Thanks to the safe return of the Electroclan, today's Christmas Ranch is filled with the joy of reunion, but one person went for a walk alone on the farm after a few hours of rest.
Just as she was sitting under the eaves of the farmhouse and looking at the fluffy white clouds in the sky, she suddenly felt that a Glow was walking towards her nearby.
“Ian?” She turned around and said with a tone of surprise that she couldn’t hide. She never thought he would come to her. Actually, she thought that he would avoid all the unnecessary contacts with her.
Ian smiled, “Am I disturbing you?”
“No,” Nichelle shook her head: “Just thinking about things.”
He sat down next to Nichelle. They were silent for a while, and then Ian broke the silence first: “I'm sorry that I've been doubting you before.”
“You even said, 'A jackal will always be a jackal.'”
“Yeah, I'm lucky that you're not a jackal.”
This strangely nostalgic conversation made her smile. “I don't mind at all. I was also mean to you before.”
“Then we’re even.”
“Yeah,” She paused for a while and continued, “Thank you for forgiving me.”
“You deserve it.”
Nichelle blinked slowly. It felt good to find her belonging in the Electroclan - whether in the academy or on the street, she had never felt this way.
Then, she did something that she had never thought of before: she leaned over and kissed Ian's cheek, as lightly as a butterfly flapping its wings.
“That didn't mean anything... just thanks.” Nichelle looked the other away unnaturally. Her ears were red, almost the same as the color of her hair. “They may be preparing for the dinner” She muttered.
She stood up abruptly and then practically fled, her footsteps quick and uneven, as if afraid he'd call her back.
Ian brushed his fingertips over his cheek, eyes fluttering shut as he let out a slow breath.
“You always have a strong influence on me, Nichelle… whether in the past or now.”
