Chapter Text
A lot. A lot could apparently go wrong.
Having been attacked by a Cold One as a child, Jacob Black shifted at three years old for the first time. His dad helped him learn to shift back. It took two weeks. The elders were told immediately afterwards. His sisters, Rachel and Rebecca, were told next, the 8-year-old twins having been staying with Billy Black’s friend Harry Clearwater and his family while Jacob and Billy ‘recovered’ from the ‘car crash’ that killed Billy’s wife Sarah and left Billy in a wheelchair. The rogue vampire that attacked them was played off as a drunk driver and subsequently brushed under the rug.
Billy was dealing with the loss of his wife, the loss of his legs, a toddler that once able to shift back into a human form, could not choose between one skin or the other, two 8 year olds who were way to smart for their own good who had decided that their brother being the only ‘cool one’ in the family was unfair and so they had to learn magic, and keeping everyone not in the know away from his family until he could get control. Let’s just say, it was a rough several years.
It had finally settled down. Well, as settled down as it can get in a family with a newly 14-year-old who, at this point, acted more wolf than man, two 19-year-olds who, somehow, taught themselves magic through the use of their ancestors texts and the internet, and a 40-year-old, wheelchair bound single father. But the point is, it had finally slowed a bit. And then his son had to disappear for three months and come back with a daughter. Who had Jacob knocked up? When? Well, actually, that last question is pretty self explanatory.
More importantly, why was said daughter, a barely a week-fresh wolf pup? Well, there goes a summer of peaceful fishing trips with Charlie. Hello grandparenthood.
