Writers note: Hiii! Its Rey here! There are 2 authors on this acc! (Lol) Well anyways I can’t believe that I’m actually posting this!! I never thought that anything of my works would be posted.. but they are! I love this haikyuu AU of mine its so silly.. Btw Mondai means “Issues” in japanese. You might have an idea of whats different in my AU from the og now lol. By the way, this will be a very long-term series. (If i don’t loose all motivation. From the time that this gets published, I will be working on chap 4! I will try to be consistent, releasing a new chap every week or so, but I’m sorry if I can’t. With all things behind. Chapter 1: Strange day
Friday after school- 4:37pm
It was a quiet and calm day at the Karasuno Highschool. It had only been a while since their last match against Aoba Johsai. They had lost. That slim chance they had to win. Was all gone.
As sounds of running and stomping on the plastic floor, and volleyballs hitting the ground hard. 2 people stand side by side discussing the matters at hand.
???: “I feel so sorry for them.. Y’know? They are a bunch of teenagers who have practically devoted themselves to volleyball.”
???: “Well, there was nothin’ we could do.”
It was strange. The black-haired man had empathy in his voice. While the tall Blonde-haired man sounded annoyed.
???: “They train their hardest everyday! And although they don’t look like it. It’s almost as if they are all still upset-“
???: “QUIT IT? WOULD YA’ TAKEDA?”
Takeda was shook by this
Takeda: “Eh? I apologize Ukai-san”
As Ukai gave Takeda a nasty glare, he walked out.
Everyone paused for a moment. And stared at their coach walking out of practice mid-way. Then they all turned their heads to Takeda.
Takeda was flustered by this. He doesn’t enjoy being watched.
Takeda: “Eh..uh..”
Takeda: “COACH UKAI HAS… uhm.. HAS NEEDED TO TAKE A SMALL BREAK! PLEASE RESUME PRACTICE!”
2 girls walk up to Takeda. One was a tall black-haired girl with small rectangular glasses. The other was a shorter blonde-haired girl that had an kind and approachable presence.
???: “Takeda-san, is something wrong with Ukai?”
???: “Yeah! He seemed really upset when he stormed out!”
Takeda: “Kiyoko, Yachi, don’t worry. He is most likely having a rough day.”
Kiyoko gave a small confused look, while Yachi gave a glare of empathy as she frowned.
Yachi: “Should we check on him? If he hasn’t left yet it might be a good choice-“
Kiyoko: “Ukai-san got upset with Takeda, who he is close friends with, we are 2 students. If he can’t control his anger with his friend. He certainly would be able to with us”
Takeda: “I wouldn’t considered us close friends. More so…uh…More so coleagues!”
Yachi: “Hm? I’d say everyone would consider you two close friends- HEY! HINATA-KUN! WOULD YOU CONSIDER TAKEDA-SAN AND UKAI-SAN CLOSE FRIENDS-“
Yachi: “Why is he just standing there?”
A tall boy with black hair, aproached Hinata— a short, orange-haired boy.
???: “Oi Hinata, quit zoning out!”
Hinata: “eh-? oh sorry kageyama”
Hinata, the usually excited and happy kid, seemed upset too.
Yachi: “Why is everyone upset today..?”
Kiyoko: “That match against Sejoh must’ve certainly disheartened them, even I can tell they’re sad.”
There was confusion, sadness, and even anger in the Karasuno volleyball court. However outside the gym, there was a hint of anger.
||Outside the gym
There was a cigarette in the left-hand of a man. And a lighter in the other. A small flame lit up. The man brought the cigarette’s end closer to the flame.
The end of the cigarette caught on the flame. As the man brought the cigarette closer to his mouth, he suddenly paused. He had just relised how terribly exhausted he was. For the past few days, he’d work for his store. Then in the field, for his store even more all night, he’d barely get everything done by sunrise. Then he would make his way back to his store. To prepare it for opening before his mother came in. He’d run the store untill it was time for practice. Then he would drive to the Karasuno Highschool to coach their boy’s volleyball team. After that, he’d go back to his store to take over for his mother. He had been repeating this process for the past 4 days.
The man put the cigarette to his mouth, and grey smoke started coming out of the man’s mouth.
After the man had finished the cigarette, he picked up his phone.
Friday- 5:06pm was the time. The man went to his contacts, then he called his mom.
Mom: “Kei! Hello love, how are you”
Ukai: “I’m doing alright— I’ve been extremely tired recently although, I haven’t slept in around 4 days-“
Mom: “4 DAYS?! KEI ARE YOU SURE YOUR ALRIGHT?”
Ukai: “I’m doing fine, I just need to sleep for a while, mind taking over the store for abit?”
Mom: “Ofcourse, go rest immediately”
Ukai: “Well then, that’s all I needed to ask Ma’, thank you.”
Mom: “No problem, get a good rest, bye now!”
Ukai says bye and hangs up the phone. As he starts to drive home, he feels he is forgetting something.
As Ukai unlocks the door to his house, he suddenly remembers Takeda, he feels sense of guilt, since he had yelled at him then left.
-Ukai changes into his pjamas and gets ready to sleep-
He goes to lay in his bed, his phone in hand. As he is about to fall asleep he opens up his phone, Friday- 5:19pm. And he goes to call Takeda.
|| Karasuno Volleyball Gym
Takeda who is now worried, almost drops his phone as he sees the call from Ukai.
Ukai: “Hey Takeda..”
Ukai says this in a calm tone
Takeda: “Ukai-san! Are you alright?”
Ukai: “Yeah, yeah, I’m fine. I’m sorry for yelling at ya’.”
Takeda: “Don’t worry about that.”
Ukai: “I’ve been a bit on edge recently. I haven’t slept for 4 days heh-“
Takeda: “4-4 days?!”
Ukai: “Yeah, I’m at my house right now, I’m about to sleep actually hah. Just wanted to let you know, and apologize for yelling.”
Takeda: “It’s alright! Thank you for telling me. Rest well Ukai. I’ll take care of them meanwhile.”
Ukai: “Bye now,”
|| Ukai’s home
As Ukai hung up his phone, he almost immediately fell asleep.
|| Karasuno Volleyball Gym
Takeda: “Phew, he’s alright”
???: “QUIT ACTING SO SAD WOULD YA’ HINATA?!”
Takeda get startled once again at the sudden loud sound.
???: “HEY RYU! Don’t be mean!”
??? POV: “I need to do something, come on Koushi think of something!”
Suga POV: “I need to think of something that would take their minds off of that match, something fun…”
Suga POV: “That’s it!”
Suga: “Everyone! Calm down! Tanaka, as Nishinoya said, don’t be mean, Hinata could be having a rough day… Here how about instead of getting all tense. Uhm.. We can all go to… Maybe a fair! We don’t have school tomorrow so we don’t have to worry about what time to get back!”
Suga POV: “Please tell me that made sense..”
Takeda: “Uhm! Is everything alright-“
???: “That’s a good idea Suga! Let’s see practice ends in about 30mins! Hm.. It would be quite late..-“
Suga: “We can always also do it tomorrow Daichi! Sorry I should’ve considered what time we get out of practice-“
Suga said this in a rushed tone.
Daichi: “Hah, don’t worry.”
Suga: “Could you call the team over? So we can tell them about the idea?”
Daichi: “Sure.”
Daichi: “EVERYONE COME HERE!”
Takeda started mumbling to himself
Takeda: “Well,atleast they solved the issue..”
-Everyone walks over to Daichi and Suga-
Daichi: “SUGA WAS THINK WE SHOULD ALL GO TO A FAIR TOMORROW! DOES EVERYONE WANT TO GO-?”
Tanka: “SHUT UP! I WAS TALKING TO HINATA, TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHY HE WAS SAD, THEN SUGA JUST CAME UP WITH THE FAIR IDEA? THAT’S STUPID. AND IRRELEVANT!-“
A tall blonde male with black, rectangular glasses appears behind Tanaka, along with a smaller green-haired boy, beside him.
???: “Look at you, you hothead”
The blonde boy snickers as he says this.
???: “Why are you so mad? It’s almost funny how angery you can get for such stupid stuff-“
Tanaka: “SHUT UP!”
???: “I thought we were supposed to look up to you? We’re just first years, while you are a second year. Karasuno’s very own ‘Tanaka-senpai’.”
Tanaka: “BE QUIET TSUKISHIMA. AND YOU TO YAMAGUCHI, JUST BECAUSE YOU’RE FRIENDS WITH TSUKISHIMA, IT DOESN’T MEAN YOU HAVE TO ACT LIKE HIM TO.!”
Tsukishima: “How lame”
Yamaguchi laughs at this comment
Suga POV: “Did I make the wrong choice…?”
Daichi: “Hey-“
As Tsukishima and Yamaguchi walk away, they are suddenly blocked by Kageyama.
Tsukishima: “Oi king, move out of my way.”
Kageyama: “Apologize to Tanaka, now”
Tsukishima: “Hm, you really are a king. What ever his majesty says I guess!”
Tsukishima says this in a joking matter
Tsukishima: “I apologize Tanaka.”
Tanaka: “You bastard-“
Daichi: “Do you guys want to go to the fair or not?”
Tanaka: “Yeah,yeah sure”
Nishinoya: “I can go! It’ll be nice”
Tsukishima: “I’m free. If everyone’s going I might as well.”
Yamaguchi: “I’ll be going to! It sounds fun!”
Kageyama: “Me and Hinata can go.”
Hinata: “i can answer for myself, thank you very much.”
???: “I can go to…”
A group of 3 suddenly speak up
???: “I’m going out-of-city on Saturday, so I can’t make it”
???: “Neither can I”
???: “Yeah…I promised to spend time with my grandma.”
Nishinoya: “Aw! That’s a bummer. Maybe next time?”
All 3 of them agree and apologize.
Daichi: “Well then! Why don’t we vist the Tanoshī fair? I’ve heard its amazing!”
Suga POV: “So it all worked out! Phew..”
-Everyone agrees-
Daichi: “Well then! Let’s finish up practice!”
Daichi: “Oh wait,”
Daichi: “SHIMIZU, YACHI, WANT TO VIST THE TANOSHĪ FAIR WITH US TOMORROW?”
Kiyoko: “Sure.”
Yachi: “Oo! A fair! Ofcourse!”
Daichi: “Ok then, me an Suga will decide on a time then text you all what time to meet up there.”
Daichi: “Now let’s finish up with practice!”
As the Karasuno’s Boys Volleyball Team finish up their practice. They clean up then all wave goodbye.
Kageyama and Hinata were walking together for a while. It was silent.
Kageyama: “Hinata, are you ok?”
Hinata: “you sure are acting different.”
Kageyama: “Answer me damnit!”
Hinata: “There, that’s the Kageyama I know— I’m fine.”
Kageyama: “Hmph”
The 2 kids wave goodbye as they part ways.
Surely…Tomorrow would be better then this Strange Day.
Friday- 6:32pm
-The next morning-
Saturday- 9:16am
Hinata POV: “Hm? A message,”
Phone- Meet at Tanoshī fair at 12:00am! -Koushi Sugawara
Hinata POV: “Alright then”
-Everyone begins to get ready around 11:00am-
|| Infront of Tanoshī fair
-Hinata walks to his volleyball team, whom has already arrived-
Tsukishima: “Look who’s late-“
Hinata: “It’s only 12:06am…”
Daichi: “Now that everyone is here-“
Suga: “Please be on your best behavior. We have got quite a day ahead of us, so please don’t argue this early!”
-Everyone agrees-
Hinata POV: “This’ll be a long day..”
The Karasuno Boys Volleyball Team, finally enter the fair at 12:24am
The group look up to see a sign.
-TANOSHĪ FAIR! THE MOST FUN PLACE IN JAPAN!-

I promise the other chaps are like 100X better😭 I’m sorry if there are any spelling errors, I am human after all! By the way Tanoshī means fun in Japanese. Well I hope you enjoyed!
