Work Text:

Jekyll sat in his room, faint music coming from downstairs. The Lodgers were having a party about something or other, but Jekyll didn't feel like celebrating. Ever since he woke up with Hyde gone and a new hairstyle reflecting their merge, things haven't been quite the same. Sometimes he thought Hyde was still there. But he would catch the streak of blonde in his hair, and remember that he wasn't anymore. It was both crushing and freeing. That wild, near annoying voice in his head was now replaced with silence.

But just as Jekyll was starting to pull at his hair and drown in his own thoughts, Lanyon walked in, taking his partner's hands in his own. "And what are you doing in here all by your lonesome?" He asked, a smile on his face. "I'm just thinking. About what happened. Missing Hyde." Lanyon, seeing the underlying grief in Jekyll's eyes, grabbed him by the shoulders, spinning him around. "What are we doing?" "This my dear, is dancing. It's said to be good for you," Lanyon says as he twirls Henry again. "Is it working?" Jekyll laughed, small but noticeable. "I suppose," he joked. The two continued to dance, silently enjoying each other's company.

"What am I supposed to do now?" Henry mumbled in Robert's shoulder, the two having come to a standstill. "I don't know," Lanyon responded. "It's just, with Hyde gone, it's like a part of me is gone with him." "Henry, he was a part of you. And even though he's gone, he's still here. Well, kind of." He ran his fingers through the blonde streak in Jekyll's hair, tucking it behind his ear to see his green eye. "And with him gone, it's not like he's just forgotten. You still have his memories, you told me that." Henry looked up at him, a lovesick sigh escaping his nose. "How do you know how to say the exact right thing?" "Maybe it's just a talent, darling." Henry giggled before pulling Robert in for a kiss. It was short, but tender and full of love. And once they pulled apart, Henry led the dance.
