Chapter Text
“Well, you’ve really outdone yourself this time,” drawled Yoojin.
“It was nothing, Partner-ssi,” Sung Hyunjae smiled. “Despite his ability in combat, Choi Sukwon is rather lacking in…his thought process.” The prissy bastard could find a million definitions for the word “idiot” before having to say it.
Together the two of them watched the B-tier action film play out in front of them.
A soundtrack of explosions and yells accompanied the battlefield that purged the headquarters’ front lawn. Bombastic attacks were slugged left and right as the special effects.
Yoojin winced as a loud crash rang above them. He looked up to find that a laughing maniac had skydived off the 10th floor. Looks like Riette Luire visited today.
“Atleast he isn’t stupid enough to offer his HQ as a backdrop for this mess.” He scoffed as Riette landed and carved a crater into the concrete. She hit the ground running into the center of the fight.
Sung Hyunjae sighed regretfully as if he hadn’t expected this to happen. “I apologize Yoojin-ah, but I’m afraid this was a necessary evil. This was the best way to permanently put Choi Sukwon out of commission.”
Yoojin pinched his temple.
“I don’t give a damn about your grudge with the bastard. What I give a damn is how this little spat is going to ruin the main complex–”
Riette ran up to an unsuspecting bow wielder who was attempting to snipe a distracted Kang Soyoung.
“--for the 2nd time–”
And decked him straight into the 2nd floor. Glass shards rained down upon the complex like water droplets.
“--this year.”
Sung Hyunjae put on an ashamed face, but the pleased gleam in eyes said otherwise.
Yoojin groaned. When he signed that contract with Sung Hyunjae he hadn’t intended for him and his team to become Seseong’s resident custodians.
“Whatever,” he turned to enter the building’s lobby, “I’m going in to gather the others.”
The main entrance was just as wrecked as the outside. Dread filled him at the thought of repairing the building once again.
“This better be wrapped up by the time I’m back. Unless you’ve already lost your touch.”
A sharp scent of ozone pierced through the air, soon followed by a familiar electric sensation. Goosebumps ran waves through his body.
A golden glow enveloped Hyunjae’s eyes while grey clouds poured over the scene. “I assure you, Yoojin…”
Thunder roared above them. Flashy bastard.
“…I won’t dare disappoint.”

Showdown at Seseong!
As of March 4th 20XX, a platoon of MKC guild members stormed the Seseong headquarters, led by their guild leader, Choi Sukwon.
It’s no secret that Sung Hyunjae and Choi Sukown share resentment towards each other. Ever since their confrontation at Sung Hyunjae’s most recent birthday banquet, there has been enmity between the two guild leaders. Even employees of the opposing unions have been seen quarreling over what took place during the infamous banquet at dungeons.
This long-running grudge finally reached its climax last week, and resulted in a near hour long turf war. Luckily, the fight had wrapped up quickly without deaths, but there were still many casualties. Not to mention how the Seseong headquarters has taken quite the heavy toll.
The building has had a notoriously unlucky history, but this attack just might be its doer. According to damage reports, the foundation of the building has been cracked to dangerous degrees, and nearly every floor has been severely damaged by the MKC guild.
At the moment, Choi Sukwon has been detained, and C.O.O. Pan Seung has taken the reins. Despite their organized efforts to save themselves, many doubt that they will be able to save themselves. This disastrous event is a huge dent in MKC’s reputation and will follow their name for the rest of their corporate lifespan.
On top of that, the hunter association has opened an investigation, led by the renowned detective Yin Xiaosi and the people’s S-rank, Song Taewon.
As for how Sung Hyunjae has been doing, he’s been busy with the aftermath of the fight. Although there have been no interviews with him personally, his proxy–Hunter Evelyn Miller– has spoken out on recent events: “Recovery has been as smooth as it can be. This attack was a shock for all of us, so there have been some difficulties while recovering. Despite this, our damage control team has been hard at work to save the complex.”
Korea’s number one guild’s endeavor to bounce back has earned the public’s admiration. Even other S-ranks sympathize with their plight. Hunter Moon Hyuna comments, “It’s surprising how long that relic of the building has lasted. It’d be a shame for it to topple over just because of a fight like this.”
Whether or not this event will impact the hunter industry positively or negativity, we’re not sure. But either way, the dynamics of the playing field will be changed forever.
