Work Text:

The house was quiet except for soft giggles coming from the bedroom. Travis had gone out to hang out with Katelyn, so Dante invited his friend over. Naturally, that shifted from playing games on the Nintendo 64 to looking at his old baby pictures in his room. Dante really only had one move, and this was it. The baby photos always drew in the ladies, but this one didn’t seem too interested in his baby pictures. She just nodded along as he flipped through the book, appearing a bit too excited to be looking at his baby photos.

Kattaline chuckled and leaned closer, playing with a strand of her hair as she watched him flip through the book. Dante glanced up to see her staring at him instead of the baby pictures. He froze momentarily and laughed nervously, letting a lopsided grin slip onto his face. “What?” He asked, leaning back slightly. Kattaline shrugged and moved to lean back closer to him.

“Nothing,” she purred with a smile. Her tail swayed behind her as she leaned close, her ears flicking as Dante let out another nervous laugh. Oh god, is she always this warm? He thought as Kattaline leaned against him, letting the photo album close with a deep breath.

“Come on, don’t look at me like that,” he blushed, swallowing the lump growing in his throat. Kattaline hummed and touched his arm, trailing her hand up his green sweater. She let her hand rest on his bicep, squeezing him gently. Dante let the photo album slide off the bed, checking to ensure it landed gracefully before looking back at her . Kattaline’s hair fell to the side as she cocked her head slightly. Dante let his tongue flick out, wetting his now-chapped lips. He was suddenly hyper-aware of his sweaty palms and the beads of sweat forming on his face.

“What’re you talking about?” She toyed, sliding a hand to his shoulder. She batted her lashes and gently tugged on his sweater. “Y’know… You have the day off, I have the day off, we’re alone .” She played with his sweater. He leaned into her touch, following it like a man starved. “It’s too hot to wear this,” she whispered, leaning against him. Dante nodded, not really registering what she was saying as his hand moved to her hip.

Kattaline took the touch as an okay to continue, holding onto his sweater as she straddled his lap. Gently, she pushed his sweater off, and he shook it, tossing it to the side as he looked up at her.

“You’re beautiful…” he mumbled, letting his thumbs rub gentle circles into her hips. She smiled softly, sliding her hands up to his shoulders. She leaned close, letting her nose brush against Dante’s; the cold metal from her septum piercing touched his nose. He let his eyes flutter close momentarily, leaning up towards her. Kattaline could feel his heart pounding in his chest as she finally leaned in, closing the gap. Dante’s eyes fluttered shut as his hands froze on her hips.

The slow, gentle movements made Dante’s heart stutter for a moment. His hands slowly moved again to pull Kattaline as close as he could. She hummed against his lips with a smirk before pulling away slightly. “Is this ok?” She whispered, placing slow, almost agonizing kisses on the corner of his lips and against his cheek. She watched as he took a breath and slowly opened his eyes. Dante nodded, licking his lips for a moment as he stared at her own, so close and yet so far away.

“Y-yeah, way more than ok,” he joked, a breathless chuckle as he looked up to meet her eyes for a moment. Dante could feel the heat flooding his face as Kattaline stared at him. “W-what? Is there something on my face?” He removed a hand from her hips, reaching up to touch his face, searching for a zit or something she would be staring at. She laughed and shook her head.

“No, no, nothing on your face, baby.” She reached a hand up to take his, intertwining their fingers as she leaned back into him. The once tender kiss turned hungry as Dante pulled her down to the bed. He laid back, holding her hip in one hand and squeezing her hand in the other as Kattaline hovered above him. A shudder ran up his spine as Kattaline straddled his hips fully, leaning down to him. Her free hand slid to his chest, and Dante felt an involuntary whimper leave his throat. The sudden noise caught Kattaline off guard, sending a family of butterflies into her stomach.

She pulled away from the kiss, staring at him for a moment. Oh no , she thought to herself. He looked gorgeous; his blue hair ruffled against the pillow, and her lipstick smudged against his lips. His chest rose and fell quickly as his eyes stayed closed momentarily. Fuck. She leaned down, trailing kisses along his jaw before dipping down to his neck. Her hand let go of his to toy with the collar of his shirt as Dante’s now free hand slid up her side, grazing her nape as it settled into her hair, toying with the strands of her bow as it came undone.

Her breath caught in her throat as Dante’s mouth dropped open slightly, that little whimper leaving him again. She grabbed onto his shoulder, humming against his throat as she nipped his neck, “ Oh fuck …” Dante whispered, pulling Kattaline closer. “D-don’t stop.” Something about his panting pleas and his pulling on her hair made the haze set in. She hadn’t realized how bad the hickies she sucked into his neck would look or how that bite mark was going to sting after the fact until the sobering knock came through his bedroom door. She paused, sitting up and checking the time. Of course, the one day she was actually getting a bit risque with Dante was the day his roommate and close friend would come home early.

“Dante? You up, man?” Travis called through the door, knocking again. Kattaline sat up, staring at the door for a moment before sighing.

“Oh shit… Dante!” She whispered, looking down at him, freezing at the sight. Oh wow, if Travis weren’t outside the door right now, she’d probably try and ruin that pretty face. Dante stared up at her with a hum, eyes half-lidded and hickies littering his neck. His hand on her hip had slid into her shirt, his thumb rubbing against the soft skin with a lopsided grin. Lipstick was smudged on his mouth and neck, and dear Irene, was it taking all of Kattaline’s strength to not just say fuck it . She leaned down, her breath tickling his ear as she whispered. “Dante, Travis is outside the door.”

If her voice hadn’t been so sweet, Dante would’ve ignored the words and focused on her lips being so close, but his roommate's name made him snap into reality for a second. Dante’s eyes snapped open as he looked at the door and their position. “Fuck…” He muttered, almost cursing his friend's name. Kattaline moved off of Dante’s lap to hide out of view behind the door, tossing Dante’s sweater to him. “Shit- Ow!” He huffed as he got up quickly, tripping on his photo album. He almost growled at it as Kattaline threw a nearby mask at him. He cocked a brow at her, but she didn’t explain and just motioned for him to put it on.

“Dude, you good in there?” Travis called out. He tapped his foot against the wood flooring and hummed to himself. It turned out Katelyn only needed some quick help moving something to Aphmau and Aaron’s house, but some time with her was better than no time. He didn’t want to rush into anything with her but missed hanging out with her so often, like at Love~Love Paradise. The door finally opened, and Travis was about to joke about catching Dante at a bad time, only for him to have his hoodie scrunched up around his face and a black face mask covering his nose and mouth. “Uegh, wha- are you sick??” Travis exclaimed, taking a quick couple of steps back.

“Uhhhh yeah, yeah, I’m feeling sick so…” They stared at each other briefly before Dante cleared his throat. “So, did you need something from me or…?”

“Not anymore; you keep your sick ass in your room.” Travis waved him off.

“Cool, kay, bye!” Dante quickly closed the door with a slam as Travis scoffed.

“Guess he’s really not feeling well,” Travis mumbled, walking to the living room to lounge around.

Dante sighed and leaned against the door, letting go of his sweater strings and pulling down his face mask. He sighed softly as he glanced at Kattaline, whose face was still a bit red from the earlier transgressions.

“Doesn’t look like he’s out for the day,” she teased with a smirk.

“I noticed.” He chuckled and pulled down his sweater, unzipping it with a sigh. “Sorry about that…” He frowned, pulling his sweater off. Kattaline pushed off the wall and took his hand with a smile.

“Hey,” she squeezed his hand gently, “Don’t worry about it, Dante. Seriously.” She smiled and pulled him back to his bed, laying down with him and cuddling up to him. “At least he won’t bother you for a bit now, and we can cuddle for a bit.” She tried to cheer him up, only to earn a gentle frown from Dante.

“Yeah, but… I kinda liked what we were doing before,” he scratched his neck and looked away from her. He swallowed the lump in his throat and gave her a smile.

“How about next time you’re home alone, you just come to my place, ok?” She teased and kissed his cheek. “By the way, you’re covered in lipstick.” She watched his face go from a blushing smile to a deadpanned stare.

“That’s why you were-”

“Yeah, that’s why I was staring. You’ve got it all over. It might just be your color, to be honest,” she joked and kissed his cheek, earning a low chuckle from Dante.

“Yeah? And I suppose that’s your favorite?”

“Well, it is now.” She rested her head against his chest, his arm wrapping around her shoulders and playing with her shirt gently. Kattaline gently threw a leg over him as she curled up to him. “Think we should tell Travis or something…? Won’t he find it weird if I’m suddenly around a lot more?”

“What, are you planning on showing up at my job or something?” He teased, only to earn a smack to his arm. “Kidding, you know I'm kidding.” He backtracked and rubbed gentle circles into her back. “We can tell him… soon. I just don’t wanna rush anything, you know..?”

Kattaline sat up and stared down at him. “Dante, you’re covered in my lipstick, hickies, and a couple of bites. He’s gonna notice you suddenly prancing around with at least two of those things.” She stared at him before he smiled that stupid little grin. “You’re an idiot,” she spoke softly and leaned back into his chest.

“I’ll probably have to tell KC, though, 'cause she’s the makeup girl and has my concealer shade.” Kattaline nodded alone with a hum.

“Yeah, alright. Then I wanna tell Sasha if you’re telling KC.” Dante cocked a brow before chuckling.

“Whatever you want, babe, but don’t tell Gene just yet. I think he’d kill me for stealing his bestie.” The two chuckled, continuing to talk with hushed tones as they cuddled together, eventually parting ways when they heard Travis heading to his room in the basement and sneaking Kattaline out the front door. It wasn’t the first time they had done something like this, and it certainly wasn’t going to be the last.
