One Track Mind, I'll Never be Her.

Summary:

After almost a year of dating, Sae breaks up with Ryusei for reasons she never clarified. Saying this caused Ryusei to spiral was an understatement, for the first time in her life she genuinely lost control of her emotions. Feeling desperate after a breakup is new to her. Usually she bathes in the new found freedom, but this time was the opposite. She would do anything for Sae to take her back, so she decides to act out to make Sae look at her again. Unfortunately for Sae, this little plan includes her little sister Rin.

Rin never asked to be dragged into her older sister's break up, but unfortunately she was.

Chapter 1: Prologue

Chapter Text

‘I want to break up.’

That is the absolute worst words anyone could say to Ryusei. Especially when it’s said slowly, giving Ryusei the false hope that maybe, just maybe, it could be a normal sentence until the last 2 words are said. She felt like she was being forced outside the world, only being able to watch like some sort of wallflower. And she is NOT a wallflower, she refuses to be. She wants to be a star, a star of everyone’s lives, the focus of it all. Having tunnel vision is considered a dreadful thing, but when she’s at the end of that tunnel, she thrives in it.

So, what does she do when these words are uttered to her?

She cries.

She didn’t want to, if anything she wanted to be angry, not upset. It’s humiliating but she couldn’t help it. She felt like she was tossed aside like she was nothing. She yelled a bit, but her words were quickly broken down by sobs which caused her to scream in frustration and stormed off. She never thought she would walk away from a situation, why would she? Fight or flight didn’t exist to her, it was always fight— that’s how she always reacted. Why was this breakup different?

Well, that was because it was Sae Itoshi who said those words to her.

Notes:

Guess who's back!
I haven't posted on here or tiktok since before school started because unfortunately junior year is absolute hell on earth. I do want to get back to publishing regularly and posting edits regularly but we'll see how that goes! I'll try and also work on my Sanegiyuu fic while doing this one (probably a bad idea to have 2 ongoing but motivation works in mysterious ways)

Anyways, thank you so much for reading the prologue! Hope you enjoy the rest of the story!
