Six minutes past the nightly hour of Visitation, Julian awoke to the glow of Garak’s dream log in the 0300 darkness.
“What’d they give you?”
After clearing his throat, Garak read aloud what he’d transcribed. “No one may with certainty foresee the corners around the corner. If one wishes to redirect his steps, he must begin to walk. It is as easy to mark a fortune as to bemoan a privation. One’s pain may be eased by the joining of breathing to breath. Abso—”
“Wait, hold on… breathing to breath? What do they mean?”
Garak shrugged. “Absolute knowledge is death.”
