“Who ya texting?” Hen's voice came from across from him in the truck. Buck probably hadn't realized he'd been spaced out on the drive.
“Oh, just my cousins from back home.”
“Your cousins from jolly old england” she said in a fake -terrible- english accent. Buck kicks her lightly in the shin.
“Okay I won't do the accent, but are you okay? You seem lost in thought since we left the station.”
“It's just- I haven't seen either of them in 2 years. We talk quite a bit but it's not the same, and I can't afford to take leave now after all the medical leave I took,” he takes a heavy breath and sighs, “I mean i only got back a month ago I can't put cap through that, I can't put you guys through that again and even if that didn't matter there is no way the department would allow it so soon after everything.”
“Oh buck, it's gonna be okay, you're going to figure out something, you always will and they understand about the situation that you're in, so don't stress yourself out about it.”

Henry is sitting on his bed alone, it's been 3 weeks since he's seen Alex. Two weeks of watching the TV and seeing the boy he loves on the news for being a show stopping star.

Henry can not do this anymore. He is not going to sit here for another 6 weeks while Alex is just a plane ride away.
It's also convenient that the love of Henry's life and favorite cousin are in the same area and will be for the next 2 weeks.

“Is it possible to free up my schedule next week?”
“I will check with the King sir.”

“Charlie!” Nick calls out to the boy as he runs towards him. Charlie turns around almost instantly after hearing that voice
“Nick!, it feels like I haven't seen you in ages with you studying for your GCSEs.” Charlie responds as he hugs his boyfriend. Nick would admit that he'd kiss him if they weren't in school, but the hug will do for now.
He had been studying for his GCSEs for the past two weeks. It had been torture being away from his boyfriend for that long, but it was all worth it because they get to have a 4 week long winter break to make up for all the time they've missed.
“My mums working tonight so what do you think about staying over?” Nick asks, knowing the answer as Charlie practically lived at his house before his mum had grounded him as he had to study for his final exams.
“I've been dying to watch the new Deadpool movie with you for the past two weeks.”
“Yes, all my mates have been talking about it and it's so difficult not to get spoiled.”
“I'm so lucky Tao is not a marvel fan or else I'm sure I would know the whole plot by now.”
“I still think him not liking Marvel is blasphemy.”
“And he thinks the fact that you haven't watched Interstellar is punishable but death.”
“That movie is far too slow for my liking, I like my movies fast with guns and explosions within the first 20 minutes.”
The buzzing of his phone interrupts their conversation.
“One second Char, my cousin is calling. I'll be out in the passage”
“Ye, no problem, I'll message my mum so long to let her know I'm staying over.”
Nick walks a little to the side so Charlie doesn't hear his call. It's not like he's hiding anything, he just can't let anyone know he's second cousins with the ‘Heart of England’.
“Hey Hen.”
“Nickyyyyy, wow it has been a while since I've heard your voice.”
“It's been three weeks.” Nick says with a laugh.
“So, I've been thinking about how we haven't seen Evan in a while and he can't come to us and your break is coming up…”
“Are you suggesting what I think you're suggesting?” Nick asks with excitement.
“If you think I'm suggesting that we take a trip down to the land of the free then you'd be correct.”
“Oh my gods, Henry!! That would be amazing, I'll have to check it with mum and Charlie first of course.”
“Yea bring Charlie with too!”
“You're the best Hen”
“That's not what you said earlier.” Nick can hear his sarcastic tone.
“You're my third favorite person.” Nick says with the most genuine voice he can
“Only third!”
“Well Charlie, Evan then you”
“I'm canceling our trip to Los Angeles right this second.”
“Okay fine maybe you're second.” Nick says with a laugh.
“Fine, I'll settle for second. I've got to go, I'll message your mom tomorrow, and maybe I can finally meet this Charlie of yours.”
“Bye Hen, message my mum the details!”
Just then Henry cuts the call.
Well he would have to tell Charlie at some point. Maybe a trip to California will help ease the pain.
This is going to be a wild ride.
