I think there's a 90% chance their relationship in this fic started as fake dating. Maybe like a My Fair Lady sort of thing where someone bets Caitlyn she can clean up the scholarship girl from Zaun and Cait is all "don't mind if I do!"

Work Text:

“Okay, I’m tapping out for the day,” Vi sighed. “Not that I don’t appreciate the effort you’re putting in to get me to speak fluent hoity-toity, but my head is starting to spin.”

“No worries, love,” Caitlyn assured her from the other side of the library study room. They packed their bags up, flash cards and all. “I’m happy to help.”

“I really do appreciate it - like, the faculty and students are pretty welcoming here but you say ‘youse’ one time and if you’re lucky they’re subtle about their teeth being set on edge.”

Caitlyn snorted. “I’m hardly a reliable source for American Standard; you should have seen the looks I got the first time I asked if anyone could spare a rubber. I’m just fortunate enough to have had a few years to assimilate. And a bit of private tutoring. Anyway!” Caitlyn pressed forward, embarrassed at the self-inflicted reminder of her immense wealth and privilege. “We’ve all got our strengths and weaknesses. I mean, look at you: you can carry me over your shoulder back to your dorm room.”

“May,” Vi corrected automatically, and first Caitlyn, then Vi, blushed a deep pink.

“Yes,” Caitlyn said, very quietly, but even Vi could pick up on the need in her voice, “you may carry me over your shoulder back to your dorm room. In fact, please carry me over your shoulder back to your dorm room.”

Delighted, Vi bent like she was fixing to tackle Caitlyn on the rugby pitch, planted her shoulder in Caitlyn’s midsection, and then with a fluid motion, swung her up and over her left shoulder, then slung both bags over her right. Nice and balanced, she thought to herself, pleased. “Yeah, what are youse looking at! She asked me nicely!” she told off a pair of gawking freshmen.

“I think one of them was jealous, Violet,” Caitlyn murmured. She was distracted from too much else because, wow, Vi did not skip leg day. Or arm day. Or core day, she thought, running one hand over Vi’s back, feeling the taut muscle through her thin white tank-top. Really, it was unfair how strong her girlfriend was.

“Only one? I gotta up my game.” Vi smirked as she swiped her keycard to get into the dorm, then started demolishing the three flights of stairs between her and her bedroom door. It was nice, really, in its own way, Caitlyn thought. Having the usual hefty responsibility that pressed upon her to excel momentarily lifted. Everything was out of her hands and in Vi’s. Really, the only trouble was how uncomfortably aroused she was getting…but there might be a solution for that, too.

“You really could put me down,” Caitlyn breathed as Vi fumbled with her key.

“Not yet,” she replied, and Caitlyn could hear the wink in her voice. Instead, Caitlyn got a new perspective on Vi’s room as Vi hung their bags from her nightstand, then tugged off Caitlyn’s sandals and flung them to the side. Only then was Vi ready to toss Caitlyn onto her bed. “Whew! I think this shirt is done for the afternoon.” And, indeed, Vi had sweated through it. She peeled off the offending garment and chucked it into her hamper. “Luckily I’m doing laundry tonight; you got anything to go in?”

“Panties,” Caitlyn managed in a strangled sort of voice. Different bodily fluid, same effect. All that muscle, being used to please and protect her…the thought went straight from her hindbrain to her ovaries. “Actually,” she gasped as Vi knelt to remove the garment in question, “if you don’t mind loaning me an outfit…I’m probably going to want a shower after this, anyway.”

“Baby,” Vi promised, and pressed a kiss to the bottom of Caitlyn’s thigh, “you’re going to need one.”
