SEONG GI-HUN had never really given much thought about how he would die when that unfortunate time came. Mind you, he never really thought about the ideology of it all until he had been almost knocking on deaths door, each friend gone as the days went on.
It didn't scare him now — the thought of death. Each ticking moment was a second closer to his final breath, his final night alive. He had seen enough to accept the thought of joining them in the afterlife, greeting them as equals.
But his words would not be heard by them, nor those who surrounded him in the present time. He was alone, isolated in his own mind, a constant flashback of those violent acts eating him alive. This — this was worse than death.
It was like a trap door, locking him away from the life he deserved, a life he should be living. But he was weighed down, forced to suffer this unspeakable pain.
He hoped, he just hoped that someone would hear his desperate cries of help, hear the lingering pain in his voice. But maybe, it was time to greet death like an old friend.

A story in which Gi-hun finds himself being saved by someone he can only describe as his guardian angel until they end up disappearing off the face of the earth. It was their turn to be saved now. He had to find his guardian angel before it was too late.

There will be a lot of references to characters from both Season 1 and Season 2 and this story is based in the period between him leaving the games in 2020 and before he went back into the games in 2023 onwards.
