strike becoming heavier than the last, her movements growing less graceful, more brutish and straightforward.

“He already has so many beautiful women around him,” Hinata muttered under her breath, cursing herself for even thinking such things, for even talking about this with Chloe. “He has you, and I know he’d fight anyone to protect you.”

“Hinata-san…” Chloe’s voice softened. “Are you perhaps…”

“Enough!” Hinata pulled out her spirit armor and raised her rapier high. “Melt Slash!”

A large wave of magicules surged through the room, the pressure intense. The battle finally stopped.

Chloe looked ahead, her worried expression slowly shifting to one of relief. In front of her stood the man they had both been discussing—the one they both loved.

“…Rimuru,” Hinata uttered, her voice small as Rimuru held the blade of her rapier. His expression was filled with worry and care as he gazed at her.

“Hinata,” Rimuru’s voice reached her, and in that moment, she realized the gravity of her actions. She let go of her rapier, her gaze dropping as the weight of the situation settled over her.

“…I…” Before she could explain, she felt a wave of warmth as Rimuru embraced her. The safety and security of his touch made her feel at ease. She could see Chloe, standing behind Rimuru’s shoulder, offering a silent nod and a smile.

“Rimuru, I…” Hinata paused, her heartbeat quickening. She imagined that Rimuru could feel her rapid pulse. “I like you.”

The words left her with an overwhelming sense of relief, as though the tension in her body lifted with the confession.

Rimuru released his hold on her, stepping back to look at her. Her eyes were red, slightly teary from the frustration and anger that had clouded her moments before. “I know,” he said, chuckling softly. “I heard.”

Hinata’s face flushed crimson as she gripped his clothes, leaning her forehead against his chest, not wanting him to see the vulnerability in her expression.

A hand gently cupped her cheek, lifting her face so their eyes met. “I like you too, Hinata.”

Hinata’s emotions overtook her, and tears fell freely from her eyes. She gripped him closer, her hands pulling him toward her as she quickly kissed him on the lips before pushing him away.

She stepped back several paces, placing a hand on her chest, feeling her heartbeat thundering loudly in her ears.

“Good for you, Hinata-san!” Chloe cheered, rushing to her side and grabbing her hand excitedly. “Rimuru-san likes you too!”

“Chloe…” Hinata turned to her, a realization dawning. She had confessed to Rimuru, and he had confessed to her in return. She smiled shyly at Chloe. “I’m… I’m sorry, Chloe.”

Chloe blinked, confused for a moment, before tilting her head in understanding. Then, with a wide grin, she said, “Ah, don’t worry about that. I confessed my love a long time ago. We’re both Rimuru-san’s girlfriends!”

Rimuru scratched his cheek awkwardly at Chloe’s words. “Chloe here told me to come because she had a surprise. But when I arrived, you were in the middle of a dangerous battle.” He sighed and glanced at Chloe, who only laughed lightly at his exasperated stare.

Hinata raised an eyebrow and looked at Chloe. “Did you plan this?” Her tone was questioning, though she could already tell what the answer was.

“Yes!” Chloe declared proudly, puffing out her chest. “Though I didn’t expect you to get so angry, Hinata-san. It was kinda scary too…” Her voice faltered slightly as she averted her gaze toward the ground. “Sorry.”

Hinata massaged her temple, looking utterly incredulous. “I can’t believe this.”

“What’s important is that you two finally confessed your feelings for each other,” Chloe said, attempting to steer the conversation elsewhere. “I mean, it was already pretty obvious, and I was kinda jealous of your date yesterday. Rimuru-san, that was cheating!” She puffed her cheeks out at Rimuru with a playful pout.

Rimuru, flustered, ruffled her hair as she moved toward him. “I didn’t have an affair, you idiot. I just had a chat with Hinata while we were eating,” he explained with an embarrassed grin.

Chloe’s eyes gleamed with mischief. “Then,” she said, her voice brimming with excitement, “can we go on a date now?”

Rimuru paused for a moment, then shrugged. “I don’t see why not. I don’t have much work today.”

“Great!” Chloe cheered, her face lighting up as she turned to Hinata. “Let’s go, all three of us!”

Hinata’s eyes widened in surprise. She hadn’t expected to be included in their discussion about going on a date. “Me?” she asked, pointing to herself in disbelief.

“Yeah,” Chloe nodded enthusiastically, her hand slipping into Rimuru’s. “Rimuru-san, you two didn’t get a proper date yesterday. So let’s do one now—with all three of us!”

“This is ridiculous…” Hinata muttered as she walked through the streets of Tempest.

“Now, now. Chloe’s having fun; you should too,” Rimuru chuckled as they walked side by side. Meanwhile, Chloe was wandering around, hopping from one stall to another, clearly enjoying herself.

“I guess that’s fine too…” Hinata blushed slightly, then hesitated before offering her hand. “Then, can you hold my hand?”

Rimuru glanced at her, a soft blush creeping up his own cheeks. He smiled and, without hesitation, took her hand, their fingers intertwining as they continued to walk together.

Hinata felt a warmth spread through her as their hands touched. The presence of others around them, many of whom were familiar with Rimuru or recognized her, made her a little self-conscious. She couldn’t help but wonder if the simple act of holding hands would soon lead to whispers.

“Ah, you two are leaving me out again!” Chloe’s loud voice broke through, holding a handful of food in both hands. She had certainly caught the attention of the surrounding crowd.

“That’s Rimuru-sama.”

“Isn’t that woman with him Hinata Sakaguchi?”

“Are those two…”

A flurry of comments and speculations buzzed through the air, and Hinata couldn’t help but feel embarrassed. She shot Chloe an irritated look but said nothing, wishing the attention would subside.

“Ah, sorry,” Chloe said with a playful grin, sticking her tongue out. “Here you go.”

She handed them both some food. Hinata took a piece with her free hand, and as Rimuru reached for another, Chloe pulled her hand back with a teasing smile.

Rimuru, slightly confused, was about to ask when Chloe spoke up, her voice lighthearted but mischievous.

“You won’t be able to hold my hand,” Chloe teased, her tone playful as she grabbed Rimuru’s other hand. “Here, Rimuru-san.” She held a skewer out to him.

Rimuru accepted the skewer, taking a bite as Chloe did the same. “Isn’t this nice?” she said, looking satisfied.

Hinata glanced at her own food, then at Rimuru. Without a word, she offered him a piece as well, and after he took a bite, she murmured softly, “Yeah, this is nice.”

The three continued their stroll, moving leisurely through the bustling streets before making their way to the capital’s heart.

“Rimuru-san, let’s go there!” Chloe suddenly pointed as they approached the Musical Hall.

Hinata’s expression softened with a gentle smile, recalling her previous visit. “I agree with her.”

Rimuru nodded with approval, and together, they entered the hall.

They were guided to the elevated VIP box, a private, serene spot away from the crowd. The trio settled into three comfortable seats, with Rimuru in the middle. The soft lighting dimmed, and the music began to play.

The instruments’ calming melodies filled the air, creating an atmosphere of tranquility. As the music swept over her, Hinata closed her eyes, allowing the sound to ease her mind. She remembered why she had loved the hall during her first visit—the sense of peace it offered.

Chloe, noticing how Hinata was absorbed in the music, leaned closer to Rimuru, her voice barely above a whisper. “Hinata seems lost in her own world.”

Rimuru’s gaze shifted toward Hinata, who was clearly entranced by the melody, before returning his attention to Chloe. Without realizing it, his attention was drawn back to her when he felt a subtle shift in the air. Her hand, which had been resting beside him, held his face, catching him off guard.

Her lips met his. Their exchanged was long and passionate, most of which were actions made by Chloe. She played with his tongue, their lips moving with desire. She leaned back her face to look at his expression.

As the trail of saliva was cut from their lips. She looked at him with hungry eyes as he blushed deeply from her action. She licked her lips, “You know Rimuru-san…” She whispered to his ear.

“I might be fine with Hinata-san, but I’m still your first.” Her tone was alluring, but there was something in it that made the hairs on Rimuru’s neck stand up, an unsettling chill creeping down his spine. “I get jealous too…”

Her hand slid onto his thigh. Rimuru glanced at Hinata, his expression tense with nervousness. Before he could react, he felt her hand begin to move upward.

“Please look only at me right now,” Chloe’s hand began trailing upwards his thigh. “Rimuru-san,” she said, her expression smiling, as he realized this was going to be a long date.
