SVT spaceship is in danger. They run out the fuel. It's only an hour before the ship stops working and blows out so they decide to fly out with the small jet attached to the bottom deck of the main ship. Problem arises when the small jet only has 12 seats. One of them have to stay and use the escape pod which it doesn't have the machine to move so yes it will only float in the space waiting for the team to rescue them. Everyone just silenced, standing still. No one would dare to voicing their thoughts because they knew they have to leave one of them alone in this unknown space.
“I will stay” Wonwoo volunteered, surprising the rest of the team.
“No. You'll go. I'll stay. I'm the leader here. I must take the responsibility” Seungcheol disagrees, but Wonwoo insists.
“Your parents are waiting, you have Jeonghan here. You guys literally have your family waiting back in your home. I have no one. My parents left me. I don't have a family. I don't have a lover too. I'm the best candidate, tho”
“It doesn't mean you're the one who will stay. It's dangerous here. No one can guarantee you will save before we rescue you later” Jeonghan persuaded Wonwoo to think twice before he decided to stay on the ship. He can't leave him alone in this unknown place.
“At least if my journey ends here, no one will cry for losing me”
“Wonwoo hyung please don't say that” Wonwoo sees his dearest little brothers Chan, Seungkwan, and Seokmin cry. He chuckles and hugs them all once.
“Awwww seeing you guys cry like this means you're afraid to lose me, aight? Finally, the maknaes admitting that you all love me that much”
“Hyung, this isn't the right time to tease us. We can't leave you alone. I'm scared. We're all scared”
This is the first time Wonwoo sees Minghao being so emotional and full of worries, making him want to cry. But he knows he can't.
“It's not like I'll forever live here, you guys are going to rescue me back here as soon as you arrive on earth” It's just sweet talk and nonsense because Wonwoo didn't know if he could escape from the explosion using the escape pod, floating around and wait for the team to rescue him back. It's impossible. It takes 23 years journey from earth to the coordinate point where their ship now place, and they won't rescue him.
“So what are you guys waiting for, go arrange your stuffs” Wonwoo hushed the rest of the team to bring out all of their belongings.
“Won, I promise we'll rescue you. I promise we'll bring you back home” Seungcheol hugs him tight, Wonwoo can tell Seungcheol is crying. "I swear to god we'll bring you home" Jeonghan is crying too. Their voices were shaky when they promised Wonwoo they would bring him home.
“I know, I know. Go, now. It's 20 minutes left. I'll prepare my escape pod”
But there's one person who stands still, not saying a single word. Kim Mingyu. Wonwoo's unrequited love since this mission started. “This will be the last time I see him, at least please say something or hug me” Wonwoo thought. “He didn't say anything, is he happy because I'm the one who'll stay and being trapped here? It's kinda hurt” Wonwoo wants to say his goodbye words to Mingyu but he's scared. He's scared of rejection.
6 Minutes have passed and now all of them are back to the main deck, backpacks all on their shoulders. “We're all ready,” said Joshua. “Wait for us, kay?”
Jeonghan hugs and kisses his forehead. One by one hugging Wonwoo's tight especially Soonyoung, he can't let Wonwoo go “I freaking hate you, I hate you so much” said Soonyoung in his hug. “Nah, you love me. I love you too, Kwon Soonyoung”
Except Mingyu. He doesn't hug him at all. He only stares at him, until he breaks his silence "I'll prepare the jet" In the end, he gives Wonwoo a small smile and a tap on his shoulder. Wonwoo doesn't know what the younger is thinking but it hurts. Does Mingyu hate him that much until he doesn't want to give Wonwoo a final hug? words?
“Take care, you all. Have a safe journey”
“We'll rescue you, Won. Please be safe until we come”
“Will do. Now go!”
Wonwoo runs to the flight deck, helping them to unlock the small jet from the main ship. “Wonwoo-yah, we love you” Wonwoo laughs at Jun's sudden confession from the flight interphone.
RELEASING IN 3, 2, 1....
They're gone
And Wonwoo is alone... “Now it's time to prepare my escape pod”
5 minutes before the explosion, he runs to the main deck, picks up his belongings, and runs again to the lower level of the ship. “Can't believe I have to die in space like this” Wonwoo laughs, trying to accept his fate. Opening the connecting door between the escape pod and the main ship, Wonwoo was stunned. he's beyond shocked.
“M-mingyu... What are you doing here?”
“Preparing the escape pod”
“Why did you.... How on earth you didn't go with the rest? Are you crazy?”
“Yes, I'm crazy for the fact I'll leave you alone like this. I can't. I can't leave you”
“You're dumb, Min. You do know they won't rescue us, it takes many years to come back here. We don't even know if we can survive the explosion. We don't even know if we can survive after this”
“That's why I stay. Even if we can't survive, at least I will die with someone I really love”
Wonwoo's knee becomes weak. Mingyu.... Loves him?
“Kim Mingyu....”
“I love you. I can't leave you alone. I can't let you go. Please let me stay with you”
Wonwoo cries, so after all this time, his love is requited. Mingyu loves him back.
“You don't know how- oh god Min... I love you too” Wonwoo runs to Mingyu, The younger welcomes him with a hug, and peppers him with kisses.
“Marry me after we're back home?” Wonwoo smiles so wide with Mingyu's sudden marriage proposal. He knows it’s just nonsense because they all know they can’t escape. But let them be happy for the last time.
“Wait, did you- wow, propose me? Really, Kim Mingyu?"
"The answer is only yes or yes"
"Only you can save us from the explosion, You can marry me”
“Trust me we'll run from the explosion. We'll survive, Won. Just mark my words.”
5 minutes left, they try to unlock the escape pod.

2 crews were pronounced dead. They failed to escape. They can't survive the explosion.
