Chapter Text
"This is a bad idea."
"Oh come now Anna, live a little. It'll be fun." Esmea with her signature grin, sat on her sister's counter, her feet kicking back and forth. Her tall black heels gently tapped against the doors, while she leaned back on her arms.
"Living is exactly why I think it's a bad idea. Do you have a death wish? Making a hit on C-Sec. And not just that, the Executor!" Anna was always the practical one out of them, but Esmea had no desire to be practical. Life was a game, and she loved to exploit it.
"Oh I thought you might say that." Disinterest covers her face while Esmea calmly checks her nails, filed to a point and painted a dark blood red. "Would the sum of 5 million credits." A pause for dramatic effect while a devilish grin spreads over her face. "Each, be a motivating factor?" A quick glance at her sister told Esmea all she needed to know.
Anna looked back at her with wide eyes, her arms crossed as she stood in front of Esmea. "Their paying you... 10 million credits... To kill a police officer..?"
"Mhm. Don't worry I thought the same thing you did. There's no way the game is THAT simple. But apparently Executor Pallin has his six fingers in more than just C-Sec. And my employer doesn't like that."
Esmeas eyes glinted with a terrifying glee, which makes Anna shudder. There's no changing her mind now that the game is set. Her will would be an unrelenting force, that no arguing would persuade, and she would laugh as she won or lost.
"Can you imagine it dear sister? Enough credits to never have to work again. You and your boy toy can run off and do" Esmea waved a hand in the air towards her sister. "whatever it is you two want to do. And I, well, I can finally work just for the fun of it!" She giggles to herself. "Wouldn't that be wonderful?"
Anna stood blinking silently, her sister almost scared her, and she was very grateful Esmea was on her side. Shaking herself out of her head, Anna mumbled under her breath. "He's not my boy toy." Esmea heard her of course and just smiled, her white teeth on full display.
"So, do you have a plan for this?" Anna was always sensible like that, never jumping into danger without some solid ground under her feet, well, usually. Her temper did get to her occasionally.
"Ugh" Esmea groaned and laid back fully on the counter, her long black hair hanging over the edge. "You don't need a plan for everything Anna. Relax and live a little. You know I always win my games. And this one will be no exception."
Anna watched her sister with a raised eyebrow before rubbing the bridge of her nose. "I swear Esmea, you are impossible. You can't just jump into a job like this without a plan. There are tens of thousands of C-Sec officers. And Pallin is literally the top of the top. What were you expecting to do, just walk into the Presidium and shoot him?"
"Well no" Reaching her arms up, Esmea slid off the counter, landing on her hands and gracefully flipping back to her feet. "I don't think we're allowed on the Presidium, and just shooting the man would be rather boring wouldn't it?"
Esmea flashed a perfect smile while gently brushing back her hair. As usual her appearance was as close to perfection as possible. Her long straight black hair flowed perfectly down her back, her skin smooth and clear, and her clothes a perfect modern reflection of her dark personality, with the heeled boots to match.
While Anna was.... Well.... The opposite, which reflected them both quite well. Anna actually understood the word causal, and actually liked to wear clothes she found comfortable. She was always the practical one, even when it came to clothes, something Esmea would never understand.
"Ok 'Miss Im only in it for fun,'" Anna put up finger quotes and rolled her eyes. "what's your plan then? Cause as tempting as 5 million credits is, I can't use them if I'm dead."
"Oh please, as though I was going to let us die. Give me a week and I'll come up with something." Esmea pat the top of her sister's head, smiling yet again. "Besides, I have you to kick my ass out of the fire if I need it."
Anna glowered up at her sister, she didn't much appreciate the truth in that statement but she also couldn't deny it. Ever since they were kids Anna has always had her sisters back, even the (many, many, many) times when it put their lives in danger.
Esmea saw the annoyed look on her sister's face and just laughed to herself. She winked and then waved before walking towards the door, her black heels clicking against the tiled floor. "Ta ta sister."
