Where is Okarun?

That's a question Momo has been asking her-self over and over again.

Shes been worried sick since he disappeared last Thursday, starting when he didn't show up for school that day 'That's fine, he might just not be feeling well or something' Then the next day too 'He must be feeling really bad' And the next.  Then after a week of missing school I decided to find him my-self, quickly realizing that i don't know where he lives.

'... I should have asked him earlier where he lives' Then another week goes by, nothing.

After two weeks of nothing we start looking, first by the school, nothing.

Then by my house, again nothing.

Even the shady part of town and a bit of the forest.

Still nothing. Everyone's worried and helping us search after school and during weekends.

After yet another unsuccessful search, we decide to head back to relax while dinner is being made.

With all of us relaxing in my room 

And Jiji being the idiot he is has been coming up with theories on What happened to Okarun.

"Maybe hes been kidnapped"

Yet another unlikely guess, Okarun's strong he wouldn't go down without a fight or at least without giving them a major injury

"Or maybe he's been taken by aliens"

'It's the same as the last couple of times, He wouldn't go down without a fight,... But.. The serpos used 'the awesome zone' once, they might've used it again

"Could be that some yokai got him"

'sigh' I don't have the mental fortitude for this right now 

'Jiji, your my friend but can you please shut up, Okarun's missing it's been a long day and I don't have the energy to deal with you right now."

"Aw, Momo that's so rude, i'm hurt"

Jiji says, while striking one of his signature poses

"..."

"But I'll be quiet for now"

"Thank you"

Silence

"Momo"

Aira says, sounding a bit annoyed 

"What."

"That was a bit rude, apologize at once."

' Man I wish I had some tape on me ' 

"Why should I? We're all worried about Okarun and what happened to him, I know you are too, you can't hide it. And Jiji's making everything worse with his theories."

" While that may be true, that is no excuse to be rude, So relax. That's an order."

"... Just leave me alone"

With the biggest Sigh that has ever come from Aira's mouth she leaves with Jiji trailing behind her, getting ready to go and continue the search after dinner.

  Leaving me alone, staring out the window, alone with my thoughts

'...'

It felt too quiet since Okarun went missing.

'Normally Okarun would be talking with me, or we would be bickering about something simple' 

"Man, I wanna talk to Okarun! But no, you just love to torture me like this don't you universe!"

Distantly hearing everyone downstairs helping preparing dinner, with a distant yell coming from the old hag a moment later.

"Momo! Come down for dinner!"

As I leave for the door, I pause to stare through the open window of my room

Silence

'Sigh'

A quick mutter with an undertone of hopefulness and sadness before leaving the solace of my room, filled with posters of Ken Takakura the actor, and other colorful things

"Where are you Okarun?"

Ken woke up with a start.

Feeling dizzy and not knowing where you were was not a good mix

After a few minutes of waiting out the dizziness he finally looked around the room

The room wasn't his

It was more like a cell then a room

Dark, cold and wet

Stone and a grey door with a blurred window, along with a futon in the corner

Where was he?

The only question racing through his now panicked mind

Standing as quick as he could, he found his body feeling a bit like jelly, pudding

And a sharp pain as soon as he stood up

Forcibly sitting back down again to stop the pain

Dissipating into a more tingly sensation

he checked him-self to see what happened

A black collar of some kind a bit loose around his neck

A white T-shirt and black soft pants, with soft socks

Where was he?

Who changed his clothes?

Where were his friends?

Were they ok?

Where is Miss Ayase?

Was she ok?

And Jiji?

How about him, was he ok?

How did he get here?

Who brought him here?

What were they going to do him?

Were they going to kill him?

Was he going to die?

He didn't want to die!

Not alone, not here!

As he was falling deeper into the spiral of panicked thoughts, he failed to notice the dark figure approaching through the window

Until he heard it creak

His head snapping to the door, now fully aware of the thing next to him

Listening for every little noise, watching every little movement

Was it going to attack?

Or was it a neutral party.

"I see you're finally awake, number 044"

Snapping out of his thoughts at the sentence momentarily

Number 044? His name was Takakura Ken, or Okarun if it was his friends

But Not 044

As his eyes adjusted to the bright light coming from the door he came to notice that the dark figure looked a bit like a four armed person

'Huh? Four arms?'

"Helloo? Are you awake or not?"

Realizing that he was still staring at it

trying to get closer to him to see if he was awake, he instinctively flinched away

"Oh, you are awake. Good"

The last part of the thing's voice sounded... A bit sadistic

"Who are you?"

His voice coming out a little shakier then he'd like

"I'm the doctor, but you can call me Sirus"

Their voice coming out with a hint of malice

"Why am I here?"

Grateful that my voice came out more confident this time

"Aren't you a curious one, Ha!"

The laugh (or what he assumed was a laugh) of... it, sounded like a mix between a cat's hiss and a dog growling

"Well If you must know, you have been selected by me to become my new test subject! Sadly my old one died from the doses but that will be a talk for later"

A sinking feeling erupting in his stomach almost immediately

"Wh...why? Why me?"

My voice is coming out more and more shaky by the minute

Already regretting what he said, as if it wasn't him it would be someone else like Jiji or, worse Miss Ayase.

It could maybe even be a kid! That would be horrible, he wouldn't want a kid to get kidnapped, even less tested and used as a guinea pig, he would never want that!

That would be a horrible thing to go through

"Because you, 044, have high spiritual energy, and a quite high pain tolerance, with a strong healing factor, meaning that you heal surprisingly quick, which works perfectly for the doses, tests, and whatever else I decide to put you through"

The thing sounding almost cheerful as it said that

"Sadly my tests can't start now as you're not at full energy, which I really need for my tests. So I shall leave you be for now, and return in a few hours when you're fully charged."

Ken must've looked so pitiful and scarred

"So do whatever you humans do to recharge, and prepare yourself physically and mentally for my tests tomorrow"

The thing said while turning to leave the room

Then paused

"You're only alive because I demand it 044, never forget that"

"And don't even try to escape, I've been watching you for a while, every movement, every interest and every person you've interacted with, even that little miss Ayase you hold so dear "

Finally turning around to leave, leaving ken more terrified then ever

Saying in a sickly sweet voice

"Sweet Dreams 044."

'SLAM'

The action making him flinch

Worried out of his mind for miss Ayase

Triggering some kind or fear in ken

A kind of fear he only feels when miss Ayase is in danger

But for now

He was scarred, alone, and on the verge of pissing his pants

Chapter Text

'SLAP'

That's all Momo heard before a world of pain

"GET UP BITCH! The hag won't let me eat until you're there too"

Even through the pain her head was in, she could still recognize Turbo-granny's scratchy voice

After a minute, all that was left of the pain was a pins and needles sensation

With finally enough strength, Momo got up to face the porcelain cat

"WHAT THE HELL TURBO-GRANNY?!!"

"IT'S YOUR FAULT FOR TAKING SO LONG TO WAKE UP"

Turbo-granny leaping off the bed and going to the door

"Get going, i'm hungry"

Leaving, while muttering under her breath

"Damn disrespectful brat"

Momo paused for a moment before turning to open her curtains

A beautiful day

Sun shining with blue sky

'Beautiful day to continue the search'

"Momo! come down!"

"Coming!"

Heading down for breakfast, still angry with Turbo-granny

Sitting down to eat what she now realized was white rice, miso soup, and grilled fish

"Hey brat"

"What is it Turbo-granny?"

At this point Momo was just annoyed with her

"Have you tried to find the other brat with your aura sense thing yet?"

"Of course I've... Wait, have I? I can't remember."

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU DON'T REMEMBER?!!"

"I mean I can't remember!"

"WELL DURING THE SEARCH LATER USE IT!"

"OK!! Now shut up!!"

"Both of you! Shut it! I don't want a fight breaking out in the morning"

The sound of the old hag's voice breaking them apart immediately

Ending with the three of them eating quick and silently

THREE HOURS LATER

With them finished breakfast they decided to relax first

Then start searching

"Get on with it brat!"

"Then stop distracting me!"

"Turbo-granny quiet! Momo, go ahead"

With Momo turning on her sixth sense, her vision was flooded with different color flames

Emerald green flames, melon yellow flames, royal blue flames

None of which she was looking for

A Cyan flame

She spotted it

The aura

Faint

Small

From the corner of her vision

in the direction of Nagi hospital

Though

Why was his aura faint?

It should be burning bright and big

But it was barely visible

Why?

'tch'

There's no time for questions

"Hey! I found him!"

As soon a she said that Turbo-granny bombarded her with too many question

After one too many questions, Seiko decided that she'd had enough

"Turbo-granny get off Momo"

Turbo-granny got off Momo 

"And you Momo, relax for now, we can't go after him just yet"

"What? Why?!"

*Sigh* "Because we don't know what we're dealing with, It could be something big and powerful"

"But-

"No buts, you will go WITH your friends tomorrow to check it out and make sure it's not dangerous, Understood?"

"But Okarun could be in danger! He-

With nothing but a glare, Momo shut up

"Understood"

"good, now, lets go home, it's starting to get late"

"I'll call my friends to tell them to come tomorrow"

With a nod they all started walking home

With a plan to rescue Okarun tomorrow, all that was left was to call Jiji and Aira

But for now all Momo could do was walk home

'We're coming for you Okarun, just stay safe!"

With that they arrived at home

Momo called Jiji and Aira

Had dinner

And were getting ready to head to bed

Momo staring out her window

'Stay safe Okarun, We're coming for you'
