Chapter Text

“This final judgment has been hereby declared… by the court of The Ennead.”

The judgement is over. Maat put away her feather. The glowing hieroglyphs that circled Seth finally dissolved. His headdress disappeared like sand as his bright red hair was then revealed. The crowd moved closer, anticipating the Evil God’s reveal.

“Eek!”

“His hair is the color of blood!”

“Is it red because of all the blood he spilled?”

“A cursed color!”

The group of Gods riot at the reveal of the Evil God’s hidden appearance. The Evil God in question glared, as he was ridiculed and mocked by the Gods. Meanwhile, a foreign God stared at the red-head’s beauty. He then grinned, as he looked at Seth with excitement. Behind Seth, the young Horus stayed quiet but concerned on Seth’s decision and well-being.

Seth’s power flowed to Maat as she sealed them inside a crystal. It floated on Maat’s hand, glowing brightly as ever. She then proceeded to say her final sentences.

“And with this, the trial of The Ennead shall now come to a close.”

“Uncle”

Seth footsteps came to an end. He grimaced, looking back at the falcon headed Demigod who sneakily approached him.

“What is it do you want?” Seth asked coldly. He crossed his arms as he looked back at Horus with anger and confusion. It was already dark outside when they met in the hall.

Horus hesitated for a moment. Staring down a bit until he looked back at Seth. “I… I would like to apologize. About that night…” He clenched his hands, clearly uncomfortable with his actions the day before the third trial. Even if it wasn’t entirely his fault.

Seth huffed, turned his back away from Horus. “Save it. For what reason you must apologize?”

“Uncle I-“

“You won, nephew.”

Horus stopped. He looked at Seth’s back as the man himself looked back at him with the coldest eyes he has seen. Seeing those eyes that once looked at him lovingly broke his heart.

“I lost, and you won. Wouldn’t it be wise if you go back there and celebrate your victory against the Scummy God?” Seth sneered, clenching his teeth.

“You’re not scummy…” the statement from Horus made the red head laughed.

“You really have bad humor…” Seth looked away as he took a step forward. “Be a dear and stay out of my way. And I meant it.” He emphasized the word.

Before another step, something tugs unto Seth’s hand. Horus held unto it, like it was his dear life he was holding. Seth sighed, trying to shake away the big hands that held unto his very perfectly.

“Let go, now.” Seth told as he began trying to break free from the Demigod’s grasp.

Horus only tightened his grasp, shaking a bit. “I can’t…”

“And why not!?” Seth exclaimed, shocking Horus in the process. “I killed your father! I made your mother run away! You lived in the slums because of me! I even killed women and little boys, so why won’t you let me go!?”

“Because I love you!”

Seth almost stepped away from Horus’ declaration. He was shocked and for some reason, he felt something about his statement.

Horus gripped his Seth’s hand before he could escape. He smoothed the pale hand with his, looking at it with adornment. “And it’s not… a lie.”

Something inside Seth tugged deeply from that one statement alone. It’s weird, he doesn’t like the feeling… but he yearned for it.

Seth put his hand that was not held by Horus to the Demigod’s cheek. He pulled them both together as Seth kissed him for the second time. Horus was stunned for the moment as he slowly melt to the kiss, lowering his guard and letting go of Seth’s hand little by little. Seth used this chance to pushed Horus away and quickly rushed.

Horus fell back, as he saw Seth ran out with his figure growing little by little. “Uncle…! Wait-“

“Horus!”

Horus looked back and saw his mother speeding up to him. She quickly moved by his side.

“Are you okay? Did he hurt you?” Isis asked, as she helped him stand up.

“Mother it’s okay-“

“What are you even doing with him?” Isis held her son by the shoulders, looking at him sternly.

Horus looked away, as he stared at the path that Seth ran to.

Isis sighed as she looked at her son. “Horus, I would like you to stop looking at Seth.”

And with this, the Demigod looked back at his mother with shock and fear in his eyes that were hidden by his headdress. “Mother I-“

“Stop looking at him. Don’t search for him, don’t spy on him, don’t associate with him. That is an order.” Isis said straight to the point, grasping her son’s shoulders.

“Mother, you can’t be serious! I-“

“This is for your own good Horus!”

Horus froze at Isis voice. It was loud and stern. Horus could tell there was a hint of fear and concern from his mother’s tone. She’s afraid, anxious. Isis put a hand to her face as she tried to calm herself. She looked at Horus, now with a more cautious look.

“This is for our own good, Seth has always brought trouble wherever he goes. Even before… everything happened…” Isis said, looking for the best words to explain.

Horus opened his lips to retaliate but Isis quickly shushed him.

“Don’t… please know that I’m keeping you safe. Trust me, please…” Isis said, her finger is in front of Horus lips to stop him from speaking more.

Horus stood silent, he didn’t know what to say. He wanted to stay by Seth’s side, but he couldn’t disappoint his mother. He knew deep down that Kemet has no Supreme God left after Seth’s loss, so he must take the throne as the rightful heir to Osiris.

“Please promise me not to follow Seth…” Isis sounded desperate. She clenched Horus’ hands in hers.

“Yes mother…”

Isis smiled slightly, she took Horus’ hand. “Now come, everyone is waiting for the new King of Kemet.”

Horus followed his mother as his eyes strayed to the path that Seth took off.

Seth ran as fast as he could. His feet touched the sand in every step he took. Above him, the moon is shining so brightly in the dark sky. He stopped for a while in a secluded area, dropping to the sandy ground. He breathed loudly, his heart was beating from all the running.

“Hah… haha… Fuck, what’s wrong with him…” Seth ran his hand to his hair. “What’s wrong with me…!?” He tugged his hair out of frustration.

Why did he kiss that birdbrain? And why did it feel so… nice. Seth lay down on the sand as he looked at the moon above. He sighed as he reached his hand to the sky, specifically the moon. He looked at the black bracelet that was given by his ex-wife and son, Nephthys and Anubis.

“Stupid… he doesn’t even know anything about love…” Seth grumbled. Nephthys loved him, but it was a lie. She after all loved Osiris, the kind and benevolent King of Kemet. She left him. And soon, Anubis also followed her, leaving Seth alone.

Horus would leave him too. He would fall in love with another God or Goddesses, Hathor perhaps?

Seth closed his eyes, trying to stir away the thoughts away. Tomorrow, he will start gathering clues to activate the curse.

That night, he dreamed of an oasis. Two boys were running together hand in hand. Their joy and laughter echoed through the oasis.

Chapter Text

2 months have passed since the trials, since Horus became the new King of Kemet, and since Seth was sentenced to collect the souls he slaughtered.

The humans cheered on the new King of Kemet as their saviour, Hero of Kemet, for he has overthrown the Evil Tyrant. Caravans are still roaming around, but sooner or later, they would dissolve, that is if they would.

Seth sat down on the streets as he looked at the humans gathering around, hearing about the heroic Tales of Horus, yet again. The redhead, that is now covered in veils, scoffed. The tales is nothing more than a hoax, glorifying the pigeon, as if he's strong!

The sound of rumbling was heard. Seth covered his stomach, holding himself from hunger. It's been like this for these few months. He felt hunger, thirsty, tired, and everything that humans felt. He felt frustrated, angry, humiliated, depressed. Strangely enough, he has been feeling sick lately. Is this how humans felt everyday?

Over the past few days, he has almost endager a priest, met a strange boy, killed someone, almost attacked by jackals, and so on. Yet, he hasn't had any progress on the soul collecting. Seth touched the black bracelet on his wrist slowly. He then closed his eyes, ready to enter his dreamscape.

Seth opened his eyes slowy and glanced to the market near him. A disturbance happened from within. A little girl ran around the market, dodging any obstacle in her way. She was followed by an angry lady, holding a broomstick. "Thief! Capture her!" The lady said.

Some tried to capture the girl, but the girl was just too nimble. Guards who were also in the area tried to capture her too, but failed. The little girl then quickly hid in an alley, away from the public. The people who tried to capture her looked around the area, then retreated. The girl let out a sigh in releaf, turned around and bumping onto someone.

The girl looked up and was met with Seth's piercing red eyes. She tried to run away but Seth grabbed her wrist first. The bread she was holding escaped her grasp and fell down the ground. The girl gasped, trying to let go of Seth's grasp.

"Bread. I assumed it would be a jewel that would cost a lot for people to be screaming like a bunch of chickens. But it's just bread." Seth chuckled. Humans really are a bunch of idiots.

The girl grunted, still trying to remove Seth's grasp. The people from before arrived infront of the alleys they're in. "There she is!" The lady exclaimed, pointing her broomstick onto the girl. The people who were behind her followed her steps.

The girl shocked, bit onto Seth's hand, leaving tooth prints onto his blemished, yet milky skin. Seth twitched a bit from the pain, letting go of the girl. The girl immediately ran away, leaving Seth with the angry humans. Seth looked at the running girl, then at the humans coming after him.

He let out a sigh as he ran away too, not wanting to cause any troubles with the humans. He ran and soon arrived in a different alley, far darker and isolated than before. Seth sat down and let out a sigh from running. He took off his veils and ran his fingers through his red hair.

Just then, his stomach rumbled again, this time with nausea. "Fuck...!" Seth muttered as he covered both his stomach and mouth. He rushed to a sewer and vomited there. He coughed a bit, covering his mouth with his wrist.

Seth breathed heavily. He slowly descended to the ground as he wrapped his stomach with his hand. Tiredness soon consumed his whole body. He closed his eyes and muttered. "Fuck... Isis, is this... how you felt...?"

The dream began with two boys running around the oasis.

Seth doesn't know if it's luck or not, but he managed to find a group of caravans members. It all started when the caravans caused chaos as usual. But this time, their blind ass tried to eliminate a man who has no resemblance to Seth. The real Seth then revealed himself, and he was then taken with them to their base.

Seth looked around the area within. The caravans set up a lot of camps in this certain area. He then looked to the man who was tending him. The man was tall, and has a well built body, but the ugly beard just threw him off.

Just then, a grunt could be heard from outside the camp. A few caravans members brought the same girl from the streets, struggling as the men forcefully pulled her in to the camp.

"Now stay there!" One of the caravan members said, as they dropped her off to the corner.

Seth watched how the caravan members dropped her, walkimg away from the girl they just dropped roughly. The girl sat up, dusting herself from the dirt.

"Hey, you." Seth called out to the man beneath him. Furball looked up at him and gave him one of a silly smile.

"Yes, is there anything you need?" Furball replied.

Seth glanced toward the girl who was right now staring at the ground, scribbling the sand with her finger. "Who's that girl"

Furball looked at the direction that Seth pointed out and shrugged. "No clue. That girl's been a trouble with the men for a long time. But I gotta say she's a cunning one!"

Seth glanced back at Furball. "Not even her name?"

Furball looked back at Seth. "She rarely talks, and nobody seems to call her name. Why, are you interested in her?" He asked, going back to tending Seth.

Seth sighed, looking back at the girl.

The next day, the caravan went to the river where Sobek's priests resides. Seth, who wore the human-made headress and khopesh dodged the crocodiles with skill while conversing with them.

Murmurs ensues between the caravan members. Some believed Seth was actually their God while some didn't believe it at all. Furball on the hand seemed interested on the language Seth spoke.

The Foreign God tilted his head and spotted the weird girl from yesterday. The girl looked at the scene with a calm face but her eyes screams fascination.

Furball first met the girl when he joined the caravan. The girl was silent and boring for most of the time. She seemed weak at first sight, but he knew it was just a facade.

The God felt someone standing next to him. "Must be wondering why she's in the caravan ey?" A caravan member asked.

Furball looked at him when the man started talking. "She was found as a baby when we saw her for the first time. She was supposed to be dead, but the high priest suggested another option."

As Furball was to reply, an agonizing scream broke them out of their stance. An unlucky follower had his hand chop of by a black khopesh. Seth, the wielder of the khopesh, slaughtered the man instantly, going for another, then another, up to the last caravan member in his way.

Seth didn't waste a second, swinging his khopesh at him. The cowardly member dragged the little girl from behind him. The khopesh stopped an inch away from the girl's face as memories of a young boy flooded Seth's memories.

"My Lord, please take this girl instead! Spare--" the head of the coward fell off, soon the body too fell backwards. The girl froze as she looked at the dead caravan behind her. She looked back at Seth and found him moving past her.

The red-haired Demigod took the clothed bag behind them and bringing it back to the crocodile. Afterwards, chaos ensues.

Caravan members died, and the high priest looked at the fiery Demigod with fascination, obsession. Meanwhile, the little girl's eyes shine with what seemed like hope.

"Wow, what a mess..." Said the Furball.

"... Se..."

The little boy walked calmly to Seth.

"... Seth..."

The little boy grew taller as he walked to Seth, reaching his hands to Seth.

"... SETH..."

The boy, now man, gripped Seth's shoulders, blood oozing out of his forehead and eyes.

Seth woke up in a flash. Heart pumping, breath unsteady, and sweating. Fear overcome him as well as... sorrow, anger, guilt. Seth stood up from his position, waliing out of his tent. It was the middle of the night, most members have slept. Seth walked past the area, stressed in his mind.

He sat down on a tree trunk, looking down to his feet. Ever since his downfall, bad luck seemed to loomed over Seth. Even then, Seth already had such bad luck a long time ago.

The meeting with the young King of Kemet caused strange dreams. The dreams were rare at first, but then it started to frequently show. It was... nostalgic(?). But why...?

A light shone in a specific area, as well as clingking sound of a weapon. Seth went to that area and he froze. He couldn't believe it... it's a hallucination... right? A child stood there with a spear in hand. The child striked the dummy with the spear, determined. Memories flooded Seth's mind, of a little boy with a spear, smiling at him.

"Anubis...?"
