Work Text:
If anyone ever tells you to work at Club pentagon, don’t. Being a promoter, hell, even a regular employee is a one way street to shit. Fuck, working at this club gives you a shitty social life because the shifts are so ridiculous, despite closing at 12AM - closing up takes an hour, then walking home leads to you just about getting home for 2AM, so you can wake up again at 7AM and get there for 8, leaving no time for anything else. It doesn’t pay you enough to even feed yourself for the week, but it’s just about better than any other club within a 5 mile walking distance from his apartment so he’s stuck with it.
If he’s being honest, the most Nam-gyu has gotten out of working here was a couple good looking peoples number, which he never bothered catching up with, a few drinks from a more positive group coming in, some low-grade drug that people claim to get you fucked up - Really, all it causes is going to work with a migraine. And of course, drunk guys (and girls every now and then) coming up and flirting with Nam-gyu,
who they think is a girl.
Total bullshit! Okay, sure, he grew his hair out a while back, but what difference should that make to the rest of his appearance? In his opinion, he looks like a guy from the front, guy from the back. He doesn’t understand how people screw such a simple thing up so badly. It’s one thing to flirt with him from behind, it’s another to flirt with him once he finally turns around.
And this routine happens every day without fail.
Which brings us to today, Nam-gyu is on bartending for the night since Se-mi didn’t show up for her shift, as always, leaving Nam-gyu to pick up her slack. As the evening progressed, multiple people came and went, a few stopping to flirt with him before realising their mistake - Offering a small “My bad, have a good night dude.” with a brisk wave, staggering to the door.
With the music blaring, lights flashing, everyone being on the dance floor, Nam-gyu decided it was time for a (admittedly unofficial) break. Swiftly moving the glasses on top of his head Nam-gyu took a cigarette out his pocket, lighter along with it, quickly flicking the lighter to life - igniting the cigarette.
Taking a drag, he looked up to see a figure with vibrant purple hair, wearing an oversized graphic tee mentioning some random artist he’s never heard of, both wrists covered with some spike bracelets, tattoos disappearing momentarily behind them, before continuing down to his painted nails - paired with some baggy washed out jeans and designer brand trainers, god knows who the brand is, stumbling towards the bar. His hair styled in almost small devil horns - It was cute, though he’d never admit that out loud. Said figure sat down, a slight sway to his posture, clearly drunk out his fucking mind, lazily looked up at Nam-gyu. The stranger eyed him for an uncomfortable amount of time, before he began shouting over the music.
“Heyy… señorita! You’re-” hiccuping, he continued “You’re pretty cute.. does a cutie liiike you… have a boyfriend, or, or- or what??” The other slurred, eyes glazed over.
For fuck sake. With a heavy sigh, Nam-gyu flicked out his cigarette, resting his arms on the bar, leaning towards the man. “Listen, dude. Loads of dudes like you get shitfaced, start flirting with me, or what they call flirting, but I gotta tell you. I’m not a girl, I’m a guy. A man. The chicks are all at booths or on the dance floor, okay? If you’re not here to get a drink, piss off.” he sneered. A moment of silent passed, assuming the other was still taking in his words. After a couple minutes of silence, concerned, he was about to repeat it - maybe he didn’t hear him? Before he could begin however, the other spoke.
“…Can I still flirt with you? Ddd… does a cu-cutie like you have a.. girlfriend?” The man slowly spoke, grinning from ear to ear, flushed cheeks from the alcohol.
Huh?
A beat of silence passed again, both men just staring at one another - before he answered, cheeks slowly colouring.
“N-no?.. what the fuck?? You’re drunk, dude. Go home” He sputtered, swiftly moving away, turning to busy himself with making a drink. He needed it, desperately.
…What is going on? Nam-gyu’s used to the routine, guy comes over, guy flirts, find out he’s a guy himself, and ditches. Why’s this dude staying? How drunk is he? Is he on drugs?
Breaking him out of his thoughts, the other yelled.
“Yo! Don’t ig-ignore me, bro. What’s your name?” He whined, moving to the side of the bar to see the bartender better.
After a beat of silence, and a slight glare to the man sitting at the bar, he muttered.
“Nam-gyu.”
“Huh?”
“It‘s Namgyu.”
With a small smile, he responded. “Nam-su, that’s cute.”
This guys pissing him off.
“Nam-su? it’s Nam-GYU.” Accentuating the second half - “Yeah, that-that’s what I said. Mm-mines Thanos!” he winked, the other finally facing him.
“Thanos, The dude from that marvel film? Doesn’t he like, die at the end?” He questioned, moving towards him, sipping his drink.
“Ffffuck, he dies?! My boy, why didn’t you tell me that before I named myself after him??!” Thanos whined, dropping his head to his folded arms. “Named yourself? Don’t tell me you changed your legal name to that.” Nam-gyu questioned, eyes widened.
“Fuck, no! I’m not thattt stupid, c’mon. Give me some cred-credit man! Thanos is my stage name, I only tell my…. myy- real name to close friends, you up for it?” He teased, tone light.
“You wish, man. But, honestly dude - Did you name yourself that, before even watching the films? Should’ve done some research, no?” Nam-gyu laughed, downing his drink.
“Shh- shut the fuck up. Don’t tease me, Nam-su-“
“Nam-gyu.”
“Yeah, sure. Teasing me iss..is only for my close friends, again. Soo-so! Are you one of m-my close friends, Nam-suuu?”
The other smirked, flushed, leaning towards him.
Leaning back, Nam-gyu rested his hands on the bar top.
“No, I’m not. Don’t plan to be.” He stated, before he curiously questioned “Pause, stage name? I don’t recognise you, so you can’t be that famous. What are you? Singer, Comedian, Performer?”
With a shake of his head, “No-none of the above! I, Thanos The Great, am a sup-super well known Rapper, mm-my dear Nam-su!”
“Nam-gyu!” he huffed, it’s surely not that hard to get a name right.
“Shh, Nam-su. You’re messing up my in-intro.” He pressed, slipping a finger to the others lips. Backing away, “Dude! I don’t know where your fucking hands have been, you could’ve been like..” he paused, “Fuck, I don’t know. Digging around in the trash? Actually, after that, probably putting them in other peoples mouths too - Fuck, you could’ve been with a chick for all I know.”
“Chillll, Nam-su! My hands are clean as- as can be. Probably.” Thanos countered. “…That doesn’t help cure my disgust any better, man. ” Nam-gyu groaned, ducking down to grab a water from the bars fridge - taking a few gulps.
Offering the water to the other, with a slight shake in reply, he put it back down. Staring at the other, he finally noticed his body mods.
“Shit, you got piercings? How many you got?” Nam-gyu questioned, curiosity peaked.
“Hell yeah my boy! Shit, I got facial ones, tongue one, ear ones, someee.. yeah. Ugn.. fuck hold on you gotta count my ear ones, f’rgot.” He slurred, leaning across the bar whilst turning his head to the side.
Momentarily surprised by the sudden movement, Nam-gyu quickly recovered, leaning forward too - Beginning to count his ear piercings.
He had a helix on each ear, doubles, an industrial on his right ear, and a tragus either side.
And were those fucking fork earrings? Dude.
But, focusing on the task at hand, he counted. Nine, Shit.
Leaning back, Nam-gyu confirmed “You have 9 ear ones, man. And with your eyebrow, labret and tongue, 12 total.”
“13.”
Confused, Nam-gyu stared at the other.
“Can- Can you not count? That’s twelve, dude.” With a smirk, Thanos quickly leaned towards the others ear.
“I got a mor-more personal piercing, y’know?” he whispered, laughing as he leaned back to his seat. Grimacing as he smelt the alcohol on the others breath, he took in Thanos’s words.
Flushing, he turned away - “Dude, if- if it’s personal, keep it personal. Jesus.” he stuttered, Thanos chuckling.
“My bad, my bad! Sor-sorry dude, but hey, you asked, y’know.” Waving a hand dismissively.
After a brief pause, Nam-gyu continued. “Hm, what piercing do you think would suit me? I’ve been thinking snakebites and a nostril piercing, but any others?” He glanced at the other, watching his eyes study his face.
Thanos grabbed Nam-gyu’s chin lively, tilting his head to different angles.
Nam-gyu let out a squeak of surprise, but let the other continue.
After a beat of silence, the man finally spoke.
“You have freckles.”
He stared at Thanos in confusion, “What? I mean, yeah, I guess. What’s- what’s important about my… freckles? Aren’t you like, meant to be saying what piercing I should get, not.. staring at my face?” He muttered, face heating.
“Right, shit. Yeah, yeah!” He let go of the others face, “Snakebites woul-would go hard man. Nose piercing too, but I think an eye-eyebrow one could be cool. Although, once yo-youuu get one piercing, you’ll want like…. loadsss more man. It’s why my ears are like, super pierced. I plan to get more too. But uh, don’t fill thi-this whole pretty face with metal, boy.” Thanos ranted, gesturing his hand randomly every now and then.
Dismissing the compliment, putting it up to the others drunken state, “Mh hm. I’ll get them done when I have a free day, then. Thanks, Thanos.” He smiled, eyeing the other.
Thanos flushed, glancing around the room. “Do-don’t even worry about it man. Uh, i-i’ve gotta go, see you later, Nam-su. Thanos, out, Les’ go!” He shouted, pulling a quick hand sign, scrambling out his seat to the exit. Before Nam-gyu could say a proper goodbye, the other had disappeared into the crowd. Staring at the direction Thanos went, confused, he let out a small “Bye..?” followed by a wave.
After that, the rest of his shift passed by agonisingly slow - More drunk flirtatious comments, apologies, drinks being served, some angry drunks looking for a fight before Nam-gyu defused the situation.
Finally, it reached 12AM. Bit by bit as customers began to clear out, he was cleaning the bar when his co-worker, Gyeong-su, came over.
“Nam-gyu!” He smiled, waving at the other. Looking up at him, he replied.
“Gyeong-su, hey, man. What do you need? If you’re looking for a drink, alcohols locked up for the night. Sorry. Soft drinks and water bottles are still free, though.”
“Nah, nah, All good. So, I.. have some small, very small news..” Gyeong-su sheepishly responded, crunching in on his form.
Fuck.
“…Let me guess. Se-mi’s going away for the week, Min-su can’t cover, and you’ll be waiting tables, so I have bar and promoter duties again, right?” He huffed, since this isn’t the first time this has happened.
“Haha..! Dude you should like, be a psychic or something, cause… yeah. I’m sorry, man. I tried, I swear. Boss doesn’t give enough of a shit if we’re under staffed.” Letting out a remorseful sigh, lays a hand on Nam-gyu’s shoulder.
“It’s… fine, Gyeong-su. It’s not on you. I’ve handled it before - besides, if I get desperate enough I can always pull the fire alarm and get everyone to leave.” He smirked, pushing his glasses back down. “Atta boy! Smart thinking. Listen, to make it easier I’ll close for the week, m’kay? Go get some sleep, eat some food.” Gyeong-su expressed, letting his hand fall down.
“Got it, I’ll see you tomorrow!” Nam-gyu waved, walking away. Changing back into his day clothes in the staff room, he finally started making his way home. On the way back, he couldn’t help but think of Thanos.
He didn’t even get the dudes number, absolute moron.
Though he wouldn’t admit it to anyone, ever,
he silently hoped Thanos would come in and see him again.
Next day
A few hours after Nam-gyu arrived for his shift, he begun bringing tables in, hanging out with them for a bit hoping for a good tip, getting them drinks, closing out their tabs, blah blah blah. Boring shit.
Once it hit 8PM, Nam-gyu finally made his way to the bar. Silently observing the dance floor, having another cigarette. After a while, a drunk group of girls came over to the bar -
“Heey! Hey! Bartenderrr… can- can we cloosee out my tab!” One slurred, lazily draping over the bar. “Yeah, ‘course. What’s the name?” he responded
“Mmm, Mi-na! Kang mi-na! Yeah, that’s it.” she exclaimed, eyeing the other.
“Hey, you-you’re like, lowkey hot. D-ddo you have a girlfriend?” Mi-na giggled, moving closer to him - her friends behind her chuckling and smiling.
He turned around, leaning towards her. “Girls aren’t really my crowd.” he apologised.
Seeing a confused look graze her face, before one of understanding settled.
“Oh! OH! You’re one of those, uh, Kuinn, what’s it called?” she exclaimed, snapping her fingers.
“Um, queer? Homosexual? Gay? I-I don’t know, there’s a-a-a few terms.” Kuinn slurred.
“Yeah, yeah! Queer people! Hey, bartender, you’re like- doing amazinggg! I’m a total ally, y’know? If you ever want a dudes number, come find me!” She cheered, making a heart with her fingers. With a chuckle, “Thanks? I think. Ah, your tab came to- ₩162,725.85, cash or card?”
grabbing her card, swiftly paying and moving towards the exit - not before sending a wave to Nam-gyu, receiving one back. Grinning, he turned around to clean some used glasses.
“Those girls were cute, huh. Noticed you talking to one of ‘em, you get her number or what?” a sudden voice muttered, startling Nam-gyu.
“Jesus- fuck! Dude, a little warn-“ turning around to face the voice, he saw him.
Thanos.
“-ing.. Thanos! He-hey, what’s going on?” he stuttered, face warming.
“N’ much, man” sitting down, continuing “So, did you get her number?” he questioned, a hesitant tone glazed over it.
Setting glasses back on the shelf, Nam-gyu explained “Who, Mi-na’s? No, she’s not really in my area of-“ he paused, glancing back, hesitating slightly. As he stared at Thanos’s intrigued face, he continued.
“Expertise, if you get what I mean? Her type doesn’t really, do it for me, y’know?” wearily facing the other.
Watching Thanos go from a face of confusion, to pondering, to understanding, then to excitement? happiness? - practically watching the gears turn in real time. Slamming down on the counter, then pointing a finger to Nam-gyu.
“Oh. OH! You’re- You’re gay! Shit, okay! Right, got it, got it!” He exclaimed, smile reaching his ears. With a slight chuckle, Nam-gyu opened his mouth to respond, but the other jumped in.
“Me too, y’know? Not- not gay, gay. But, I’m like- bisexual! Girls AND guys for this one” pointing a thumb at himself, grinning.
“That’s cool, man. Got any partner yet? I mean, you’re attractive, I’d be surprised if not.” He paused, freezing once he realised what he said. Seeing the others face covered in a blush, he stuttered “I-I didn’t mean that to make it sound like I was hitting on you, dude. I don’t- yeah. Um.” ending his suffering, Thanos chuckled before responding.
“Don’t even, man. A bro can tell when another bro is attractive, c’mon! Plus we got socks on, no homo.” He teased, arching an eyebrow.
Grinning, Nam-gyu’s eyes flicked down to Thanos’s wrists, missing the spiked bracelets, he saw the scars. Noticing the others gaze, “Nothing serious, man. Got into a bad mental state a while ago, did some shit. I’ve been clean, though! 2 years.” He grinned, excited at his achievement.
Pausing, Nam’gyu smiled, rolling up his black sleeves to show his own scars. Seeing the other eyeing them too, a curious glint to his eyes, he explained.
“Don’t even worry about it. And you should be proud of being clean! Plus, scars look super fucking cool, y’know. A couple years back I started trying different ways of doing drugs, ‘n came to needle spiking. I’m not really clean though. Still do it every now and then.” rolling his sleeves back down.
Taking in the information, “You’re so fucking cool man. Keep surprising me.” he cheered, staring at Nam’gyu.
After a brief moment of staring at each other, with an intake of breath, Nam’gyu turned around to busy himself with a drink.
After a few minutes of comfortable silence, he turned back to Thanos, placing a drink in-front of him.
Confused, “I didn’t order a drink, dude.” he stated, arching an eyebrow.
“I know, on the house. It’s a whiskey sour, tell me what you think.” the bartender expressed, pushing the drink towards him.
With a grin, followed by a small “Thanks, Nam-su!” “Nam-gyu.” he took a sip, taking in the flavour.
“Shit, that’s good, Nam-su! Is there lemon juice in there? I’m tastin’ some lemon.” he smiled, taking another sip.
Nodding, Nam-gyu busied himself with lighting another cigarette, then taking a drag. After a few minutes, suddenly the cigarette was snatched away from him.
“Wh- Hey!” He shouted, facing the other, words dying down when he saw Thanos taking a hit himself.
Huffing, he crossed his arms, leaning against the side of the bar - letting the other finish the cigarette.
Closing his eyes, taking in the music, his peace got cut short by a coughing fit to his left. Opening his eyes, he started laughing whilst patting the others back.
“Dude, don’t overdo it. Jesus” he chuckled, moving away as the other recovered.
“Tha-that didn’t happen, Nam-su,” “Nam-gyu.” “Yeah, yeah. I’m like, a fucking pro at taking cigs, ‘k? So, like, forget that happened.” He waved dismissively, bringing his other hand to half cover his flushed face.
Covering his own mouth, to hide his giggle, he bowed down slightly, “I shall erase my memory with the river of oblivion.” he smirked, standing back up.
Watching the others confused expression, he grimaced slightly, also waving his hand dismissively. “Reference, don’t- don’t worry about it.”
With a quick nod, Thanos noticed some hair fall in-front of his eyes - an annoyed expression placed on his face, he grabbed a strand of hair, tugging it.
Mindlessly speaking his thoughts, “Fuck sake, the purples already washing out. I swear this shit fades so fast, it’s a pain in my ass dying and bleaching it myself, plus, how am I meant to afford food when I have to buy hair dye every week!” he huffed, crossing his arms.
With a pause, Nam’gyu replied,
“I could dye it for you, at some point, y’know.” he paused, the words spewing out before his brain could catch up. Thanos looks up with surprise written on his face, “Seriously? You’d do that?” he smiled, eyes crinkling.
The other flushed, crossing his arms whilst turning away. Pushing up his glasses, he replied “I-It’s not a big deal, dude. Why are you staring at me like I just… created new life, or something??” He muttered.
Suddenly feeling a pair of arms wrap around his neck, pulling him back, then a chin rested on his shoulder.
“Nam-suuu!! How did I ever get so lucky?! I would like, love for you to dye my hair, man!” a beat of silence, followed by “Shit, we could make like a whole day out of it, my guy! Picture this, we, Thanos and Nam-su,” “Nam-GYU.” “That’s what I said. Goin’ around the town, getting cool shit, maybe graffiti some stuff, who knows, steal some shit too, get food, get hair dye, come home and BOOM! Purple hair Thanos is back again!” he exclaimed, squeezing the other tighter. Tapping Thanos’s arms slightly, he released.
With a grin, Nam-gyu turned around. “Sure, man. Just text me when you wanna go, I’ll figure something out with work.” Thanos paused, staring at the other. Did he say something wrong? What did he-
“I DON’T HAVE YOUR NUMBER!”
Thanos slammed his hands down, shouting. He earned a few glares his way, paying them no mind.
“Nam-su, number, NOW.” He yelled, drumming his fingers on the edge of the bar. “Jesus, man, okay! Keep it down, you’re gonna get me in trouble.” Nam-gyu hushed, holding his hand out for Thanos’s phone.
However, he got a hand instead.
Blushing, he stared down at their entwined hands, glancing up at Thanos, who had a blank expression.
“Du-dude. Your- your phone? I need your phone. Not your hand.” trailing off.
A look of realisation spread across Thanos’s face, before quickly retreating his hand to his pocket, placing his phone in Nam-gyu’s hand. Typing in the number and contact name, he handed the phone back.
‘Nam-gyu, -02 0124 XXXX’
Thanos grinned, changing the contact to ‘Nam-su’ before looking at Nam-gyu, seemingly deciding something. Before Nam-gyu could ask, Thanos rushed out something like “Need a contact picture!” before throwing an arm around his shoulder, pulling him towards Thanos whilst he leaned across the bar, snapping a picture.
Retreating back to his seat, grinning, he turned the phone around, showing Nam-gyu the picture.
“Looks super cute, bro! Thas’ a keeper, for sure.” Thanos cheered, pointing at the phone.
With a sigh, Nam-gyu accepted defeat.
“I’ll send you a text, man!” Thanos grinned, sending Nam-gyu a combination of emojis.
Quickly adding Thanos’s number to his phone, in retaliation, he also quickly muttered out something about a “contact picture” before pulling Thanos forward, his face smushing against Namgyu’s - flashing a hand symbol, he took the picture. Turning the phone to Thanos, “Here, now we have matching ones.” He smirked, placing the phone back in his pocket.
“Hell yeah, man! Thangyu back at it once again.” He grinned, making a heart with his fingers.
“Thangyu? The fuck is that?” Nam-gyu laughed, leaning on the counter. “It’s our names! My first half, your second half. Kinda genius, don’ you think?” while he looked happy, he did have a sheepish look in his eyes. With a grin, “Yeah, man. It’s fucking genius.” Nam-gyu exclaimed, shaking his head causing a hair to fall infront of his face, watching Thanos smile fully. Pausing momentarily, smiling, Thanos reached up to brush it back behind Nam-gyu’s ear. Face heating up, just as he was about to say something, a phone alarm started to go off.
“Shit, that’s mine. Fuuuuckk, I’ve gotta go, Nam-su! Hey, text me, ‘k? I’ll see you later!” he rushed off, waving. Thanos got a rushed “S-see you, dude!”, before rushing out the club. Leaving behind a flushed Nam-gyu, Thanos took out his phone to look at his contact, blushing.
And if Thanos added a heart to ‘Nam-su’, well, no one but him had to know.
A couple weeks later
Ever since Nam-gyu and Thanos exchanged numbers, they’ve chatted every single day. When Thanos isn’t at the club, he’s messaging Nam-gyu, practically all day every day.
They’ve become inseparable.
If someone asked him who he’s closest to, he’d say Thanos. Which is kind of depressing, considering the fact he’s known his co-workers a few years, and he’s known Thanos for a few weeks.
Moving on, Thanos and Nam-gyu did in-fact end up hanging out. Nam-gyu got his snakebites pierced, along with his nose and did end up dying Thanos’s hair. He tried to persuade Nam-gyu into dying a streak of his purple, claiming “Then people will know you’re friends with THE legend Thanos, it goes hard man!” but he let it off with a swift “I don’t wanna damage my hair man, purples your thing anyway.”
And if that dying session ended up with Nam-gyu staring into Thanos’s eyes too intensely, breaking the one sided tension by pushing his face away spitting out a “Your breath stinks.” No one but Nam-gyu has to know that.
Unfortunately, Nam-gyu has fallen head over heels in love with Thanos.
That fucker, of course it’d be him! With his stupid purple hair, stupidly attractive piercings, so what if he’s thought about how a kiss with that tongue piercing would feel? That’s his problem, and his alone.
Although, of course, based on Nam-gyu’s luck, Thanos does not like him back. Sure when they first met Thanos’s intention was to flirt with him, but after becoming friends, and both getting drunk one night, he brung up that situation.
“Dude, remember whe-when you first met me, ‘n you trieddd…. flirt-flirting with me? That was like, super fucking stupid, right?” Nam-gyu stuttered, lazily sprawling out on Thanos’s sofa. Due to the other sitting on the floor, he couldn’t see Thanos’s face expression as he answered.
“Yeah, man. Super fucking stupid.” and if there was a brittle tone to Thanos’s words, Nam-gyu was too drunk to catch on.
Bringing us to tonight, Nam-gyu was on promoter duties - thanks to Se-mi finally coming in to actually do her job.
He began bringing in a few good size tables, getting their drink orders down and bringing them to the parties personally - hanging out with them a bit, doing some drugs, though not enough to cause a full on high, just enough to get a light buzz, calming him.
After checking his recent table out, counting the cash, he spotted Thanos sitting at one of the booths. Although, he wasn’t alone.
There were a few randoms he’d never seen before all sat around the table, and a couple chicks sitting next to Thanos, one with his arm around her shoulder.
Fuck.
He paused, stopping his count. He eyed the group for a while, watching the pretty girls laugh and joke with Thanos, delicately placing a hand on his arm, shoulder, face, hands, fuck - anywhere they could. And Thanos would willingly lean into the affection, brushing a hair out their face every now ‘n then.
It fucking tore him up inside.
So he watched, god knows for how long, watching Thanos share his drugs with the girls, he assumed flirting with them, them flirting back, because, come on, who wouldn’t flirt with Thanos? them kissing his cheek playfully. It just went on and on, but he couldn’t stop staring.
Then it happened, one of the girls took a mouthful of Thanos’s drink, grabbing his chin, pulling him in closer, looking at his lips.
And as he watched Thanos lean in too, mouth beginning to part, he moved. He couldn’t bare to see that shit, he went to one of his tables, and began chatting with them. As the night went on, he drunk drink after drink, losing count after a while. And once his table brought out drugs, he just couldn’t resist.
The thought of mixing didn’t even cross his mind, he just wanted to get that fucking image out his head. Thanos grabbing her waist, practically pulling her onto his lap.
Drifting back to the scene at hand, he laughed and chatted with his table, not even noticing the guy next to him start inching closer. Fuck, he was high out his mind. The room was spinning and he could barely make out any words being said, just nodding and laughing when it felt appropriate. And when he felt a pair of hands on his waist, pulling him to rest on one of the guys leg, he couldn’t move away. His movements were too sluggish and he didn’t have the energy. Okay, sure, he’s done mixing before - but it never felt like this. Did he take something else? How strong were these guys drugs?
Then a sudden thought entered his head,
did these dudes put something in his drink?
Fuck, he’s been aware of roofies but he never thought it’d happen to him.
Eventually growing tired, he just rested there - nothing was actually happening, he was just sat on a guys leg, unwillingly, sure, but the guy wasn’t doing anything, and Nam-gyu was so exhausted, fuck, even beginning to feel nauseous. Clearly, the stranger took this as an invitation, and decided to begin untuck Nam-gyu’s shirt, hands laying on his bare skin. Nam-gyu did try letting out a soft “Stop.” along with a weak push of the guys hands, but it didn’t seem to deter him in anyway.
Just as the hands began to drift lower, a sudden voice came from his right.
“Who the fuck are you?” an agitated tone present, who he was talking to, Nam-gyu had no clue. Turning, his vision was too blurry to make out the persons face - the drugs, alcohol and whatever the fuck these guys did, doing shit to his body, and fuck knows where his glasses went. He managed to make out some purple.
Pause, purple?
“What’s your problem? The real question is who the fuck are YOU, coming over to our booth.” The voice behind him spoke, god knows what his name is.
“Get your hands off him, now.” He snapped, beginning to pull Nam-gyu’s hand, dragging him to a standing position, stumbling.
Despite the haze taking over his body, “Thanos..?” he slurred, feeling familiar hands hold him still.
Thanos looked down at him, gaze softening. “Hey, hey, Nam-su. Are you okay? What did these fuckers do?” a worried tone making its way into his words.
The man that was harassing Nam-gyu began to stand up, “We didn’t do shit. Pretty boy here had some drugs, did some mixing, drunk some.. drink.” he smirked, tone teasing. The rest of the group laughed.
“And who do you think you are,” walking over, attempting to grab Nam-gyu, before Thanos moved him behind his back. “Taking what’s not yours, anyway? He came and sat with us willingly, plus we’re paying him, so we can do whatever the fuck we want.” The stranger sneered, crossing his arms.
Momentarily letting go of Nam-gyu, Thanos shoved the guy forward.
“The fuck you can, touch him again and I’ll fucking kill you. And your friends.” anger lacing his tone, pushing an accusing finger to the guys chest, making him fall back onto the seat.
“Stay the fuck away from him, asshole.”
Thanos sneered, turning back around to Nam-gyu.
“Hey, what- what do you need? Food? Water? Where’s uh, fuck what’s her name? Se-mi? Yeah, yeah, your friend Se-mi, where’s she-“ abruptly interrupted, Nam-gyu slurred.
“G’nna throw up..” beginning to gag, stumbling back. Thankfully, Thanos grabbed him, pulling him to the bathroom. They made it there in time, dragging Nam-gyu to a stall.
At last, he retched into the toilet, puking up all the shit he ingested over the last few hours. He emptied his stomach a couple times, Thanos rubbing his back soothingly.
After dry heaving for a while, he finally wiped his mouth, flushing the toilet. “M’ done…” he hiccuped, tear marks flowing down his face.
Thanos wrapped Nam-gyu’s arm around his shoulder, standing and moving towards the sink so he could wash out his mouth. After doing this a couple times, Nam-gyu lost his energy, turning around and sliding his back down the front of the sink. Thanos sat down with him, moving Nam-gyu’s head to lean on his shoulder.
Through his dreary state, “M’ fi-fine, Thanos. Youu… you can go back to your, your friends. And them prettyyyy… girls. Which- which one are you seeing?” Nam-gyu slurred, eyes closed.
“Huh? Girls? Oh, Yu-mi and Seo-yeon?” Thanos supplied, causing Nam-gyu to groan. “Ffuuuckkkk, they have pretty names too. Can’t- can’t compete with tha’, can I..?” he whined, dragging his knees closer to hold.
“What? Compete? Nam-su, what are you talking about?” confused laced his tone. “I saw you- n’ one of the girls, nearly kissin’. Yo-ou shoul’ go be with her, y’know? Not me.” he muttered, biting his lip to hold back tears.
“I didn’t kiss anyone, Nam-su. That’s my friend, Seo-yeon. We’ve been friends since we were in like, kindergarten. That almost kissing thing is like an inside joke, she cut her hair short one year and we were at a party and I thought she was a guy, I didn’t realise it was her, fuck I was like, high as balls man. And so I nearly kissed her, before I recognised her smell and jumped the fuck back!” Thanos laughed, reminiscing the memory. “Besides, she likes chicks man.” he finished.
Oh. Oh.
“Fuck, I feel like such an idiot! God, damnit!” Nam-gyu cried, covering his face with his hands. Once again, he spoke without thinking,
“The only reason I went to that dudes booth is cause I got jealous, I thought she was your girlfriend. Fffuckkk!” he huffed, slumping down more, digging his palms into his eyes.
“You got jealous?” a soft voice broke his train of thought, realising his mistake.
“Shit, um. No, I mean, yes? Fuck, I don’t-“ his blabbering got cut short,
“I like you, Nam-gyu.”
Huh?
Practically fucking short circuiting, Nam-gyu slowly removed his hands, looking at Thanos’s expression. His cheeks were flushed, a lazy grin on his face, eyes half closed, looking at Nam-gyu.
“…You used my name.” Nam-gyu muttered, face slowly heating up. “And I think you,” Thanos paused, entangling their hands, staring at Nam-gyu,
“deserve to use mine. It’s Su-bong, Choi Su-bong.” he slowly rubbed a thumb over Nam-gyu’s knuckles, watching the other.
Tears began falling down Nam-gyu’s face, wrapping his arms around Thanos’s neck, pulling him in for a hug.
“I’m sor-sorry you had to deal with me, tonight,” he hiccuped, “Su-bong.”
Pulling back slightly, Thanos rubbed at Nam-gyu’s tears, “My name sounds so fucking cool coming from you.” he spoke softly, quickly leaning in, lips meeting Nam-gyu’s.
Fuck, he always thought people were exaggerating about kisses. Whenever people described them as “fireworks practically going off, like they’d found a new way to breathe” whenever they kissed someone, he called bullshit.
But kissing Nam-gyu? Fuck, it’s like he discovered a new world. Pulling back for oxygen, before going back in, hands grabbing anywhere he could. Butterflies hammering against his ribs, jesus, even they were practically attracted to Nam-gyu. And them fucking snakebites he recently got? They’re killing him, man.
Nam-gyu was warm. So, so warm.
Pulling back, Thanos looked down at the other, giggling at his flushed face. “How was that, ‘susu?” tone teasing, “It- it was, uh, good. Really good. So, that’s what your tongue piercing feels like, huh?” letting out a breath, pausing, “‘Susu? Where’d that come from?” He grinned, fangs showing.
“It’s your name! Nam-su, ‘susu. I think it’s cute, what, you don’t like it?” Thanos smiled, booping Nam-gyu’s nose.
“I like it. Love it, even.” he spoke, pulling Thanos down for another kiss.
He gave in without discussion.
Pulling back once more, gazing at Nam-gyu, “I think you’re prettier than any girl out there, ‘susu. Way prettier.” he spoke, resting his forehead on the others, wiping his tear tracks away.
So what if they ended up falling asleep, causing Gyeong-su and Se-mi to find them leaning on one another, snoring lightly.
And if the both of them took a picture? Well, they’ll never admit that willingly. Yet somehow, Nam-gyu ended up with a copy of it in his photos.
He takes it back, if anyone ever tells you to work at Club pentagon, do. Don’t get me wrong, being a promoter, hell, even a regular employee, is a one way street to shit. Fuck, working at this club gives you a shitty social life, because the shifts are so ridiculous, despite closing at 12AM - closing up takes an hour, then walking home leads to you just about getting home for 2AM, so you can wake up again at 7AM and get there for 8, leaving no time for anything else. It doesn’t pay you enough to even feed yourself for the week, but it’s just about better than any other club within a 5 mile walking distance from his apartment, so he’s stuck with it.
And of course, drunk guys (and girls every now and then) coming up and flirting with Nam-gyu who they think is a girl.
But, thanks to all that, and working at Club pentagon, got him Thanos. So, it clearly can’t be that bad.
