Work Text:
After enduring an horrifyingly boring lecture from Detective Almond Cookie, and Professor Eclair Cookie's history class that seemed to last forever, Cream Puff Cookie finally gets to end her long day. She quickly ran to her dorm and threw herself to bed.
Her room fits 3 people, but her 2 other roommates have gone to their house's common room to get some extra study done, it's near exam period after all. She has no energy left for that though, she still has a few days before the exam so she can put it off for now. Cream Puff took off her hat and changed into her pajamas and climbed back to her bed, trying to get some shut eye.
Atleast until something knocks on her window. Thinking it to be a mere stray tree branch, she ignored it, until the knocking grow louder that she can't ignore it anymore if she wants to sleep. A short peek has revealed a shadow that clearly doesn't belong to a random tree, but a Cookie, flying on their wand.
"Wizard?? Oh my gosh I'm so sorry for ignoring you, but what are you doing here?! You can't just visit me at my dorm, let alone at these hours!" She whispered, but still letting the other Cookie in. Owlcorn, Cream Puff's pet owl currently perched next to the window, squawked in discomfort with its sleep being disturbed.
Wizard Cookie, currently named Popping Ice Cream Cookie, is a student at another academy in the magical city of Parfaedia. Their relationship blossomed from the day they met each other in a bookstore, and it has been going on for around 2 months at this point. Of course, being from different academies limits their chance to meet each other, but they always spare some time to atleast write a letter for a chat, delivered by her owl.
Unlike her, Wizard is the very definition of a child prodigy, and he makes very good use of that gift, by constantly skipping class, sometimes only appearing during exams and still gets a good grade out of it. He claimed that he already mastered whatever was taught in his class, which makes them incredibly boring, and he prefers learning somewhere else, like a library, or any book that has been opened in the bookstore. She doesn't doubt it because he constantly gets excited showing her his skills, and even offered to teach and be incredibly patient with her, it's the one trait of him that she loves so much.
He is so confident in his skills that he confessed to her his plans to change his name to the coveted Wizard title ahead of time. Cream Puff Cookie, being her sweet self, now calls him that instead of his current name and despite his insistence on keeping his head cold, it never failed to make him melt.
"We haven't had a date for a while, and you didn't send me any letters, so I thought I should drop by to check." Wizard slumped to sit on her bed. "You good? you look tired. It's only 7 pm."
"I'm fine." Cream Puff climbs back to her bed and just sits next to him. She doesn't reply but tries to fight her drowsiness, sure she misses her boyfriend but school has been making her busier than usual recently, she got no time for dates. Every letters they send to each other also have to be initiated by her as Wizard himself doesn't own a pet owl to send his letters to her without having to wait for her.
"Well, atleast eat something. Here, I brought some."
She got so busy she didn't realize she skipped dinner. She took a random dessert from his bag and eats them slowly. "What about you..?"
"I already ate, but fine, I'll eat now too to give you company."
Cream Puff is like that, feels bad if she eats alone, especially when it's Wizard who treats her. After inspecting the surroundings, feeling that her roommates won't be back for a while, she leans on him to leech off his warmth. Wizard doesn't mind, he rather enjoys how soft her hair is. They love sitting like this, normally under a tree, while Cream Puff reads, and Wizard have a peek on her book every once in a while.
It was really nice, they needed this. However, the peace didn't last long as Wizard took out another snack from his bag, "Hey, wanna try the choco stick challenge everyone been trying to do?"
"The what?"
"Basically we munch on this choco stick from both sides, and try leaving as little left as possible in the middle. Whoever takes their mouth off the stick first loses. I've seen my friends do this in class recently."
Not thinking much about it, and still fighting drowsiness, she nodded. Oh how she regretted her choice some seconds ago, because this is turning out to be embarassing.
Wizard nibbles on the non-coated side of the stick, inviting her to bite on the coated side. Their face have never been this up close to each other, it's just making her blush as they get closer to each other. While they both start slow, it certainly doesn't help ease her nervous heart.
At some point she must've stopped moving and just closes her eyes, waiting for their silly game to end, Wizard will soon drop the choco stick, measure the length and be done with it. Unfortunately for her, Wizard is just as nervous and takes his time, nibbling his way to the middle.
However, something must've clicked in his head because she can sense that he starts speeding towards her. Not knowing what to do, she keeps her eyes shut while her cheeks grew hotter and her heart intensifies.
Smooch~
Cream Puff immediately opens her eyes and her mouth lets go of the stick they've been biting together, her hands immediately covers her mouth in embarassment, Wizard took notice and immediately caught the snack in his hand, attempting to measure it.
"We're on a tie because we ended with a kiss! Wanna try again??" her boyfriend asked, with an innocent smile stretching across his face. Realizing what his actual plot is, Cream Puff replied to his challenge by throwing a pillow into his face. "Wizard!!"
He finally burst out laughing, while his girlfriend is still recovering from the dumb stunt he pulled on her. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry! Pfft hahahahah I'm so sorry Cream Puff, it was on impulse! I swear, my intention was to get a short stick as the result, before my brain acted the other way around. I'm sorry!" He apologized profusely, while still being beaten by her pillow.
Cream Puff doesn't exactly hate the kiss, she just doesn't like it because he did it when she wasn't ready, not to mention that was their first after 2 months of dating. Kissing through a dumb game was not what she imagined as their first. It felt like betrayal.
"Aagh..! Cream Puff, I said I'm sorry! Atleast tell me how I can make it up to you!" Wizard tries to shield himself from her fluffy attacks with his arms. She eventually stops and just sulks on her bed, looking away from him. This is not how Wizard imagined their meeting to be that night, he was just gonna give her some food and maybe sit next to her for a bit, and somehow it evolved into this mess, and he's unsure on how to fix it. He might be gifted at magic, but damn he really wish he's also gifted in resolving relationship issues at this point. Now they both just sit awkwardly on her bed.
"Cream Puff... Please don't be mad... I'll do anything to make it up to you, I swear!"
It took a while to coax her to respond, but she eventually did. Wizard never really faced an angry Cream Puff before so he's unsure of what to do.
"Anything?"
"Yes."
Without giving anything away, she scoots over to him, Wizard just mentally prepares himself for an earful of lecture.
It never comes, though. He just have his chin grabbed by her instead, and gets dragged into an even longer kiss by his girlfriend. He froze upon contact, but just lets it happen as he shuts his eyes. Now it's his turn to get embarassed as her kiss slowly makes his cheeks heat up, and probably melts some of his ice cream hair.
"Mwah... Now we're even." She said, as she lets go of his mouth and chin. Wizard just panted upon the loss of contact, trying to keep his composure, and to cool his blushing cheeks.
"We are in NO way even! You got to kiss longer!" He replied in-between his panting. Cream Puff just softly chuckled at the effects her lethal attack left on her lover. After that long day, she really do need this date after all.
