Ayano was fast asleep until her alarm awoke her. It may have been annoying to most people, but to her, it was a sign of a new day of admiring.. or well... stalking senpai again. She hit the button on the alarm and got up. She changed into her uniform before getting ready to leave her room and turned back to check on her senpai shrine. "Good.. it's still there" she thought to herself, checking the items inside the 'shrine'. She went downstairs and decided to head to town hoping she'd find stuff to eliminate Osana with.
Time had passed without Ayano even realising, she was an hour late for school. Ayano longed to find senpai in her school path, knowing he was probably already there. When she reached school, she headed straight to the plaza to find Senpai, she hadn't even noticed the unusual atmosphere of the school. As she opened the door to the plaza she was immediately jumped by a figure... it was.. Midori? But.. something was off, shit! Was she trying to bite?! what the hell?! Ayano immediately pushed her off, stabbing her in the back of the neck with the boxcutter she brought with her before going to school. God.. what was happening.. and where was Senpai?! ayano carefully walked into the plaza looking around for anyone.. it was usually empty..? Where was everyone? Did they already head for class?
Ayano's phone rang, and the hairs on the back of her neck stood, it was kind of the first time she felt a bit... intimidated. Well.. anyway, she took out her phone from her pocket.. it was Osana calling? Why would.. heck how'd she even get her number? She answered the call, "Ayano-chan?! Is that you!" a voice yelled from the other side of the screen, "Listen quick! if you are at school now you have to get out of there fast! as soon as you can!" Osana yelled at Ayano. "What the hell are you talking about?" Ayano responded, although a bit hesitantly, it wasn't evident in her voice. "The school's been infected with some kind of weird zombie infection. There is a cure written in the headmaster's office locker, if you can, you should find it. And don't trust anyone either! Everyone was infected, even if it might not seem so, they are zombies. Please stay safe...", Osana rambled quickly telling Ayano about all the crucial information she could recall. "And... if you find Raibaru, please let me know..." She started to sound like she was on the verge of tears. "She might be the only one there not infected, except you", Ayano stayed silent, taking in the heat of the situation, before responding, "Alright, I hear you", she said before abruptly ending the call.
Ayano believed her Senpai must be alive somewhere, it didn't matter if he had turned into a zombie, she wanted to see him. For the last time at least... Ayano shook her head along with her thoughts before she made her way to the headmaster's office and barged in. "Of course he's not there.." she thought as he took the case key and opened it to find a few documents. After searching for a while, she finally found a paper which read the ingredients to save the world from a zombie apocalypse. The first ingredient included finding a big bottle? That's unusual.. "Well, I should get going then." Ayano stood up and headed to the third floor to see if she could find anything before she stopped in her tracks.. What the heck was that?.. She saw a figure slowly making its way down the hallway, it was a zombie, but it didn't bother Ayano too much, at least it was going the other way. Ayano made her way to the science club. Yup.. there was a big bottle. "I wonder what we'll need this for." Ayano picked up the bottle and then looked into the paper for the second ingredient
The page mentions a medicine to increase dopamine, it would help 'calm' the infected. She remembered there used to be a vial of some kind of medicine, which would increase dopamine, kept in the nurses' office while she was trying to sneak some sedatives. she made her way to the nurse's office and just when we was about to snatch the bottle she heard low groaning sounds from behind her, she quickly turned to find that the nurse was approaching her. "fuck!" she cursed herself reaching into her pockets to take out her boxcutter when... she realised it was gone? With no time to waste she grabbed the syringe and plunged it into the nurse's neck, which made her falter, but she wasn't completely dead yet. ayano broke the glass covering the sedative and quickly put it in the syringe, stabbing the nurse again, and finally putting her to sleep. She grabbed the vial and quickly left the room while looking at her list.
The next item on the list instructed to find a Lycrosis Radiata flower, a weird name? But Ayano remembered they were the flowers from the legendary cherry blossom tree. She knew because she used to spend most of her time there thinking of the way she could confess to Senpai.. She made her way outside, fortunately the outer grounds of the school were mainly empty too. She quickly made her way to the cherry blossom tree, picking up some flowers. "That's it.. I finally have everything Osana told me I needed.", Ayano told herself as she made her way downhill, but suddenly a slow hunched figure made its way to Ayano, she immediately jumped on her, she was somehow stronger than the others. She recognized the person even as a zombie, it was Homu Kurusu, there were rumours that she was a robot but that turned out to be untrue, I guess... Homu was almost about to bite Ayano, it seemed like she almost wanted to devour her flesh. She closed her eyes and dropped her items, accepting her fate. Before she heard something snap, it was Raibaru! She grabbed Homu and snapped her neck breaking it with a sharp crackle.
Looks like Osana was right, Raibaru's still here, well and alive... Ayano knew exactly what to do. She got up and handed the items for the 'cure' to Ribaru and explained the situation to her. Both of them made their way out of school. As they made their way to the exit, Ayano recognised the silhouette of a figure from a mile away. As Raibaru made her way outside, Ayano took small steps towards her dear Senpai... she threw herself in the arms of senpai joining the same fate as him as he let herself melt away in his arms.
No one could take away her happy ending.
