Chapter Text

“No, No no no no! Where are they??” Percy rummaged through his suitcase, which was filled with some suppressants, some toiletries, and little space things he had brought. He couldn’t find anything so he took a taxi back to his mom’s house. He was already teetering back and forth between being little and being big. He already warned Chiron that he was taking a trip back home for the day. He was grateful that he was allowed to. The scent didn’t help. If monsters knew he was running around with such a sent meant for just littles, and that he was a demigod, there probably wouldn’t be a Percy.

He made it back to his mom’s and stumbled to the door, where Sally already greeted him with open arms. He was grateful to have someone there when he needed it. He slumped into his mom’s arms and she picked him up. “I told you that you should have brought more, honey. Let’s get some food into you and we can do anything you want today. Hm?”

“Get fishy too?” He squeaked out quietly. Captain was a great friend to Percy when he needed something to squeeze. His stuffie that is. Captain is a big blue fish that his mom got four years before the first year at camp. He’s seen quite a few wear and tears but his mom always stitched it back together.

“Yes honey. You will get Captain. I’m pretty sure he misses your adventures with him.” She brings him over to a high chair and places him into it which he immediately starts swinging his legs. She starts getting to work on some blue scrambled eggs. Percy starts putting the collar of his shirt which has a bit of dirt in his mouth. She spun on her heels and laughed and took the shirt out of his mouth which earned a small pout. “I definitely forgot to give you your paci. Didn’t I?” She went to the cabinet that was above the fridge with all of his little supplies in the kitchen and brought out a Dory paci. She cleaned it off in the water and brought it to his mouth which he accepted with a smile.

She finished with the eggs and put it on the table in front of him. He squealed when he saw the blue and tried to eat it with his hands but his mom grabbed onto his hands and gave him a small stern look. “No mister. We don’t use our hands.” She let go and waited a second before continuing. “Are you big enough to use a fork on your own?” She was answered with Percy trying to handle the eggs with his hands again which had the same results. She went over and got a baby fork from the drawer and walked back over and took his paci out. She laughed at the thought of his food trying to go through the paci.

“Say ahhh,” she brought the fork with some eggs on it up to his mouth which he latched on and gave a happy wiggle after the fork was taken out.

Soon, they both heard a rumble and then it stopped. “It was probably just an eart-” They saw the wall from the door being ripped off and a minotaur walked in eyeing the place before landing on Percy.

“Little demigod…” He could only say before charging in, but not before Sally got Percy out of the highchair and put him somewhere a bit safer. As in the other side of the room. Percy was confused on why there was a monster in his mom’s place and he was in such a daze that he didn’t notice his mom trying to snap him out of it. After a good minute, he ripped himself out of his little space and grabbed his mom before the minotaur got to him. He pulled Riptide out and got in the distance between it and his mom.

“Go and get into the other room, Mom. I got this!” She asked no questions and ran off to her bedroom. Even though she so badly wanted to help and he knew she could fight, she knew what he was thinking. That it was his fault that the minotaur came looking for him.

He dodged the horned beast and tried not to knock anything down. He realized that he would have to finish, or try to finish this quickly. He ran towards the minotaur and stabbed him with full force. A bloodcurdling howl could be heard from probably outside. Percy looked down at the ashes that remained and his mom peeked out and emerged from the bedroom.

Percy tried not to say anything but could only whimper out, “I’m sorry Mom. I’ll help clean up.”

Sally looked devasted by the look on Percy’s face and put a hand on his back. “Nonsense. You can help clean up but don’t ever think that this is your fault.” Percy looked up at his mom and saw a soft smile which gave him enough motivation to help clean up.

After about an hour of going through the few things that had been broken, and the dust that was scattered on the floor, and Percy oh so many times blaming himself, they finally finished. Wasn’t the first time that her placed was trashed from some Greek things going on. She remembered when Mrs. O’Leary pounced on everything before.

“I’m going to head back to camp. Tell Chiron what happened.”

She smiled and patted Percy’s head, smiling. “Alright. Again, don’t beat yourself up over it.” Percy gave a small smile and headed out the door. Once out of sound, Sally straightened up and talked out loud. “If you want to talk about something. You better talk now.”

Just then, Poseidon appeared behind her, inspecting the damage. “I saw what happened. I was thinking about something.”

“What is it?” Sally whipped around to where Poseidon was standing. He gave a curt nod. Sometimes, she wishes that Poseidon was a regular human. But only briefly now, since she has someone amazing now.

“I was thinking that Percy could stay with me. Train with me. I know it’s not a God’s way of doing things, but if he’s also a little, that also means that camp could also be in danger. The rest of the gods also think that since Percy is so strong, more monsters could be after him if they knew he was a little. Strong littles could be a tasty feast for monsters. You know his classification only came out last year. So now, he’s developing into a strong little demigod. He is going to need the protection.”

Sally sat there, gripping onto the couch. She knew that something like this could have happened. She just didn’t guess it would be so soon. She took a deep breath and looked up at Poseidon. “Is there any other options?”

“The only other option is to put him under constant surveillance. This means no quests and no talking with his other demigod friends. Any of that is off-limits. It could put Percy in danger if doesn’t have proper training.” Poseidon looked away knowing those were the only two options.

Sally sighed knowing it’s the only way to help Percy grow as a good adult, and to have his circle of friend’s not being ripped from him. “If it is the only way without putting a damper on Percy’s mental health, then I will allow it. But you already know that you have to talk to Percy and the camp counselor.”

“I already talked to him and I’ll be working on getting Percy’s approval tomorrow.” Sally nodded. “I’ll talk to you soon for an update.” Poseidon disappeared and Sally collapsed on the couch.
