"H-hello? Is anyone there? Oh, my eyes? What happened to them? Oh- I see...... Let me tell you a story about how this happened to me......"
It started on that day, that day refered to as everyone's "happy" day, that day called a birthday. That day was the day my life changed for the worst. It was the day those close to me stabbed me in the back, & when I returned it to them, I made it permanent.
It was after my party that I was going back to my room. It was night & the door to my room was open, just a crack. I didn't think anything of it at the time... I Was Wrong!
[^^ May need to update this whole beginning part a bit better- ^^]
I walked into my room, & I felt a hand cover my mouth. I was scared. The voice that spoke, left me shook. There were two voices, one was my brother, Raven, & the other was my best friend, Grace. My mind filled with a mix of fear, confusion, & rage, I bit down on the hand that held me... hard. The second the grip loosened, I ducked, lunged, & I smashed the window with the dulled Jade Stone on my bracelet... mom's bracelet.
I fled into the dark woods behind the house. I practically flew through the low hanging branches in my face, my ponytailed, dark, sandy-brown hair getting tangled with leaves as I fled. I kept sprinting as the wind swirled in my face around my blindfold. As I stopped to catch my breath, I heard my brother call my name...
"Natalie!" I heard him call. My back went numb with a cold, shivering, sense of dread. I leaped off my feet & booked it farther into the woods. I checked behind me as I ran, but then the last thing I remember was running head first into a tree. I felt myself fall as my vision faded.
The next thing I knew, I was coming to. I felt shocked as I realized, I couldn't move my hands or legs. I felt the ropes tight on my wrists & ankles. I lifted my head & glanced around. I was in the middle of an unfamiliar, rundown room, the ground was made from dirty polished concrete, & the walls looked decrepit, holes in the drywall & pealing in some places. There was a shattered window to my right, the filthy curtains uneven & tattered. There was a dresser with a broken vanity mirror in the top right corner of the room, the broken mirror fragments littered the group in various sizes & shapes.
"H-h-hello?!" I called out, my voice hoarse & cracking up from worry.
"Bout' time" I heard Grace snicker, I glanced over at the sound of her voice as she was walking into the room from a doorway to the top left side of me.
"WHAT DO YOU WANT!?!?!?" I screamed, feeling my face go cold as hot tears burned on my tanned skin. "I Don't Understand!...."
"WE want to know what is under that blindfold you're always wearing." My brother said somewhere behind me. "You never take it off," Raven added, "makes me wonder, have you ever even seen your own eyes?" He sneered.
"No," I admitted, "Mother told me to never take it off," I stated.
"Well?" Grace spat, "Don't you want to find out?" She pressed on.
My mind went blank. 'What IS under my blindfold?' I started to wonder. 'What DO my eyes look like?'.
"How is it that you're able to see through it?" Grace asked me, tapping her shoe on the floor, making an echo.
"I-its made of see-through cloth," I mumbled, trembling a bit.
"How long have you worn it for?" Grace pryed sharply, I could tell she was getting more annoyed by the moment.
"Since I was 6" I responded quickly.
"That's true," My brother confirmed, "you never came out of your room as a little kid, & when you finally did, you were wearing that blindfold." He added, getting more curious. "Mom told me, Dad & the rest of the family that you had an eye disease."
'What?' I thought, "Mom didn't tell me that," I remembered aloud, "she told me my eyes were pretty."
"Really?" Grace wondered aloud. "How about we see for ourselves?" she pressured, before I could object, she tore off my blindfold. Her face then became a mixture of disgust & shock.
"W-what *are* those eyes?" She whispered.
"What is it?" Raven asked, he circled to where he could see me, & his eyes WIDENED with shock. ''W-what the-'' he stammered, stumbling away from me. "Get a mirror," he demanded Grace, "NOW" he snapped.
"W-what is it?" I could feel my voice shake. I watched as she slid across the smooth concrete floor, not daring to look away from my eyes. She grabbed a sharp piece of mirror off the ground near the dresser in a corner of the room & slowly creeped closer to me. She circled me & used the mirror fragment to cut the ropes from my wrists, ankles & waist. Then, she flipped the mirror piece to the non-reflective side, & put it in my hand. Then she quickly skittered to the other side of the room by the doorway. I flipped the mirror fragment towards my face, & I saw my eyes for the first time…
They looked... ∆m@§¡πg... They were a light, almost neon green in colour. They even appeared as if they were glowing from their center. My pupils looked & shown like stars. I looked at my brother Raven, & my 'friend', Grace. I felt a smile creep across my face as I asked, "Aren't they Pretty?" I stared back down at my pretty eyes in the piece of mirror...
"N-no way!" Grace stammered, glaring at me, "They're crazy!" She added with a snapped tone.
"Crazy‽¿" I felt my smile fade, my eyes starting to feel like they were burning as I gazed back up at her.
"Yes, crazy," Raven sneered still looking stunned. "Grace's eyes are prettier than those freakish things." he added defiantly.
"Oh, they are, are they¿‽" I said, feeling myself becoming engulfed in an odd rage, my head starting to spin, along with a splitting pain in my back & on the upper sides of my head.
"Yeah!" He hollered back.
"Well then," I hissed, gripping the mirror shard in my hand. I felt the mirror fragment cut my hand, I winced at the pain, but only for a moment, my body feeling numb. I felt the blood drip from my hand... & I snapped. I held up the mirror fragment & lounged at Grace. She screamed & tried to flee through the door, but she didn't make it as I grabbed her arm, my hand with the mirror shard came around her head…
And I slit her eyes. "STOP!!" I heard both of them shout, their voices sounding as if they were underwater. I felt my brother grab my wrist before I could cut her again. I aimed the fragment at his hand, & cut across his fingers. As soon as his grip loosened I turned back & slit him across the chest as I pushed him back, then I turned, & finished off Grace, piercing through the middle of her lower chest .
I felt her go limp, & I let her fall. I turned back to my brother who stumbled backwards, falling onto his back & heard myself sneer. "Are mine prettier now¿‽" He stared back, & he was afraid, but I didn't care, I felt myself grin. "Well?" I motioned for him to answer.
"Y-yes" He finally replied, broke eye contact, & weeped. I found my way out of the run down building, & left him there... I never looked back after that....
'Or At Least, I Wish I Hadn’t…'
