“Rey I want you to-” Kylo Ren says to Rey just before they are interrupted. There is a banging sound coming from the elevator to Snokes Throne Room. Rey ignites her saber, ready for what’s coming. Kylo Ren, however has a different plan. He takes off his tunic and starts pulling it inside out. Rey looks at him with confusion. She asks him what he’s doing. “We have to get ready for what’s coming Ben!” She holds her lightsaber up higher as the banging gets louder. Whoever is on the other side of those doors are gaining. Rey looks back at Kylo Ren, but his tunic now appears to be a jacket. One similar to Finn or Poe’s jacket. It even has a resistance logo on the arms. As Kylo fixes the jacket, he tells Rey that he always had this just in case he needed to blend in on sight. Rey is still confused. Everyone in the entire galaxy knows who Kylo Ren is. He then tells her “but they don’t know who Ben Solo is” motioning to his face. So the First Order has never seen Kylo without the mask? Rey thinks to herself. Then the doors finally open. Rey is ready to strike. Until, she sees them. Her friends! It’s Finn, Poe, and two other woman she doesn’t recognize, Rose and Kaydel Ko Connix. Finn and Rey run to hug each other. Kylo watches with concern. That’s when Poe says “Hug later, we have to get out of here, the First Order is behind us!” He grabs Finn by the arm. Rey looks around. She asks Ben if there’s a way out of here. Ben looks over to where Snoke’s ship is located. “Over there” he points. “Who is this guy?” Poe asks Rey. As Rey starts to open her mouth, a blaster just begins to be shot in the air. It’s the First Order. “Nobody move” We hear a Stormtrooper say. They all put their hands up. Except Ben. Rose whispers asking what they should do. Everyone looks at each other. A First Order Officer points her blaster at Ben, telling him to put his hands up. Rey looks over to Ben. He has conflict in his eyes. She knows what he’s thinking. “Ben” she turns over to him. “Don’t. I feel the light in you. Don’t do this. You can come with us” Finn looks over to them, and back to Poe. Poe is confused as to what is going on. Ben turns to Rey. He knows what he has to do. As the officers gets closer, Poe, Finn, Rose and Kaydel are slowly reaching for their blasters. Ben shakes his head to Rey, ever so slightly. At first, Rey believes that he is saying no to her, but then she realizes what he is going to do. She turns to the rest of the gang, who are reaching for their blasters. Oh no. She thinks. Then Ben, with one arm slightly behind is back, pulls the blasters away from Finn, Poe, Rose and Kaydel’s reach with the force. Then he runs to the upcoming officer and punches her in the face. Before he can do anything else, Stormtroopers already have him in his grasp. They take him to the elevator, as they are dragging him away he turns his head and yells out “I’ll come back for you, sweetheart” Rey looks back at him, nervous. She knows he is strong with the force, but if they find out he turned against the First Order, who knows what Hux will do to him. After, more stormtroopers come, and because the gang’s blasters are broken, they all get handcuffed and taken into custody. Rey tells them to not resist, while being taken. Rose replies with “We’re part of the resistance! The whole point is to resist!” In the cells, they’re all separated, but close together. Ben is nowhere in sight. Rey can’t feel him around her. She tries to connect with him through the force bond, but nothing happens. As Finn is walking back and forth, asking how they got into this mess he also asks, “Rey, who was that guy?” Rey responds with “Ben” and turns to face the wall of her cell, not looking at Finn. Ben. Ben? Poe thinks. He’s heard of a Ben. Ben Kenobi? He’s long gone. Poe walks around his cell. Ben? A Ben from the resistance? Never heard of him before. Poe taps his fingers together as he sits down. I know a Ben but from whe- Leia. He stands up. He looks at Rey, who’s back is to him. Ben, Leia. Han. Ben Solo. The fallen Jedi. He always heard his friend, Tallie, talk about this so called “fallen Jedi” who was related to someone in the resistance, but Poe never believed it. Until Now. “Ben Solo” he says quietly to himself, but looks at Rey, who moves her head ever so slightly. In the elevator. It reminds Ben of when he almost damaged his helmet earlier. He stopped himself because something inside him told him he would need his helmet soon. The handcuffs strain his wrists, but he knows he can take them off with the force. He takes it off. When the stormtroopers realize this, it’s too late, Ben ignites his lightsaber. The elevator door opens, and Ben is back to wearing his black tunic. He hurries off to his chambers to find his helmet before anyone notices him. Back in the cells, Rey is still concentrating on finding Ben through the force. Rose and Kaydel are trying to get the handcuffs off themselves. Poe has his hands buried in his face, and Finn is trying to look through the hallway of cells, trying to stick his head out. Then they all hear the lightsaber ignite. They all know who it is. They all get up as quickly as possible. Rose starts freaking out, repeating the line “Kylo Ren is going to kill us” in a quick voice. Rey runs up to her cell, smiling. He’s here. She thinks. As blasters are going off, so is the whooshing sound of the lightsaber. Poe tries to look out for Kylo Ren. He then runs to the back of his cell, looking for a way to have an advantage over Ren. Then, swiftly, Kylo Ren turns up to their cells. They all stare at him in horror. His helmet is damaged. The eyepiece is slightly burned off. They can all see his hazel brown eyes. Kylo Ren is breathing hard. He looks around, when he spots Rey, he goes to open her cell. When he does, they stand staring at each other. Rey moves forward to take off his helmet, Kylo flinches, but he lets her. Everyone gasps except Poe, who knew it was him all along. “Let’s go, there’s no time” He opens all their cells, and takes them back to the Throne Room. As they all go into Snoke’s ship, they are all wary that this could be a trap, except for Rey, who is confident that Kylo- Ben is not going to betray them. As Poe and Kaydel get the ship ready, Finn and Rose get seated. Rey is the only one left. She turns to Ben who isn’t on the ship. “C’mon Ben. Come with us. Come home.” She hold out her hand to him. Ben wants to take her hand, to leave all this behind, but he doesn’t. “You know I can’t” “You can, Ben. Please” She extends her arm. “Stormtroopers are coming. A lot of them. Go now if you want to live.” He tells Rey, who looks over to Poe ,who looks frustrated. “Go, there’s no time to waste” Ben says to Rey. A tear falls from her eye. She shuts the door on him. Ben takes a breath. He should have gone. Poe punches the ship to lightspeed and they’re off. When the stormtroopers come in, Kylo pretends to be knocked out on the floor. As Hux and a group of stormtroopers come in, he tells them “the girl and her friends attacked me and took Snoke’s ship.” Hux laughs at him and tells him to get up. As they leave the throne room, both Rey and Ben can feel that they are safe.
