Choosing to leave priesthood wasn’t easy for Jeongin. Having to abandon the life project he had planned was not as simple as he thought, many tears were shed and there were times when he even doubted his choices. Was it right to abandon everything at once? Jeongin didn't know.
Jeongin was sure of his feelings for the omega, but a small part of him still questioned whether what he was doing was right, whether abandoning everything at any moment was wise.
Then the news came, Seungmin was pregnant. And maybe that was the sign Jeongin had asked God to send him. The reason that made him choose once and for all the path to take. That news was like a rainbow at the end of a long rainy day, like the sudden end of a storm. Like magic, or maybe like a miracle, Jeongin knew what he had to do. He was sure that from that moment on he would never take a step back. The strong bond with Seungmin was strengthened, what he thought was just an animalistic desire based on a strong passion was rediscovered to be a pure feeling of love. And their bond would soon come to life in the form of a puppy.
After receiving the news, Jeongin got to work and researched his next step. It was difficult and he fought a lot for his will to be fulfilled, but he managed to receive the consent of the ordinary bishop to be able to abandon his ecclesiastical position.
-
Nine months later, Jeongin and Seungmin were officially together and ready to welcome their daughter. Jeongin still remembered the emotion of knowing that their fruit of love would take the form of a small female version of the two.
Of course, the journey wasn't easy. It was difficult for the alpha to manage the anxiety of becoming a father and having to face his parents. Luckily, Seungmin was always there for him. “It's a new experience for both of us but, despite the difficulties, we will face everything together. We're a duo now.” He had told him months earlier, shortly after deciding to move in together. Jeongin was sure that without the omega's support and patience he would be lost.
As for his parents, Jeongin didn't think he'd ever been this nervous. He knew how seriously they could take religion and how strict they could be towards the alpha, but he was sure that, despite everything, he would always choose Seungmin and the life they were slowly building together.
Only once the most critical phase of the pregnancy had passed, did Jeongin decide to face his parents. Mainly to not stress his partner.
6 months earlier
Jeongin sits at the edge of the bed, his hands trembling as they rest on his knees. The dim light of the bedside lamp cast shadows over his face, highlighting the deep furrow in his brow. Behind him, Seungmin lies curled up, his hand resting protectively over his stomach. He is starting to show, but Jeongin can already sense the change in him — the warmth of his scent is different, sweeter, fuller. “You're nervous,” Seungmin murmurs sleepily, shifting slightly.
Jeongin exhales sharply through his nose, a wry smile twitching at his lips. “Of course, I am. I’m about to tell my parents that their son, who was supposed to serve God with devotion, has broken every vow he ever made.”
Seungmin sighs, sitting up and placing a hand on Jeongin’s back. “You fell in love. You’re human, Jeongin. The priesthood was something you chose, but this... we didn’t choose this. The bond, the baby... they were meant to happen.” Jeongin turns to look at him, his chest tightening at the sight of Seungmin’s gentle gaze. Seungmin has always been his greatest temptation, the one thing he couldn’t resist. From the moment their paths crossed in the quiet solace of the church.
“I just... I don’t want them to hate me.” His voice is barely above a whisper, laced with uncertainty.
Seungmin laces their fingers together and squeezes. “They’re your parents. They love you. They might be shocked, disappointed even, but they’ll come around.” Jeongin isn’t so sure. His parents had been so proud when he chose the priesthood, they had boasted to anyone who would listen about their son, the devoted alpha. What would they say now, knowing he had abandoned everything for an omega? He hopes they can understand that Seungmin isn’t just anyone, he is the love of his life.
The following day the two meet up at Jeongin's parents' house. The sudden visit catches the mother off guard, but the woman doesn't pay much attention to it. Her attention is particularly focused on the half-hidden omega behind Jeongin. The alpha knows that his smell gives his sub-gender away, but he hopes with all his heart that his mother does not intercept its particular sweetness. The one that is usual for pregnant omegas.
Once they're seated and settled in, when his mother leaves briefly, Jeongin finds himself with his heart in his mouth. His heart pounds in his chest so loud he is sure Seungmin feels it too, since he tightens his grip on Jeongin's hand. “I'll be right here,” Seungmin reassures him. “You're not alone in this.”
When they are joined by Jeongin's mothers, Jeongin takes a deep breath. When the silence goes on for too long and one of his mothers calls his name, the alpha realizes how much he missed the sound of her voice. The voice is warm and familiar, but the moment feels heavier than any other time he had spoken to her. His throat tightens. “Eomma, mama... there's something I need to tell you.” Jeongin swallows. “I -” He glances at Seungmin, at the life they are creating together, and find his resolve. “I left the priesthood.”
The only thing that follows is silence, so Jeongin continues. He braces himself. “I'm sorry if I disappointed you, I know how much you care about religion. But I've found love – the love of my life, and I can't give it up.” Jeongin closes his eyes, gripping Seungmin's hand tighter.
“The priesthood was my choice, as was abandoning it. With Seungmin everything is different, I know that we are destined to be together. I can feel it in the blood that runs through my veins, the wolf inside me suffers if I'm not with him and prays every moment to be able to make him mine. To claim it.” A moment of silence later, the alpha continues. “I'm – We are going to be fathers. We'll keep it whether you like it or not. Seungmin is the right - the only - man for me and whatever your decision, whether to accept him in my life or not, I will always choose him.”
Then, his mother sighed. “Oh, my sweet boy…” Soon they both stand up and both hug the young men. Jeongin, who hadn't been able to look either of them in the eye, feels the joint scent of the two women envelop him.
Jeongin and his family, including Seungmin, had a lot to talk about that day. But once they got home, Jeongin could say he breathed deeply for the first time in months. A great weight had been lifted from his chest. From that moment on, his omega could consider himself part of his family.
-
It was spring when Seungmin's water broke. A quiet April morning was suddenly interrupted by the sudden event. Both Jeongin and Seungmin were aware that it would happen in those days, but despite this, both soon-to-be parents found themselves in a panic. Jeongin could, not so proudly, say he was the one who panicked the most as if he was the one that was about to push a baby outside his body.
Once at the hospital, Seungmin's entire body trembled as another wave of pain wracked through him. His fingers clutched desperately at Jeongin’s hand, nails digging into his skin, but Jeongin barely noticed the pain. His entire focus was on Seungmin — his pale face, the sweat clinging to his brow, the tears pricking at the corners of his eyes. Outside, the scent of spring filled the air, fresh blossoms blooming on the trees just beyond the open window. A soft breeze carried the chirping of birds, a stark contrast to the intensity within the room.
“You're doing so well, love,” Jeongin whispered, his voice thick with emotion. He leaned forward, pressing a kiss to Seungmin’s damp forehead. “Just a little more, okay? She's almost here.”
Seungmin let out a ragged breath, his lips trembling. “I c-can’t...” But the alpha’s voice immediately became more confident, his scent so enveloping and confident that it made the omega dizzy. “You can,” Jeongin said firmly, his own heart racing. He had never felt more helpless in his life, watching his mate struggle, knowing there was nothing he could do to take away the pain. “You're the strongest person I know. Just a little longer.” The omega let out a strangled sob as another contraction hit, his entire body arching off the bed with the force of it. The midwife, stationed between his legs, nodded encouragingly.
“I'm right here,” Jeongin whispered, pressing his forehead against Seungmin’s. “I'm right here, Min.” Seungmin whimpered, gripping Jeongin’s hand like a lifeline. “Jeongin—” And then silence, as Seungmin pushed one more time.
What broke the silence was a cry. A tiny, sharp wail filled the room, piercing through the heavy air like the first rays of morning light. Seungmin gasped, his body sagging against the pillows as tears streamed down his face. Jeongin let out a choked breath, his own eyes burning as he watched the midwife lift a tiny, wriggling baby into the air. Their daughter. Jeongin kissed Seungmin’s forehead again and again. “You did it, Minnie.”
The midwife quickly wiped the baby down before gently placing her against Seungmin’s chest. The moment her tiny body met Seungmin’s skin, she calmed, her cries turning into soft whimpers as she nestled against her omega parent. The room filled with the smell of Seungmin, no longer in pain. Now his pheromones were calming, his smell was back to lavender and honey. The same one Jeongin had first smelled many months ago.
Seungmin let out a broken laugh, his fingers shakily brushing over the baby's delicate face. “She's… she's so small.” Jeongin hovered over them, his heart hammering as he reached out a trembling hand to stroke their daughter's tiny fingers. She gripped his finger instinctively, her hand barely big enough to wrap around it. Seungmin let out a soft, exhausted laugh, his gaze full of love and wonder as he stared down at their daughter. “She looks like you.”
Jeongin shook his head, pressing another gentle kiss to Seungmin’s forehead. “She has your nose. And your stubbornness. I can tell already.” The omega let out a watery chuckle, resting his head against Jeongin’s shoulder. Their baby let out a tiny yawn, her little mouth opening wide before she snuggled closer to Seungmin’s warmth.
Jeongin wrapped an arm around them both, holding them close as he whispered, “Thank you, Seungmin. For giving me this. For giving me her.” Seungmin closed his eyes, exhaustion washing over him, but not before he whispered back, “Thank you for staying. For loving me.” Jeongin tightened his hold, pressing another soft kiss to the top of Seungmin’s head, as their daughter, Yeji, rested peacefully between them — their little miracle, born of love.
-
Jeongin and his omega also had some deep conversations in the months they spent awaiting the birth of their daughter, considering marriage several times. Both were of the opinion that they would like to spend the rest of their lives together, but neither had ever taken a step forward in that direction.
At least that was what Jeongin made Seungmin believe. During the pregnancy, in fact, the alpha insisted a lot on documenting every small significant moment of their daily life. What Seungmin didn't know was that on every occasion Jeongin left him little messages, which the omega was unaware of.
Months after giving birth, when Seungmin's birthday arrived, the young couple decided to celebrate in the privacy of their home. It would be his first birthday as a father and Seungmin wanted nothing more than to celebrate with his new family, Jeongin and a five-months-old Yeji, the only two guests. Jeongin decided to give him a simple video to watch as a gift, nothing that particularly alerts the omega knowing how much he, like himself, preferred to show his affection through gestures.
The video began with Seungmin laying in their bed with a newly prominent belly. It must have been in the first months of pregnancy. Seungmin was too engrossed in the book he was reading to realize that Jeongin was holding a camera and silently recording. Then it showed Jeongin taking his phone out and focusing on it to show the words “Will you marry me?”
Seungmin gasped.
That one moment was soon followed by similar ones. Seungmin on the beach, still in the early months of pregnancy, too busy eating his ice cream to notice the alpha; Seungmin blowing out his candles, exactly one year earlier on his birthday, too busy receiving hugs and gifts from his friends as Jeongin proposed once again. As a last memory, Seungmin was unwrapping his presents on Christmas morning in the quiet of their home. Jeongin once again asked to marry him.
Each moment was characterized by the silent proposal.
When Seungmin turned to Jeongin, he was there with their daughter in his arms. He was kneeling and had a simple ring in his right hand. Simple as their love, which came to the two of them like breathing. The alpha didn't believe Seungmin had ever looked so handsome with red cheeks, tears adorning his face and a smile so wide and bright it could blind him.
Seungmin kneeled down and kissed Jeongin, then their little girl, who lay sleeping in her father's arms unaware of what was happening around her. Unaware of having witnessed the crowning of love of his parents.
“I take that as a yes.” Jeongin said laughing. Seungmin could only snort and nod as he kissed again the alpha.

The crisp November air was gentle, cool but not biting, wrapping around the small gathering like a quiet blessing. The sky, a canvas of soft grays and muted blues, stretched above them, the autumn leaves rustling as they clung stubbornly to their branches. The scent of earth and fallen leaves filled the air, mingling with the faint sweetness of distant bonfires. It was an ordinary day, but to Jeongin and Seungmin was the day they would become officially forever partners, mates. A simple ceremony awaited them — just close friends and family, no extravagant decorations or grand displays. Just love, just them.
Jeongin stood at the altar, his hands clasped in front of him, heart pounding so hard it was almost deafening. His dark eyes never left Seungmin as he walked toward him, each step slow, deliberate, as though time had slowed just for them. The golden hues of autumn cast a warm glow over Seungmin’s face, his features soft with emotion.
Jeongin sucked in a shaky breath. Seungmin was stunning — wrapped in an off-white suit that fit him perfectly, his light brown hair tousled just enough to look effortless. But it wasn’t his appearance that made Jeongin’s chest tighten — it was the way Seungmin looked at him, like Jeongin was his entire world. Like nothing else mattered
Seungmin’s steps were steady, but Jeongin could see the way his lips trembled just slightly, like he was holding back a smile so wide it would split his face in two. In front of him was their daughter, Yeji. She was barely over three years old, in her tiny hands she carried a small cushion, where the alpha and omega’s wedding rings rested. They were a small symbol of their bond, the embodiment of their eternal love. Yeji’s round doe eyes took in the scenery in front of her as she walked right to her father.
They had waited a long time to get married on purpose, but the anxiety and trepidation had never gone away. Just as their love, in fact it had only grown over time along with Yeji. Waiting three years to get married and having their daughter attend was perhaps one of the best choices, if Jeongin thought about it carefully.
When Seungmin finally reached him, he let out a breathy chuckle. Jeongin grinned, reaching out to gently squeeze Seungmin’s hands. Jeongin’s thumbs traced circles against the omega’s palms, grounding him. This moment — this quiet, intimate moment — was everything he had ever dreamed of. He had never thought he would get married. But since the omega came into his life, all he had ever wanted was Seungmin, and now he was about to call him his husband.
The ceremony was short, simple, perfect. Their vows weren’t rehearsed, just spoken from the heart.
Jeongin took a deep breath, eyes locked on Seungmin’s. His voice wavered, thick with emotion, but his words never faltered. “Seungmin, before you, I knew what it meant loving someone this way. I never knew that love could feel like home, like the safest place in the world, no matter where we are. You have always been the love I never saw coming, but the one I’m choosing to keep and cherish. You have given me more than I ever dreamed of — your heart, your trust, our beautiful daughter. I vow to cherish you for all that you are, for every smile, every stubborn argument, every sleepy morning. I vow to love you even on the days when the world feels heavy, when the weight of life presses against us. I will be your anchor, your safe place, your forever.”
Seungmin’s lips trembled, his eyes shining with unshed tears as he whispered. “You are my home, my light, the person I want beside me for every sunrise and every quiet night. With you, I have learned what it means to be truly loved, without conditions, without fear. You are my greatest adventure, my kindest and safest embrace. I vow to stand beside you, not just in the easy days but in the ones that test us too. I vow to love you in every way that I can, with every piece of my heart, for as long as this world lets me. And even after that, I will still find you. In every lifetime, in every version of this world, I will love you.”
A few sniffles sounded from their guests, but Jeongin barely heard them. His world had narrowed to Seungmin, the love shining in his eyes, the warmth of his hands in Jeongin’s own.
By the time the officiant finally announced them as a married couple, Jeongin didn’t hesitate. He cupped the omega’s face and kissed him, slowly and deeply, pouring every ounce of love he had into it. Seungmin melted against him, his hands curling into the lapels of Jeongin’s suit, like he never wanted to let go.
Cheers erupted around them, but all Jeongin could hear was the sound of Seungmin’s breath against his lips, the quiet hum of happiness between them. Yeji let out a delighted giggle, clapping her tiny hands together. Seungmin pulled back, laughing, pressing his forehead against Jeongin’s and taking in their mixed scents.
As they stood there, wrapped in the golden hues of late autumn, surrounded by the people who loved them most, Jeongin knew — this was it. This was forever. And he had never been more grateful.
