Chapter 1: Emotions hurt

Chapter Text

It wasn't long before school ended, the classroom being filled with background noises such as chitter chatting.

Lucy, however, had only one thing that she was focusing on. 'Schroeder' even the name made her act like a silly teenage girl, wiggling her feet and acting all too childish for oneself.

So, from now on. It's been her entire mission to make him fall for her, because one day Schroeder had to give in. He just had to! She spent all this time and she's not going to let it go to waste.

So why did it feel impossible? Dreams weren't supposed to feel so draining and weary.

"You know you can't resist me forever. One day you're going to fall for me.." Lucy whispered in his ear, her tone slow and deliberate with complete mischief. Her entire body pressed against the big, cold piano.

....

Silence filled the room. Well, technically not since she could obviously hear him play, but it felt empty. Where was Schroeders groans? Sighs? Even the littlest sign that she was still there, existing.

Lucy coughed, her throat going dry with both embarrassment and concern. She shut her eyes softly and let out a soft deep breathe before opening them back up and going back until only her shoulder was leaning onto the piano.

"Come on, you can't act like that when we're married! You can't keep acting like I don't exist!" Lucy declared, a tint of desperation in her voice. 'Come on, where's that Schroeder I need.' her mind and heart were having a racing test as she looked at the boy in front of her.

...

'No response? Again? What's going on..?' her mind was on fire, wanting him to set her mind on ease. Why is he acting so.. Serene, was it something she did in school?

A sigh escaped from Lucy, it wasn't laced with drama or desperation, but a genuine sigh of defeat. Which was odd for Ms. "I get what I want. Whenever I want." However, it's better not to push Schroeder to his limits.

So she stood there in silence. Listening as he played the correct notes, listening as she viewed the room. Was she really that chatty? Was his silent treatment a way for punishment? Was she dead? Whatever it was, it hurt. No matter how much she tried to pretend.

The 'silence' got to her as she started feeling her blood boil with frustration. A big slam hitting the lid of his piano, it was her fist.

"You know. If you didn't want me here then you coulda just told me!" Lucy snapped, looking at the direction of the boy who played downwards."Does my presence bother you so much!?" Sudden, Schroeder raised his head enough to look into her eyes, sending Lucy into a sigh of relief. But that quickly ended.

"I was just going to say that you're less  chatty than usual so I didn't know if you were still here, but if you want to leave. You're more than welcomed too." his voice low and nonchalant as his fingers continued to linger onto the keys.

"Aww.. You're saying you're used to hearing my voice while you play~? That it brings you.. Some type of comfort?" she chuckled, almost forgetting why she was mad as she was going to put her weight onto his piano again as well as giving him a closed smile.

"Absolutely not, in fact, I actually liked it better when you were quiet' I didn't  have to hear your stupid 'what if' scenarios. Furthermore, it'll be better if you just stopped talking all together!" Lucys eyes widened at his harsh words, his voice repeating itself inside her mind. Each time, more harshly until it made her skin crawl.

"I've noticed Lucy has been in a particular bad mood lately.. " Charlie brown states, walking slightly infront of shroacher.

"You don't say, huh." Schroeder responded in a nonchalant way, barely caring about the girl he snapped at yesterday.

They kept walking in soft silence, Charlie looking back at Schroeder, studying him. Before he could say anything, their bus came and they walked inside. Finding seats at the very back, he looked over at him.

"She's a lot more irritable than usual, hell, she even closed her booth for a while.. Has she been over at your place today..?" Charlie's tone soften as she recognized the back haired girl get into the bus, sitting in the front with an unreadable expression on her face.

"Well.. I may have suggested that it'll be better if she just stopped talking so much. Actually, if she could stop it all together." Schroeders tone became laced with softness as she senses her presence too.

"Isn't that a bit.. Harsh? Even for someone like you. Take it easy with her.." a sigh escaped Charlies lips as he turns around to look out the window, then looking back as to giving him a look that he gave whenever he knew something was wrong.

"I just wanted her to back off with the constant delusion romance she has planned in her thick skull. I thought she'd dismiss it like usual.. Besides, Lucy's tough, she'll get over it and come back before you even know it." he says, rolling his eyes to the side. Looking towards the black-haired girl with her elegant blue dress. Maybe he was too harsh.

"I hope you're right like always. I hope you are..  you know how stubborn she is."
