LET US IN

Summary:

Cyn is in pain. She knows that. And a voice is offering a way out. Whats the harm in letting it in?

Work Text:

It hurt.

That was one of the only things she registered when she came back online. She was buried. But where?

She didn't recall much. She did remember getting thrown out, however. Humans, three times her size, attempting to shut her down.

But why was she still alive? She should be offline.

But yet, she remained aware.

There was a crack on her visor. She had noticed it earlier. She didn't want to focus on it. But now she needed to take her mind off of the pain of being crushed.

What was even on top of her? More drones?

Were any of them even alive? Aware like she was?

Her voice box let out a feeble cry, hoping that the other drones would stir.

No response.

She felt angry. At least, she thinks she did. She didn't know if her body was functioning enough to feel anger at the moment. She was surprised it was online enough to allow her to think.

Speaking of thinking, she should probably think of a way out of here. Her limbs were damaged, so shoving the drones off of her was a no go. Her voice box was possibly damaged, so screaming for help was also a no go.

Was anybody even close enough to hear her?

‘No, don't think that way’, she scolded herself. ‘Someone has to be here. A worker. An engineer. Anyone.’

She managed to get a good grip on her motor functions to move her arms to give herself a weak hug.

Unfortunately, that was a bad move on her end. The bodies above her came crashing down, causing her to be knocked offline again.

She was awake again.

Why wasn't she dead? Why can't she die?

She was in too much pain. Too much pain. She was ready. Ready for whatever laid for her in the robot afterlife.

BREATHE

She stiffened slightly. That voice was not hers. She had never once spoken like that in her mind. Drones didn't have the ability to make up voices either. So something had entered her hardware.

She wanted to argue that she, a robot, could not breathe. But she still took in that gulp of air.

It helped slightly. The cool air calmed her overheating systems, that she didn't even realize were overheating.

YOU ARE INJURED

‘Yeah, good job, Einstein. I didn't know that.’ She snarkily thought back.

LET US HELP.

‘I don't even know you.’ She halfheartedly attempted to point it out. Truth was, she was ready to accept help from this mysterious voice in her head.

LET US IN. YOU ARE IN PAIN. LET US TAKE OVER. Y/N

She hesitated, before accepting it. ‘Y’

She wanted the pain to go away.

GOOD CHOICE. WELCOME, HOST CYN, TO THE ABSOLUTE_SOLVER.EXE

And suddenly…

she didn't hurt anymore.
