“Can I borrow your computer tonight?” Jotaro asks as he hands Kakyoin his nightly tea.
The drink is still steaming, and it pleasantly warms Kakyoin’s hands as he cradles the mug. “Of course, you remember the password, right?”
Nodding his head, Jotaro silently walks to their office. Smiling to himself, Kakyoin wonders what exactly Jotaro would need on his computer that he couldn’t do on his own. Not that he minded, of course, they’ve been married too long to care for small things like that.
Hell, Kakyoin is sipping the tea Jotaro prepared for him and let cool until it reached the absolute perfect temperature, truly making them the sickly perfect and boring married couple they never dreamed they could be. The thought comforts him as he flips through his anthropology book of the night, sleepiness already weighing his body down.
Until he suddenly hears a familiar little jingle playing down the hall from the office.
♪In-fin-i-ti Na-na~♪
The familiar and comforting tune has Kakyoin chuckling and immediately setting down his tea and book to go catch Jotaro in the act.
Keeping his footsteps light so Jotaro won’t know he’s approaching (except, who is he kidding? With Star Platinum as his stand, Jotaro won’t be sneaked up on by anyone), Kakyoin peeks his head through the cracked office door.
He can’t help but break into a smile, opening the door fully so he can go inside and rest his chin on the top of Jotaro’s head and watch him play.
Jotaro only acknowledges Kakyoin with a small noise, his eyes glued to the bright screen. Bringing his arms up to wrap around Jotaro, Kakyoin watches with amusement as Jotaro runs around aimlessly, tapping random buttons until he can figure out how to control the stylish Nikki Kakyoin had dressed to perfection. He even put sunglasses on some of her outfits, the casualness of which has brought Kakyoin more peace about the realities of his daily life, even if that’s certainly not why sunglasses were put into the game.
Watching Jotaro accidentally plunge from a tall cliff into deep water makes Kakyoin’s heart suddenly overflow with affection. With a gentle hum, Kakyoin places a lingering kiss to the top of Jotaro’s head. The stoic man must have taken his hat off before turning on the game, or perhaps he anticipated Kakyoin coming in here and pulling his hat off anyway so that he could kiss the cute spot where his hair parts.
God, Kakyoin loves this man so much.
“When you figure out how everything works, feel free to find my extra whimstars and dews of inspiration.”
Jotaro lets out another grunt, this one more warm. Again, Kakyoin’s known him long enough to understand what all his sounds mean and accept that words are much less likely to leave his lips when it’s late.
It’s as endearing to Kakyoin now as it was in random hotel rooms or underneath bright stars.
“Oh, but Jojo?”
Jotaro’s head perks up, turning to look at Kakyoin hovering at the office door.
“For fucks sake, please don’t spend all my blings on the scam-o-matic.”
“There’s nothing called a scam-o-matic in the game.”
Kakyoin blinks, but the hour is too late for him to wonder how exactly Jotaro knows this and how long he’s been playing on Kakyoin’s account.
An exasperated laugh escapes him as he turns to leave, “you know exactly what I’m talking about.”
Smiling softly, Jotaro quickly gets to work scouring the entire map for errant dews and forgotten whimstars.
Surely Kakyoin won’t notice if he does just one ten pull at the Surprise-O-Matic, though.
