Disconnection (Moonflower)

Summary:

Its been years since Gradenview closed, the toons have stayed dormant doing practically nothing, though a few weeks ago strange copy's of the toons have been appearing in the lower floors of the building. The other toons have been speculating about what could be happening, but the main toons already have their suspicions that Dandy has something to do with this, well expect one main...Astro who's been defending him... and will under the bitter end.

Chapter 1: The night sky

Chapter Text

Most of this fic is third person pov (sometimes it's Astro's though)

"One...two...three...four...how many do I need again...?" Astro muttered, he was currently sitting on the raised flower bed area in the middle of the lobby picking small red flowers and putting them into a pile beside.

"You do know those flowers are fake?" Vee remarked in a confident tone as she gazed down at Astro, her shadow looming over him. Astro acknowledged her presence and looked up at her.   "I-" Said Astro before he was cut off by Vee.

" Yeah they had to replace them because some mom sued the place because her kid choked on ‘em or something...   I wonder where that kid is now..." She added before sitting next to Astro. he glanced at her before going back to picking the flowers ,which was harder than it seemed since they were made of plastic.

"Why are you picking flowers?" Asked Vee picking up one flower from the pile before setting it back down.

"For fun...I guess," muttered Astro.  " How's your game show going?" said Astro trying to engage in the conversation.

"Oh amazing as ever!" Said Vee with a grin. "Though it's rather irritating that only the toons watch it now..." She mumbled the last part to herself.

" Good...that's good" He said softly.  " It's getting late, why don't you head to-..." Uttered astro before he realized Vee didn't really sleep. " Ah sorry I forgot... "

" Eh its fine I do need to shut down before I over heat" Said Vee. "Good night astro!"

"Good night Vee, sweet dreams..."

And just like that Vee headed off to her room, the sound of her metal feet pattering through the lobby's hallway.

Astro yawned as he peered up at the night sky, humming a quiet little toon as he did so.

The sound of keys locking up something from down the hall could be heard, which caught Astro’s attention… It was him. The toon walked towards the raised platform, struggling a bit to climb up it due to his height, though eventually he made it and stood next to Astro.

“Hello…Dandy…” Muttered Astro as he glanced at the flower toon. Dandy grinned and sat down next to Astro, resting his head on his friend's shoulder.

“Who were you talking to?” said dandy as he looked up at the sky like Astro.

“ Vee was asking me about the flowers…” He mumbled.

“Oh…Vee…” whispered dandy to himself saying her name in a tone of annoyance. Astro noticed it but didn't bother to ask about it, And for a bit the two just sat under the gaze of the moon, leaning on each other, not wanting for the moment to end.

The moon…It's beautiful isn't it?” Said Astro softly as he smiled, hoping dandy would understand the meaning. Dandy chuckled to the phrase and answered him.

“Yeah it really is!”

Astro could tell just from that, that he didn't understand what he meant, and sighed softly, looking at the pile of flowers next to him.                                           “Mhm…” he whispered as he closed his eyes, letting his clutch on his blanket go and resting his hands by his sides.                                                                 “Night sleepyhead” said Dandy in a rather soft yet cheerful tone.

“Good night….” Murmured Astro before he drifted off to sleep.

Dandy let out a long breath and held one of Astro’s hands in his.

“I'm sorry…” He whispered, a guilty look on his face.
