One summer morning, the Eds were sitting on a sidewalk curb. They were the only ones at the cul-de-sac because most of the other kids were gone for the day.
"Great. Another day where we're stuck by ourselves. I'm bored," Eddy complained.
"There must be some way to cure our boredom, Eddy," Edd encouraged.
"I know! We can build a rollercoaster," Ed suggested.
"Didn't we already do that?" Eddy reminded.
"Yes," Edd confirmed. "I'd rather not remember. What gave you that idea, Ed?"
"I saw a video where two kids built a rollercoaster in their backyard," Ed informed. Edd and Eddy stared in disbelief.
"Really?" Eddy asked. "They built an entire rollercoaster in their backyard?"
"Surely, you jest," Edd said. "A rollercoaster would require much more space than that of an average suburban backyard."
"I can show you the video," Ed said. "It's on YouTube."
"Alright, let's watch it then," Eddy suggested. "Beats sittin' out here, doin' nothin'."
The Eds were now in Edd's bedroom and they were using his computer to go on YouTube.
"What are the names of those two kids you mentioned, Ed?" Edd asked.
"Phineas and Ferb," Ed answered.
Edd typed 'Phineas and Ferb' and 'rollercoaster' into the search bar. Then, he found the video and the Eds started watching it. The video was basically a replay of the P&F episode, 'Rollercoaster', except it only showed the Phineas and Ferb parts. It started with them sitting under the tree in their backyard. Phineas was complaining about being bored and when he said summer vacation should be like a rollercoaster, he got the idea to build one. There was a montage of Phineas and Ferb building and riding the rollercoaster and after it was somehow gone, they were back in their backyard. One of the neighborhood kids asked Phineas if they could ride the rollercoaster again and when he said one ride per customer, that was the end of the video. Edd and Eddy were surprised by what they saw.
"Cool, huh?" Ed asked.
"Indeed it is," Edd agreed. "I find it fascinating that Phineas and Ferb were able to construct a fully functional rollercoaster within a single day. Usually, it would take at least a year."
"I don't get it," Eddy said. "How come their rollercoaster scam worked and ours didn't?"
"First of all, Eddy, Phineas and Ferb weren't scamming anyone. Their project was only for leisure purposes. Secondly, their rollercoaster was built using the proper materials while ours was only made from items we found in the junkyard," Edd explained.
"So, Phineas and Ferb built the coolest coaster ever and didn't even charge money for it?" Eddy realized.
"That's correct," Edd confirmed.
"I can't believe that! They could've gotten rich off that rollercoaster! Why would they not charge money for it?" Eddy ranted.
"They're not concerned about money. They just want to enjoy summer vacation," Edd replied.
"What a load of bunk," Eddy grumbled.
"I wish we could meet Phineas and Ferb," Ed commented.
"So do I," Edd agreed. "I'm very impressed by their mechanical inclination. Just think of all the things they can construct."
Just then, Eddy got an idea. If he could somehow convince Phineas and Ferb to build something else and charge money for it, he could get rich off of their project.
"Guys," Eddy said with a mischievous grin. "I know what we're gonna do today."
"Build a rollercoaster?" Ed guessed.
"No. We're gonna pay a visit to Phineas and Ferb," Eddy corrected.
"Pardon me, Eddy, but how do you suggest we locate Phineas and Ferb?" Edd asked. "We have no idea where they live."
"Easy. We'll just ask the guy who posted the video. Let's check his profile," Eddy suggested.
Edd clicked on the profile and read it. "The person who made the video is an individual named Irving. He has his own website called 'The Phineas and Ferb Fansite' and he uses his collection of spy cameras to post videos of their projects on YouTube," Edd informed.
"Spy cameras? What is he, obsessed?"
"He must be if he's willing to violate their privacy."
"Does he say where they live?"
"No, but perhaps we can find the answer to that question on his website."
The Eds found 'The Phineas and Ferb Fansite'. It was the same one Irving created in the P&F episode, 'Not Phineas and Ferb'. The main page of the website had a picture of Phineas and Ferb's backyard in the background. In the picture, Phineas and Ferb were looking at blueprints and Irving was holding a camera while hiding behind a tree. There were two tabs on the left side of the webpage; one said 'Facts' and the other one said 'Photos'. The Eds wanted to see if Phineas and Ferb had any more big ideas besides the rollercoaster so Edd clicked on the 'Photos' tab and opened up a new page. The Eds were amazed after looking through all the pictures of Phineas and Ferb's inventions.
"What a discovery!" Edd exclaimed. "Not only are Phineas and Ferb able to complete large projects in a short amount of time but they can successfully tamper with the laws of science as well."
"Phineas and Ferb are geniuses. They should be drowning in money right now," Eddy commented.
Edd went back to the main page and clicked on the 'Facts' tab. Then, he found a list of facts regarding Phineas and Ferb and read it.
"It says here they live in Danville," Edd pointed out.
"How do we get to Danville?" Eddy asked.
"We can drive there," Ed suggested.
"We're too young to drive, Ed," Edd reminded.
"My dad has a shovel."
"Well, I say if we can't drive, we take a bus instead," Eddy suggested.
"It costs money to ride the bus, Eddy," Edd reminded.
Eddy remembered something. "Don't you have money saved up from your paper route?"
"Yes, but I'm saving it for an electron microscope."
"C'mon, Double-D. We need that money. When we get there, you can ask Phineas and Ferb to build you an electric megascope."
Edd thought about that. "I suppose so. Very well. We can use my paper route money."
"Danville, here we come!" Ed exclaimed.
