Keiper onshots

Chapter Text

Keith walked around the Whiterun tundra, there wasn't much but at night it was very peaceful. He saw a guard or what looked like a guard leaning on a rock and decided to check it out and maybe get some septums out of it. As Keith got closer he saw the wooden sword and the way the guard's hand was positioned looking like it was covering a wound; Jesper was the only guard to currently have a wooden sword, replacing the usual steel. Keith ran over, his fear confirmed, as he took off the helmet and saw the face of the guard who he had started to fall for and the wound that probably should have killed Jesper already.

Keith looked through the potions his sister had insisted he kept on him, looking for a potion of healing. He only found a potion of minor healing. It would have to do. He shoved the potion into Jesper’s mouth, watching the wound slightly heal. It would have to do ‘til he could get him to the temple of Kyrenth. Keith picked up Jesper and his helmet, putting his hand hard against the wound, doing his best to stop the blood. He heard him groan and had the thought that at least he was conscious enough to feel pain.

Keith snuck into Whiterun, trying and failing to not hurt Jesper more as he got him in and to the temple. His hands and armor were covered in Jespers blood as he hauled ass into the temple, quick as he could. He was barely able to get out words to the priests as he put him down, telling them that he was pretty sure Jesper had been ambushed by bandits.

The priests were suspicious of him but he told them he would refuse to leave, even if they called guards. After a brief discussion, they didn't call guards and decided to let him stay. Keith watched. Jesper wasn't conscious. Keith was almost sure he would actually die as the healers did their work. He sat awake ‘til mid morning worrying and watching Jesper, but he had fallen asleep.

By the time he woke up, the sun had set and Jesper was sitting up. Keith walked over.

“How do you feel?” he asked, concerned.

“They told me you brought me in…”

“That's not what I asked you Jesper.”

Jesper smiled. “I'm in a lot of pain, I don't exactly remember what happened.”

Keith sat down next to him. “That's ok… Why were you even out there, anyway?”

Jesper looked off the side. “The commander thought it would be good to take a walk around the city…”

Keith suddenly felt enraged. “You have a wooden sword, are you kidding me?! How did he think that would be a good idea?!” Keith whisper yelled.

“I don't think he cared.”

Keith was tempted to send a letter to his sister but he also knew Jesper would highly oppose that. “Please never do that again, just go back to your place.” He hated how much emotion he was showing.

Jesper looked back at him and started smiling. “Alright yeah I uh– I will.”

Keith watched him, he wanted to hug him to make sure that he was alive and that he wasn't just dreaming while napping. He wanted to kiss Jesper and to curl up against him but he restrained himself and sat hands in his lap and looked down at them trying not to cry. Jesper put his hand on Keiths shoulder and gave him an awkward side hug grimacing while doing so.

“Thank you.”

“Yeah no problem. You would have done the same.”
