Work Text:

As a broke ass college student, it is usually given that these students go and take up part-time jobs. But, surely, it wasn’t in Hoseok’s plan to part-time in a convenience store open for 24 hours in a week and absolutely not in a graveyard shift where the store is mostly dead silent and is actually creepy. The store doesn’t have much customers at 12 midnights until 5 in the morning. The most customers he has served was a maximum of twenty-five people per shift. There are also instances were no customers come but he still stays—he has to. The management actually pays him quite nice so Hoseok just need to put up with his drowsiness.

Hoseok mostly just seat there by the cashier counter, counting the straws or rearranging and putting in place the products inside the eerie store, playing some songs through the speaker and dance to it when no one is around.

It’s one of those shifts where the store is pretty vacant and Hoseok is whole-heartedly twerking to Rihanna’s Work booming in the store’s stereos. His back facing the entrance and the music was too loud that he did not notice the customer who entered, standing by the entrance door, his eyes and mouth agape—astonished by the sight there is.

The guy silently went to go pick up what he went for in the store—the usual meal for a broke college student BUT upgraded according to him—a ramen with egg, instant rice, hotdog bar, and a can of Milkis. He brought these stuffs to the counter and coughed to get the twerking cashier guy’s attention.

Hoseok faced him with horror-coated face, mentally slapping his self as his cheeks slowly turn red. Hoseok wipes his sweaty palms on his jeans and clears his throat. “Uh—“ The guy handed in his items and smiled mischievously before speaking. Hoseok proceeded in scanning those items without looking at the other’s eyes. He did not pay much attention to the guy before him as he is in shame. All he noticed is that the said guy’s wearing a white shirt with cuts on unique places like by the collarbones and on the side of his waist, and some grey sweatpants.

“So do you usually work—no pun intended—here at this hour?” His deep voice echoing in Hoseok’s ears despite the loud music playing—still Rihanna’s Work playing on repeat. Hoseok gulps a bucket-full of his saliva because damn that voice sounds so rich it’s reaching down to his south pole trying to stand. “Coz if so I’d come here every day at three in the morning to see you twerk like that.” He says, leaving his bills on the counter top with a wink and left.

Hoseok was left dumbfounded and stomach turning—actually excited for the next day to come and to see the guy with simple but quite odd clothing, and the green streaks lying on his beautiful chocolate brown hair which Hoseok noticed when he took a quick glimpse of the boy as he left the place.
