Chapter 1: Crossing Boundaries

Chapter Text

The city lights of Seoul twinkled outside the penthouse office, casting a soft glow on the floor-to-ceiling windows. Yunho sat behind his sleek mahogany desk, eyes sharp as he scrolled through another report. The constant hum of the city below barely fazed him—after all, he'd been the CEO of his company for years now. Every decision he made, every move he took, was calculated.

But there was one person who threw him off balance.

His secretary.

Wooyoung, with his effortless charm, impeccable style, and that smile that seemed to both frustrate and intrigue Yunho in equal measure. He was good at his job—no one could deny that. But there was something else. A spark, a playfulness in his eyes that always made his pulse quicken in ways he couldn't explain.

It had been like this for months. The tension had been building ever since Wooyoung first started working for him, the way he moved around this office, how his laughter—light, but with a hint of mischief—would echo in the otherwise silent room. Yunho kept his distance, maintaining professionalism at all costs. But sometimes, when their eyes met, the air would crackle. It was dangerous, and he knew that.

But now, as the clock ticked closer to midnight, he couldn’t focus. His mind kept drifting back to Wooyoung—his sharp features, his elegance, and the way he seemed to defy all expectations, even when he was supposed to be obedient.

Wooyoung stepped into the office without knocking, a habit that made Yunho’s patience wear thin.

“Mr. Jeong,” he greeted him, a playful lilt to his voice that immediately set Yunho’s nerves on edge. He stood by the door, wearing a sharp suit that hugged his frame in all the right places. His tie was a little askew, and his sleeves were rolled up just enough to show off the tattoo on his forearm.

“Wooyoung,” he replied, his voice tight as he tried to mask the rush of heat spreading through his chest. He didn’t want to look at him, didn’t want to feel this magnetic pull that seemed to draw him in no matter how hard he fought it.

“I finished those reports you asked for,” his assistant said, placing the folder on his desk with a casual flick of his wrist. His eyes lingered a moment too long, and the CEO’s breath hitched for just a second.

"Good," Yunho replied, his voice low. He ran a hand through his hair, trying to steady himself, but it was no use. Wooyoung had that effect on him. "You’re supposed to leave when your shift ends."

The other chuckled softly, clearly not taking his words seriously. “You’re never going to get rid of me, are you?” He took a slow step forward, closing the distance between them, his gaze never wavering from Yunho’s face. There was an edge to his tone—playful, but with something else hiding just beneath the surface.

His boss resisted the urge to shift uncomfortably in his chair. The room felt too small all of a sudden, the air charged. He needed to say something, anything to regain control. But when Wooyoung’s hand brushed against his shoulder as he reached for the file on his desk, it was like a spark had been lit, igniting a fire he wasn’t ready to deal with.

“I—" Yunho cleared his throat, his mind racing. "I have work to do.”

Wooyoung didn’t pull away. Instead, he leaned in just enough for their faces to be inches apart. "Are you sure? You look... distracted, boss." His voice was low now, a whisper that sent a shiver down his spine.

There it was. That undeniable magnetism. The way Wooyoung seemed to always be able to push the boundaries without ever fully crossing them. He was testing him, pushing him to the edge without ever going too far.

Yunho took a deep breath, determined not to let his emotions get the best of him. “You should leave.”

But the assistant didn’t move. Instead, he smiled—a smile that was both teasing and knowing—and for a fleeting moment, he wondered if Wooyoung knew exactly what he was doing.

“What if I don’t want to?” he asked, his voice dropping to a near seductive murmur. The tension between them was palpable now, like a current running through the room, ready to snap.

Yunho was acutely aware of every inch of proximity—his breath, his scent, the way his sharp jawline was just within reach. His mind screamed at him to push him away, to stop this before it went too far, but his body betrayed him. Every muscle seemed to tighten, his heart hammering against his chest as he fought to keep himself in check.

“I’m your boss,” he said, his voice more forceful than he intended.

Wooyoung smirked, leaning in just a fraction more, the heat from his body almost suffocating. “And yet, here I am. Still not going anywhere.” He chuckled.

The playful defiance in his eyes sent a jolt of electricity through Yunho’s veins. It was maddening. How could someone so confident, so infuriatingly charming, make him feel like this?

For a moment, neither of them spoke. The silence stretched, the only sound the soft ticking of the clock on the wall.

“Why do you do this?” he finally asked, his voice quieter now, the harsh edge gone. There was no mistaking the frustration in his words, but also something else—something softer.

Wooyoung tilted his head, considering the question. “Do what?” he replied, his voice dripping with innocence, though his boss could see the faint glint of mischief in his eyes.

Yunho’s eyes narrowed, his fingers tapping impatiently on the desk. “This... game. The way you always—” He cut himself off, unwilling to admit how difficult it was to keep his composure around him. “You know exactly what I mean.”

For a brief moment, Wooyoung’s playful smile faltered. His eyes softened, and for the first time, he saw a hint of vulnerability—just a fleeting glimpse, but enough to make his chest tighten. His assistant stepped back slightly, giving him some space, though the magnetic pull between them was still undeniable.

“I just like to see if you’ll break,” Wooyoung said after a beat, his voice much quieter now, almost thoughtful. “You’re always so... controlled. So serious. I want to see what happens when you’re not.”

Yunho’s heart skipped a beat at the raw honesty in his words. There was something about that that felt different from the usual playful teasing. This was something deeper, something that both scared and excited him.

Before he could respond, Wooyoung straightened, smoothing out his suit jacket as he took a step back. “I’ll leave you to your work, boss,” he said, the teasing tone gone from his voice. “But you know where to find me if you need anything.”

With that, he turned and walked out, leaving Yunho alone in his office, his mind a tangled mess of thoughts. What had just happened? Was it just another flirtatious exchange, or was something more brewing beneath the surface?

He didn’t know. But one thing was for sure—he couldn’t ignore him any longer. The tension was only growing, and for the first time, he wasn’t sure he wanted it to stop.

The city outside the office building had quieted, the hum of the traffic gradually fading into the night. His thoughts had been running in circles, each one leading him back to the same conclusion: he couldn’t stop thinking about him. It was more than the playful banter or the flirtatious teasing—it was the way Wooyoung seemed to see through him, the way he made him feel something he hadn’t allowed himself to feel in a long time. Vulnerable. Human.

After hours of wrestling with his own emotions, Yunho made a decision.

He grabbed his coat and left the office, a quiet resolve settling in his chest. He knew where he had to go.

The drive to Wooyoung's loft had felt like an eternity. His thoughts were a whirlwind of confusion, longing, and doubt. Every time he thought about turning back, his fingers tightened around the steering wheel, urging him forward. He wasn’t sure what he was looking for, or what he hoped to find when he arrived, but something inside him refused to let go of the need to see him.

When he finally pulled up in front of the building, he took a deep breath, staring out at the lights in the distance. He had always been in control of everything in his life—his career, his image, his emotions. But tonight, everything felt like it was slipping through his fingers. The thought of Wooyoung—of the way he had looked at him earlier, full of understanding and something more—had haunted him all evening. And no matter how many times he tried to push it away, it lingered.

A part of him feared what would happen if he crossed this line. Another part of him feared what would happen if he didn’t.

When he arrived at the loft, the lights were on, a soft glow spilling through the windows. Yunho stood outside for a moment, his hand hovering over the doorbell. He hadn’t planned for this moment. He wasn’t prepared to admit what was happening inside him—how this man had quietly and completely taken over his thoughts.

Before he could think too much about it, his finger pressed the doorbell. He took the elevator up in silence, his chest tight, his mind a flurry of conflicted thoughts. What was he doing here? Wooyoung was his assistant—his subordinate. He couldn’t let this happen.

But deep down, he knew he was already too far gone. The attraction had been building for too long, and now, there was no escape.

When the door opened, Wooyoung stood there, looking surprised but not displeased to see him. His gaze softened at the sight of Yunho standing in front of him, the faintest smile tugging at the corners of his lips. He was still in his work attire but with his jacket off and his tie loose around his neck.

“Mr. Jeong,” he greeted, his voice a little lighter than usual. “I didn’t expect to see you tonight.”

Yunho caught his breath. He had been so sure of himself on the drive over, but now, standing face-to-face with him, his resolve was faltering. There was a weight to Wooyoung’s presence that unsettled him—a feeling that only intensified the closer he got.

His throat tightened at the sound of his name, the softness in his voice making his chest ache in a way he wasn’t prepared for.

“I—” Yunho started, his voice hoarse, and for a moment, he wasn’t sure what to say. “I need to talk.”

His assistant raised an eyebrow, stepping aside to allow him in. His boss hesitated for a brief second before walking inside. The loft was not as spacious as his own, but the warm lighting gave it a comfortable atmosphere. It was far removed from the cold, impersonal offices of the company, and in that moment, he could feel the weight of the day lift off his shoulders just by being in Wooyoung’s presence.

He led him to his couch, gesturing for him to sit down. He poured two glasses of wine, then handed one to his guest before sitting next to him.

The silence between them stretched for a moment, comfortable but charged. He couldn’t stop stealing glances at Wooyoung, whose gaze was focused on his glass, his fingers tracing the rim absentmindedly, his presence a silent invitation for Yunho to let his guard down. But he couldn’t. Not yet.

“You’ve been quiet,” Wooyoung finally said, breaking the silence. “It’s not like you.”

Yunho exhaled slowly, his mind racing with the words he wanted to say but couldn’t quite form. “I don’t know how to say this,” he admitted.

His gaze flickered to Wooyoung’s lips, and the air around them thickened. It was as if the world faded away, leaving only the two of them in that moment. The words he had wanted to say caught in his throat, and he felt like he couldn’t breathe.

“I don’t know how to stop thinking… about you,” Yunho finally admitted in a strained whisper, the confession slipping from his lips before he could stop it. He immediately regretted it, but it was too late.

Wooyoung didn’t look surprised, but there was a flicker of softness, of something understanding.

“You don’t have to stop thinking about me,” he said, his voice barely above a whisper, his eyes meeting Yunho’s with an intensity that made his breath hitch. Wooyoung’s gaze flickered with surprise, then softened. He leaned in slightly, his hand brushing against his wrist. It was a simple touch, but it sent a jolt of warmth through his entire body.

The words hung in the air between them, a confession unspoken but undeniable. And then, suddenly, it felt like there was no room left for doubt, for hesitation. Yunho’s hand moved without thinking, his fingers brushing lightly against Wooyoung’s. It was the slightest touch, but it was enough to send a shock of electricity through his veins.

The other looked at him, his expression unreadable, but there was a softness in his eyes. Yunho’s heart thudded in his chest. He had built a life around control, around not allowing anyone to see his vulnerabilities. But this man was different.

Yunho’s breath hitched. The teasing was still there, but it felt like an invitation rather than a challenge. He finally turned to face him fully, his heart racing in his chest.

“I’ve been holding myself back,” he said, his voice trembling with the weight of everything he had been trying to suppress.
“Trying to ignore what’s been happening between us.”

Wooyoung’s expression shifted, becoming more serious as he closed the distance between them. His hand, still resting lightly on Yunho’s, tightened slightly.

“Why?” He asked softly, his voice barely above a whisper.

Yunho let out a shaky breath, his mind swirling with conflicting thoughts. He had never been one to let anyone in, but with him he somehow didn’t want to hold back anymore.

“Because I was afraid,” he admitted, his voice barely audible. “Afraid of losing control. Afraid of what might happen if I let myself feel what I’m feeling.”

Wooyoung didn’t pull away. Instead, his hand found its way to his chest, his fingers splayed over his shirt as he leaned in, his breath warm against Yunho’s skin.

His eyes softened even more, his thumb brushing against Yunho’s hand in a gentle, reassuring motion.

Yunho’s heart pounded in his chest, his body screaming for something more, but his mind still clung to the last remnants of restraint. “Wooyoung,” he breathed, the word a plea, a question, a warning.

The low hum of music was playing in the background, one hand still intertwined. The air was thick with anticipation as Yunho leaned in, his breath warm against Wooyoung‘s neck.

"You keep looking at me like that," he murmured, his fingers tracing lazy circles on Wooyoung‘s thigh. His lips brushed just beneath his ear, barely there, teasing. "I can feel how much you want this… but I think I like watching you squirm."

His touch stayed light, fingertips dragging over the fabric of the dress pants, a slow torment. "Tell me how bad you want it." Yunho‘s voice was thick with promise.

"Oh, you like this, don’t you?" Wooyoung murmured, dragging his fingertips up his chest, just barely grazing the skin through the shirt. "All this waiting, this teasing…"

Yunho shifted, his body just close enough that his opposite could feel the heat radiating off him, but he didn't give in. Instead, his lips hovered, breath mingling, the anticipation electric.

"I could kiss you right now," he whispers, his voice rich with temptation. "Or… I could make you beg for it."

His fingers trailed lower again, tracing the waistband of Wooyoung's pants, slipping just beneath for a second before retreating, leaving him wanting more. Their eyes interlocked with challenge.

"How much do you want me?" he taunted, his lips so close that if the other moved even an inch, they’d finally touch. But he waited—because he wanted to hear Wooyoung say it. It was a powerplay, and it was exhilarating.

A slow smirk tugged at Wooyoung as he shifted slightly, just enough for his thigh to press against his boss‘, the friction barely there but enough to make him notice. His hand trailed up Yunho‘s arm, featherlight.

He let his fingers wander lower, mirroring the teasing touches, brushing just over the hem of his shirt, fingertips skimming warm skin beneath. Yunho heard his breath hitch, just for a second, before he regained control.

His hands tightened on Wooyoung‘s waist, pulling him just an inch closer, his voice lower now. "Careful," he warned, but there was no real threat behind it—rather a promise.

Suddenly, Yunho moved, his hands gripping Wooyoung‘s hips as he pushed him back against the couch, pinning the young man beneath him. His body pressed flush against his, heat radiating between them. Yunho‘s lips finally crashed against his—hungry, demanding, making up for every second of teasing.

"You asked for this," he growled against his mouth, his hands already sliding lower, making it clear he’s done playing.

A low chuckle rumbled in his chest as he watched his assistant, his grip firm, his body pressing him deeper into the cushions. "That’s what I thought," he murmured before capturing his lips again—this time with no restraint.

The kiss was deep, commanding, his tongue sweeping, as his hands roamed, no longer teasing, no longer holding back. His fingers slid beneath Wooyoung's loose shirt, palms warm against his skin as he pushed the fabric higher, their touch sending shivers through his veins.

"You’ve been driving me crazy for months now," Yunho growled, breaking away just enough to look into Wooyoung‘s eyes, his own dark with need. "You want to play?"

His lips trailed down his neck, open-mouthed kisses mixed with soft bites, earning quiet gasps, each one sending a spark of heat through his body. His hands explore, gripping, claiming every inch of him as if he’s making up for every second they had to wait.

Then Yunho got up in one fluid movement, picking Wooyoung up like it's nothing to him and it made his heart flutter just a bit.
“Your bedroom?!“

“Next to the bathroom!“ Wooyoung‘s voice was a little hoarse with pleasant surprise and just shortly after his back gently hit the soft mattress.

His boss was demanding, tearing the clothes of his body like they‘d personally insulted him. He was in a rush and Wooyoung seemed to enjoy the greedy glint in his eyes.

“Take it slow boss, I‘m not going anywhere,“ he teased.

“Silence!“

He was about to snap back, but something in his boss‘ voice kept his mouth shut. This kind of tone from him mixed with the way he‘s manhandling him seemed turned him on and he‘s quick to follow his every order. And Yunho was pleased with the effect he had on him.

He held him in place with a hard grip. If it was hurting, he didn’t complain.

“Are you a virgin?“ Yunho's breath gently brushed Wooyoung's ears and he shook his head.

"Good.“

It‘s his go. Everything he needed to know, because he was not holding back as he slowly started to fuck him, pressing his lean body into the soft sheets. He quickly took up pace, a low grunting coming from his lips.

His eyes were dark as he gazed down at Wooyoung. This was it. And it‘s better than everything he had ever imagined up there in his lonely office. Every time he had left with a teasing smile and pants too tight for his sanity.

And finally it was all breaking out of him like a rush of need, want, greed. Everything that he had pushed down for months, watching his assistant flaunt his perfect little body through his office.

The want was getting stronger as the memories came flooding back, everytime Wooyoung had left him close to madness. And he let all of his sexual frustration, all the tension flow into his movements, the young man under him whimpering and pleading and it's everything he needed.

His fingers dug deeper into Wooyoung‘s skin, one hand holding him in place. The other was gently gracing his neck, pressing the veins down just enough to stimulate the blood flow.

And Wooyoung liked it. He knew he did. It was in his eyes, the way his lids are slightly hooded, his lips just barely apart, pushing him agonizingly closer to the edge until he lost control.

The first thing Yunho registered as he drifted back into consciousness was the warmth. A comfortable heat pressed against his skin, a pleasant contrast to the usual cool, impersonal feel of his sheets at home. It took him a moment to realize why everything felt so different—why the air smelled faintly of something rich and bitter, why the sheets were softer, why there was a lingering soreness in his muscles that felt earned.

And then it hit him.

Last night.

Wooyoung.

His eyes fluttered open, as their shared moans echo in his mind, the golden glow of early morning filtering through the curtains. The other side of the bed was empty, but the sheets still warm, faintly rumpled where Wooyoung had been. Yunho exhaled slowly, rubbing a hand over his face as he let the memory of the night before settle over him.

He had expected guilt. He had expected second thoughts, regret clawing at the edges of his mind. But none of that came. Instead, there was only a quiet certainty—a rare kind of peace that he wasn’t used to feeling.

The sound of soft humming and the clink of dishes pulled him from his thoughts. He pushed himself up, the sheet slipping from his waist as he turned his head toward the small kitchen at the other end of the loft.

And there he was.

Wooyoung stood with his back to him, wearing nothing but a loose pair of pajama pants that hung dangerously low on his hips. His dark hair was still a mess from sleep, strands falling over his eyes as he lazily stirred a mug of coffee, completely at ease in his own space.

Yunho leaned against the headboard, watching him.

As if sensing the attention, Wooyoung smirked without even turning around. “Good morning, Mr. Jeong,” he said, the teasing lilt in his voice unmistakable.

Yunho rolled his eyes, but he couldn’t fight the small smile tugging at his lips. “I think after last night, you can drop the ‘mister,’” he replied, voice still thick from sleep.

Wooyoung finally turned, holding out a steaming mug in Yunho’s direction. His lips curled into something wicked. “Oh? But what if I like it?” he teased, padding over to the bed with slow, deliberate steps. “After all, power suits you, sir.”

Yunho raised an eyebrow, accepting the coffee but narrowing his eyes at Wooyoung’s mischievous expression.
“Are you always this insufferable in the morning?”

Wooyoung climbed onto the bed, settling in beside him with his own cup, entirely too pleased with himself. “Only when I wake up next to my boss after an absolutely scandalous night,” he purred, his knee brushing against his thigh.

Yunho took a slow sip of his coffee, as if unbothered, but Wooyoung wasn’t fooled. He could see the way his jaw clenched, the way his fingers flexed slightly around the mug.

“What are you thinking about?” he mused, tilting his head. “You’re being quiet again.”

Yunho exhaled, staring down at the dark brew in his hands. He didn’t know how to say it—how to admit that something inside him had shifted overnight.

“I’m thinking about how to keep this from blowing up in our faces.”

Wooyoung made a noise of protest. “Ugh. That’s what you’re thinking about? You really are a CEO down to your bones.”

Yunho gave him a look. “This isn’t a joke.”

The young man clicked his tongue, setting his coffee down on the nightstand. “No, it’s not. But if you start overthinking it this early in the morning, I might have to start calling you ‘Mr. Jeong’ again just to mess with you.”

Yunho sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. “I’m serious.”

Wooyoung softened slightly, reaching out to trace lazy patterns over his forearm. “I know,” he murmured. “You’re always serious. But last night…” He bit his lip, his gaze flickering down before he met Yunho’s eyes again. “You weren’t just my boss… Although, you were quite bossy,” he mused.

The words hit Yunho harder than he expected.

He had spent years making sure people only saw him as one thing—powerful, disciplined. And yet, Wooyoung saw past all of it like it was nothing.

Yunho reached out, his fingers brushing Wooyoung’s jaw, tilting his face up. The teasing glint in his eyes dimmed slightly, replaced with something more vulnerable.

“I don’t want to hurt you,” Yunho admitted quietly. “If this gets out… if people talk—”

His assistant cut him off with a small, knowing smile. “Then we make sure they don’t.”

Yunho raised an eyebrow. “Oh? And how do you propose we do that?”

Wooyoung grinned, shifting to straddle his lap in one fluid motion, hands settling on his chest. “Well,” he said, voice dripping with amusement, “we could always keep up the act at work. You, the terrifying, no-nonsense CEO. Me, the annoyingly devoted assistant who would never dream of seducing his boss.”

Yunho scoffed, fingers gripping his waist instinctively. “That is the truth, isn’t it?”

Wooyoung gasped dramatically. “Oh, absolutely! I would never undermine workplace professionalism, Mr. Jeong.”

His boss exhaled a laugh, shaking his head. “You’re ridiculous.”

“And yet, you’re in my bed,” Wooyoung shot back, leaning in just a little closer. “So what does that say about you?”

Yunho didn’t answer. He simply held his gaze, heart hammering against his ribs as realization settled in his chest. He was doomed.

But Yunho had never been one to run from a challenge.

So he tightened his grip on Wooyoung’s waist, let his eyes darken just slightly, and murmured, “I suppose we’ll just have to be very, very careful then.”

Wooyoung smirked, but he could hear the way his breath hitched, the way anticipation flickered in his eyes. “Oh,” he mused, his fingers tracing over Yunho’s collarbone. “I do love a good challenge.”

His boss exhaled sharply, unable to fight the grin pulling at his lips.

So did he.

The ride to the office was quiet. Not in an uncomfortable way, but in the kind of silence that held a thousand unspoken words between them. Yunho’s hands gripped the wheel a little tighter than usual, his mind still processing the events of the morning—of last night.

Wooyoung sat in the passenger seat, legs crossed, scrolling through his phone and moving his lips to some k-pop song, blaring from the radio. He could see the way his lips curled ever so slightly, the way his fingers tapped idly against the screen as if he were waiting for Yunho to break first.

And damn it, he was close.

He had woken up to the scent of coffee, to the warmth of used sheets beside him, to the teasing glint in his eyes that made it nearly impossible to leave the loft that morning. He had wanted nothing more than to pull Wooyoung back into bed and ignore the responsibilities of the real world altogether.

But Yunho wasn’t the kind of man who ignored responsibilities.

So here they were, driving toward their carefully constructed reality, pretending that last night hadn’t blurred every line they were supposed to maintain.

It wasn’t until they pulled into the private parking garage beneath the company building that Wooyoung finally spoke.

“You’re being again awfully quiet, Mr. Jeong.”

Yunho sighed, turning off the engine before resting his head against the seat. “I’m thinking.”

His assistant hummed, tilting his head playfully. “Uh-oh.”

His boss shot him a dry look. “I’m thinking about how we’re going to handle this at work.”

Wooyoung blinked innocently. “Handle what?”

Yunho gave him a pointed stare.

“Oh, you mean us?” he asked, feigning surprise. “I don’t see the issue. We’ve always been good at pretending, haven’t we?”

The CEO rubbed his temples. “You really don’t take anything seriously, do you?”

Wooyoung grinned, unbuckling his seatbelt and leaning in ever so slightly. “Oh, I take a lot of things seriously. Just not things I know I can handle.”

Yunho exhaled sharply, eyes locked onto Wooyoung’s. The confidence in those words was infuriatingly attractive.

And he hated how much he loved it.

“We’ll keep it professional in the office,” Yunho said firmly, regaining control of the conversation. “No slipping up. No flirting.”

Wooyoung gasped dramatically. “No flirting? You might as well ask me to stop breathing, sir. Besides, you said to keep things normal. People expect it from me.”

“I’m serious.”

Wooyoung grinned, leaning back. “Fine, fine. I’ll be so professional, you won’t even recognize me.”

His boss wasn’t convinced for even a second. Still, he got out of the car and adjusted his tie, slipping back into the role of CEO Jeong. The man who was in control. The man who didn’t make reckless decisions like, brainlessly fucking his way too attractive subordinate.

As they stepped into the elevator, Wooyoung’s posture shifted almost imperceptibly. His usual mischievous energy dimmed just a bit, replaced by the polished, competent assistant everyone in the company knew him as.

It was impressive, really. The way he could switch between personas so effortlessly.

“Your first meeting is in twenty minutes,” he said smoothly, his voice professional. “After that, you have a conference call with the Tokyo branch at ten, and I’ve already prepared the documents you requested for the quarterly review.”

Yunho nodded, barely able to believe that this was the same man whose naked body had been pressed against him, teasing him about power dynamics just hours ago.

But this was how it had to be. No slip-ups.

At least, that was the plan

By the time lunchtime rolled around, Yunho thought he was doing a pretty good job of keeping things under control. He hadn’t looked at Wooyoung for too long. He hadn’t let his mind wander to how he had felt under him, how his lips had tasted, how—

Damn it, focus.

He had almost convinced himself that he could manage this. Until Wooyoung walked into his office with a knowing smile and a single sticky note, placing it on his desk without a word.

Yunho frowned, reaching for it. His heartbeat stuttered the moment he read the message.

"Missing me already? You keep staring at my ass."

Yunho’s eyes flickered up to Wooyoung, who simply offered an innocent smile. “Need anything else, sir?” His grip on the note tightened.

The moment the General Manager walked into his office, Wooyoung knew he was in trouble.

Park Seonghwa was too sharp for his own good. He was the kind of man who could detect a shift in the air with just a glance, the type who noticed when a chair had been moved slightly out of place, when someone’s tie was adjusted a little too hastily.

And right now, Wooyoung could feel his gaze slicing through the room like a knife.

“Busy morning?” Seonghwa asked casually, taking a seat across from Yunho’s desk, his arms folding neatly across his chest, his legs crossed. His dark eyes flickered between the two of them, unreadable.

The CEO barely glanced up from the document in his hands. “As always.”

Wooyoung, standing a little too stiffly beside his desk, plastered on his usual smirk. “Oh, you know how it is, Mr. Park. Our boss works me to the bone.”

Seonghwa hummed, the corners of his lips twitching like he was fighting back a knowing smirk. “Is that so?”

Wooyoung’s grip on his tablet tightened. There was something about the way Seonghwa was looking at him—something knowing.

“Anyway,” Seonghwa continued, flipping open his own folder, “I came to confirm a few details regarding the investor meeting next week. I assume you’ve already reviewed the contracts?”

Yunho nodded, shifting into full business mode. “I have. I want a final briefing on their latest portfolio before we proceed.”

Yunho should have been relieved by the shift in topic. Should have taken it as a chance to regain control. But he wasn’t stupid. He knew Seonghwa too well.

The man was a vulture. He circled patiently, waiting for the perfect moment to sink his claws in. A kind, big eyed vulture nonetheless.

And right now, he had the distinct feeling that they were the prey.

~

After the meeting, Wooyoung barely made it to his desk before Seonghwa appeared beside him, his presence sudden and unshakable like a shadow.

“Wooyoung,” he said, his voice low.

The assistant sighed dramatically, spinning lazily in his chair to face him. “Ah, my favorite General Manager. To what do I owe the pleasure?”

Seonghwa didn’t smile. Didn’t even blink. “Walk with me.”

Wooyoung narrowed his eyes, but he pushed up from his chair, following Seonghwa down the hall. They stopped near the high windows overlooking the city, just out of earshot from any nosy coworkers.

And that’s when Seonghwa turned to him, arms crossed, expression unreadable.

Wooyoung didn’t let his smirk waver. “Are you about to confess your love for me? Because I should warn you—I’m already taken…kinda.”

Seonghwa ignored the remark entirely. “You’re playing a dangerous game.”

Wooyoung’s smirk faltered just slightly.

Seonghwa tilted his head, eyes scanning his face carefully. “I don’t know what’s going on between you and Mr. Jeong”—he emphasized the name just enough to make Wooyoung’s stomach twist—“but I suggest you tread carefully.”

Wooyoung raised an eyebrow, arms folding across his chest. “That’s a bold assumption.”

Seonghwa exhaled a quiet laugh, shaking his head. “Don’t insult my intelligence.” His voice was softer now, almost concerned like talking to a child. “You think no one notices the way he looks at you?”

Wooyoung opened his mouth—then closed it.

Shit.

He knew he had been pushing his luck. Knew the stolen glances, the teasing remarks, the subtle shifts in Yunho’s posture whenever Wooyoung was near—they were all risks.

And now, someone had noticed.

Seonghwa sighed, running a hand through his hair. “Office romances don’t end well, Wooyoung.” His voice was quieter now, almost as if he wasn’t just speaking from logic, but experience. “Especially when they involve someone in power.”

Wooyoung swallowed. He had always been good at keeping things light, at making everything feel like a joke so that no one ever saw what was really under the surface.

But Seonghwa saw. And that was dangerous.

Wooyoung forced a grin, tilting his head. “Come on, you make it sound like I’m getting myself into something serious.”

Seonghwa didn’t smile. “Aren’t you?”

Wooyoung’s heart slammed against his ribs. For the first time, he had no immediate response.

And that silence told him everything he needed to know. After a long pause, Seonghwa exhaled, his shoulders relaxing just slightly. “Look, I’m not your enemy. I just don’t want to see any of you get hurt.”

Wooyoung forced his usual cocky grin back into place, even though his chest felt uncomfortably tight. “Please. If anyone’s doing the hurting, it’s me.”

His superior gave him a long, hard look before shaking his head. “Just… be careful.”

And with that, he turned and walked away, leaving Wooyoung staring after him, his words ringing in his head.

Office romances don’t end well.

Wooyoung swallowed. But he‘d always liked a challenge.
