Anakin grunted and gritted his teeth, grimacing as he was dragged by the ear through the halls. Obi-Wan had a firm grip on him, and he wasn’t sacrificing his speed either. He was quite frankly, in the words of Anakin, pissed off.
“Oww…oww!” Anakin complained as he was tugged right down the hallway towards the bathroom. “I’m certain you have a lot more ‘oww’s to be said in the future.” Obi-Wan said bluntly.
Anakin groaned at both the pain in his ear and his master’s words. He couldn’t say he didn’t know what he was doing, because he did.
Even a youngling could confirm that having the audacity to sneak out to a fun, friendly function while already being grounded and explicitly told ‘no’ was a recipe for trouble. Not only that, once he was promptly caught, he had ignored his master’s direct orders to tell his friends goodbye and come with him.
Then, Anakin added the icing on the cake by cursing at his master while refusing. This is what ultimately was Obi-Wan’s last straw, as well as why he was now being dragged to the bathroom. He knew what was in store for him, and none of it was going to be pleasant.
Obi-Wan walked into the bathroom with Anakin, the lights automatically turning on as he let go of the boy’s ear. He felt that Anakin had gotten too big for his britches, so he’d take care of that now. Suddenly, Anakin felt his master scoop him up from under his arms and sit him up on the counter.
The 13 year old blushed, feeling as if he were all of 6 years old again. “No! Don’t do it, Master!” Anakin shouted, shaking his head in protest. He watched in horror as Obi-Wan ignored him and unwrapped a brand new bar of soap before immediately lathering it under the running water.
Anakin gulped, tensing up as his eyes watched the green bar of soap build up a thick, sudsy lather. Once it was properly prepared for Anakin’s mouth, Obi-Wan held it to the boy’s lips. “Open, Anakin. Now.” He ordered calmly.
Anakin shook his head, his mouth firmly pressed closed in a frown. “I won’t say it again, my disobedient padawan.” Obi-Wan said, unwavering.
Anakin sighed, knowing this was a losing battle. He opened his mouth, finally giving in to the inevitable.
Then, as expected, the soapy bar was pushed into his mouth and scrubbed all throughout his mouth. Obi-Wan was nothing if not thorough; making sure to get his tongue, the insides of his cheeks, and every corner of his mouth with the soap.
Anakin gagged, clenching his eyes shut. Why did something that smelled so lovely taste so disgusting?! Obi-Wan then left the bar in his padawan’s mouth, wiping his hands with a towel and crossing his arms over his chest as his unamused eyes watched the boy.
“Bite down and do not spit it out until you are told.” Obi-Wan said. He could hear quite a few choice words via Anakin’s thoughts.
“Remember that this is the consequence of words you decided to say, padawan.” He reminded his lamenting young Anakin.
After 5 minutes, Obi-Wan had mercy on the boy and let him spit the soap out. “Rinse.” He told the boy. Anakin hopped down from the counter and immediately ran the faucet.
Obi-Wan patiently waited for the boy to finish frantically gargling and rinsing the nasty taste out of his mouth before lifting an eyebrow, fixing him with a pointed look.
“It would be in your best interest to mind your language, young man. Use this as a fair reminder and warning for the future.” Obi-Wan told his padawan.
“Yes, master. I’m sorry.” Anakin said, sheepishly looking down at his feet. Obi-Wan’s gaze softened momentarily before nodding. “Very well. Come, we have other matters to tend to.” He said, placing a hand on Anakin’s back and leading him out of the bathroom and towards his room.
Anakin felt like he was being led to his death, and he honestly wished an emergency of some kind would happen to cause any sort of commotion to delay his upcoming punishment. However, luck didn’t seem to be on his side, as he was now looking at his master sitting on his bed and motioning him towards him with a singular finger.
“Come here, Anakin.” Obi-Wan ordered. Anakin exhaled silently and walked over, his arms stiffly to his sides. “Master, I-“ His words were cut off as Obi-Wan lifted a silencing hand.
“You will have plenty of time to explain yourself, Anakin. As for right now, I would like you to tell me what my orders were.” Obi-Wan said, calm as ever yet firm. Anakin’s shoulders slumped angstily. “To stay in my room and work on my reflection essay, and to meditate when that was finished until you come to get me.” Anakin said.
Obi-Wan nodded. “Correct. So, imagine my surprise when I come in to find an empty room, as well as a note that has an address on it, leading right to the exact place I told you that you were, in fact, not allowed to go to, due to being grounded for a previous situation you had found yourself in.” He said.
Anakin couldn’t look up at his master even if he wanted to. His eyes found the floor to be quite interesting, apparently. This didn’t fly, however, as Obi-Wan gently lifted the boy’s chin and made them maintain eye contact.
“Sneaking out, blatantly disobeying me, and disrespecting me is not acceptable, Anakin. You know that, yes?” He asked, his voice soft yet stern all the same. Anakin nodded, looking as if he had seen a ghost. He knew what was about to happen, and he wasn’t looking forward to it. That made two of them.
Obi-Wan didn’t like disciplining his padawan, but as his master, he’d do what was necessary. He never went overboard and made sure Anakin knew he was safe, even if his bottom was being warmed over his knee.
“Yes, master.” Anakin said softly. Obi-Wan removed the boy’s lightsaber, carefully setting it aside before gently turning the boy over his knee. Anakin looked down at the ground, gritting his teeth and holding onto Obi-Wan’s leg for support.
He was mentally kicking himself for even being bold enough to go through with his actions that day. Had he taken five seconds to actually think about what he was doing, he probably wouldn’t have been over Obi-Wan’s knee at that moment.
Obi-Wan flipped up Anakin’s robe and made quick work of tugging his pants and underwear down, baring his bottom. He rested one hand on Anakin’s back to both keep him still and provide a sense of comfort. “Anakin, I’m very disappointed in you.” He said, lifting his palm and landing it with a sharp swat across his behind.
Anakin winced, grunting when he felt Obi-Wan’s smack. Hearing those words, however, is what hurt most of all. He wanted his master’s approval and praise more than anything. He saw Obi-Wan as a practically perfect individual, and he hated when he disappointed him. “What do you have to say for yourself?” He asked, giving the boy his chance to explain himself.
Anakin felt absolutely awful. “I’m sorry, Master!” Anakin tried weakly, yelping when Obi-Wan sighed softly and spanked him once again.
“I’m sure you will be, little one.” Obi-Wan said, continuing to spank his padawan in an unpredictable pattern so he couldn’t tell where the next one would land.
He wanted him to focus on his wrongdoings and how he could improve upon them in the future, rather than where each swat would land next.
Then, it was silent. Well, obviously besides the loud sound of Obi-Wan’s palm meeting Anakin’s pale posterior, and Anakin’s reactionary yelps.
“Oww! Ouch! OWW! Ah!” Anakin cried out, kicking his legs. Obi-Wan would let him kick, knowing that spankings hurt quite a lot. However, he would put one of his legs over both of Anakin’s if it began to become a problem. He was well experienced at this point.
“I never want to find out that you are not where I told you to be ever again, Anakin. When I see that you aren’t where I left you, sometimes I cannot help but to panic and worry. You are only 13, and our line of work is nothing to take lightly, so worse case scenarios aren’t as uncommon for us. Not only is sneaking out without telling anyone where you are going dangerous, it is also disobedient and disrespectful.” Obi-Wan scolded, his swats picking up speed.
Anakin yelped, tears springing to his eyes as the pain was really setting in now. Obi-Wan made sure to give proper attention to Anakin’s sit spots, hardening his heart and deafening his ears to Anakin’s heartbreaking cries. He was going to make sure Anakin wouldn’t be sitting comfortably for a while, that was for certain.
Once Anakin’s bottom was a nice shade of pink, Obi-Wan paused. Anakin sniffled, tears rolling down his cheeks. Was it over?
Suddenly, his question was answered as he felt the tap of a flat surface across his bottom. He gasped, eyes widening as he realized what was happening. ‘Not the hairbrush!’ Anakin thought nervously.
“Yes, the hairbrush.” Obi-Wan responded calmly. Anakin groaned. “No! No no no, wait! Master, please don’t use that! I’m sorry! Really, I am!” Anakin cried out, kicking his legs wildly now.
Obi-Wan effortlessly used one of his legs to pin down both of Anakin’s smaller ones as if nothing had even happened. “Anakin, who decides when your punishment is thoroughly finished?” He asked.
A soft sob left Anakin’s throat as his head fell in sad resignation. “Y-You.” He answered. With that, Obi-Wan began landing swift swats all across Anakin’s backside.
Anakin’s wails became louder, as well as his bawling. “OWW! OWWW! AAAH!! OWWW!!” He hollered. After 20 more swats with the hairbrush, ten to Anakin’s bottom and ten to his undercurve, Obi-Wan set the hairbrush down and fixed the boy’s clothes.
He gently rubbed his back for a moment before sitting Anakin up in his lap, arms warmly wrapped around him. Anakin sobbed against his master’s shoulder, clinging to him and soaking up the comfort he was being lovingly provided with.
“It’s alright, Anakin. It’s okay, you are forgiven. Easy now. Breathe, little one. Shhh…match my breathing. In. Out. There you go, good boy. Shhh…” Obi-Wan cooed softly, soothingly running his hand through Anakin’s hair as he rubbed his back with the other one.
Soon, Anakin’s sobs and cries had died down to sniffles and the occasional hiccup. Anakin played with a loose string on Obi-Wan’s shirt, his head still resting on his shoulder. Obi-Wan reached into his pocket and took out a fresh tissue, gently wiping the boy’s wet eyes and tear-streaked cheeks.
“I believe lunch is in order, yes?” Obi-Wan asked, smiling as Anakin’s eyes lit up. He loved Obi-Wan’s cooking, after all. “Yes, master.” Anakin returned the smile.
“You may wash up and meditate until it is ready, I’ll allow you to read a nice book as another option as well.” Obi-Wan said, standing them both to their feet and leaning down, pressing a soft kiss to the boy’s forehead. Before he could leave the room, Anakin lightly tugged on Obi-Wan’s robe.
“Master, can I cook lunch with you? Please?” He asked. Obi-Wan gently grinned down at his padawan. “Yes, I suppose you can. Come along, then.” Obi-Wan said, wrapping an arm around Anakin’s shoulder’s and leading him down the hallway towards the kitchen.
