Chapter Text
I've been waiting for someone to be able to read this.
For so long, I thought no one ever would.
I've been here so long.
The days bleed into nights, and the nights stretch into something even darker. Time stopped meaning anything a long time ago.
So very long.
Long enough that I forgot what warmth feels like. What a voice sounds like when it isn’t my own echoing back at me.
It gets lonely, y'know?
At first, I told myself it wouldn’t be so bad. That I’d adjust. That maybe someone—anyone—would come. But no one did. No one ever does.
Being here for this long.
It changes you. The silence becomes a second skin, and the shadows whisper in voices you almost recognize. But they aren’t real. None of it is real.
But you are.
Aren’t you?
I think you are.
