You slowed your breathing, keeping it low and soft as you slowly peeked your head from behind the tree you were hiding behind.
It had been your idea, this little game you and Alastor were currently playing. It had started when he had been regaling tales of his human life, when he had to chase some poor victim through the bayou down and catch him before he escaped. That had sparked a bit of an idea in your head. Alastor did have that pocket dimension in his room, flavored with the bayou that he had grown up in. Why not have a little game? Just the two of you?
Alastor had seemed very taken with the idea, and it took very little convincing on your part. He seemed predatorily excited as he gave you a three second head start. You barely even had to tease him into following you.
“My little Doe~”
You turned your head towards the tauntingly sweet voice pinged through radio feedback. Alastor’s form was larger, limbs longer and lankier, claws sharp and more deadly, numerous shadowy tendrils sprouting from his back. His antlers stretched far out and nearly tangled with the branches, his eyes were dials that danced between stations, and his forever present grin was showcasing the teeth you knew could rend flesh and bone so easily.
Alastor’s overlord form could make even the more stoic of demons pause, as most only witnessed it before their untimely demise and consumption (not necessarily in that order either). Fear was a natural and expected response to such a sight, but you didn’t feel fear. On the contrary, you felt a thrill course through you that stole your breath from your lungs.
Alastor’s ears twitched and his head nearly snapped completely around as he caught the low gasp from your lips. He let out a growl that nearly shook the ground, and blood began to leak from his jaw as the sight finally sparked you into movement.
You took off through the trees, tail flashing like a flag to your pursuer. You felt more than heard Alastor lurch after you, tearing after you through the trees.
You were the prey, your lover the predator. The thrill of the hunt, of being chased, tingled up your spine as you darted between the trees, giddiness at managing to stay so far ahead. You weren’t afraid, even with the fearsome overlord at your tail. You skidded and turned as he lunged, swiping at empty air with a hoarse growl that made you giggle, ducking a stray shadowy tendril that snatched after you.
If he wanted, truly, this could have been over in an instant, but it was a rare treat to have teasing prey. Despite the role you had elected for yourself, you knew you’d be more than capable to put up a good fight. Not enough to win against him, you knew that, but enough to amuse him. Every second this continued was an indulgence for his own amusement, and perhaps yours. You were gaining just as much a thrill from this as you could sense coming from him.
A tingle of shadowy magic prickled along your back and you realized your luck had finally run dry as Alastor loomed up in front of you. There was a split second of time as you tried to turn on your heel, a useless attempt to escape, before you felt Alastor’s claws snag your waist, and you were pinned squarely to the trunk of a tree. While it wasn’t with as much force as you knew he was capable of, it still knocked the wind out of you, and you felt a tightening in your chest as you registered you were trapped.
His claws pricked your skin where he had them wrapped tightly around your waist, threatening to draw blood if you so much as wriggled. His antlers bracketed your head, and you could both feel and partially see as the lowest tines curve along both sides of your neck.
Static tingled along across your skin as he growled, and you felt his breath tickle the back of your neck. Sharp deadly teeth so close to racing veins.
Your heart hammered, and perhaps now you felt an inkling of fear in the pit of your stomach from the lingering chase and prey-like instinct. Your claws curled into the bark of the tree you were pinned to, and your breathing picked up as he leaned in closer. Even as primal and dangerous as he was, you doubted he’d allow himself to lose control, especially when you were involved.
Even with his deadly claws and teeth so close to ripping your flesh open, you knew you were still safe. Alastor would never hurt you… At least, not in a way you wouldn’t enjoy.
You calmed your racing heart, and your eyes drifted closed as you slightly arched your neck, baring it for him. Barely a second passed before you felt the outline of his teeth against your shoulder, and you braced yourself for the bite. His jaw flexed before he bit down… Just enough to feel the points of his teeth prick your skin, not hard enough to even draw blood, before he pulled away.
“My dear, surely you didn’t think I’d truly hurt you?” He hummed, radio dials still as you turned to face him.
“Not at all, love.” You hummed, smiling up at him. You reached up, unafraid, and rested your palm delicately against his cheek. You felt the briefest nudge of reciprocation. “I know you’d never hurt me.” You leaned up on your tiptoes, silently coaxing him down so you could place a quick kiss on the X that marked his forehead. “Did you have fun?”
“Yes, it was quite invigorating. I’m glad you suggested it!” He grinned, craning his head back up as his overlord form melded away and left your lover’s usual self back in place.
“I’ll say.” You curled your fingers around his as he began escorting you back. “Maybe we should make it a regular thing.”
His eyes gleamed at the idea. “My doe, I think I’d enjoy that.”
“Enough to reverse our roles?” You glanced at him out of the corner of your eyes.
“Hm…” He tapped his chin with his finger as he mulled it over, before his smile turned sly. “No!”
“Ugh, rude!” You laughed.
