"Tony... you will not believe what I saw on my trip this week." Jaime spoke with a wide smile on his face as he opened one of the many bags of chips they'd brought specifically for this hangout. He'd just gotten back from a trip Tony wasn't told much about before Jaime left, but now it seemed to be all he wanted to talk about. For a trip so eventful, he was surprised the band wasn't invited. If anything, Tony was surprised he wasn't invited. It almost made him a little jealous he'd missed out on so much time with him.
To put it lightly, Tony was distracted throughout the entirety of Jaime's story. He talked... and talked... and talked... but he just couldn't get himself to completely listen. He kind of just sat there beside him, admiring every little aspect of him. Every crease and line in his face, how they'd change whenever he spoke and smiled at him, the slight arch of his nose, the way he did his hair messier than he normally would today; he was in his own world until Jaime's words shot him back to Earth.
"I mean... that's just so crazy right??" Jaime looked at Tony, scanning his face for any form of amusement from the story he'd just told him. He wasn't getting anything, which just slightly concerned him. Soon coming to the realization that he had to reply, Tony was quick to find something to say. "Oh... yeah. That's really crazy." Was all he could come up with.
It was subtle, but Jaime was catching on to Tony's dazed out behavior. ' He's so much more responsive whenever I tell him my stories... ' He was almost a little worried Tony was losing interest. That he didn't find him as interesting as he did before.
"Hey dude, you good?" Jaime asked him out of pure concern. He tilted his chip bag towards him, indirectly offering him some since he felt a little guilty about forgetting to earlier. "What? Yeah. I'm okay." Tony looked down at Jaime's generous offer and took a few chips from the bag, holding a few in his opposite hand while pushing a few in his mouth. "I'm just... I dunno." He started, the food in his mouth slightly muffling his words. How does he explain something like this to someone he feels so strongly for?
"Come on man... talk to me!" Jaime spoke with another grin across his face in an attempt to soothe his nerves. It once again made certain aspects of his face crease. Tony really enjoyed that trait of his, it was something he always took notice of when he was in a daze.
"Well... I've just been everywhere you know? Like, I've been feeling all these crazy things." He was really beating around the bush, and he hated the fact that he was making Jaime wait, but he truly didn't know how to say this to him. He took a few chips from his hand and ate them before he continued speaking. "It's just, it's something about you . It feels like I need to know every detail about you... like I always need to be around you and stick to you like glue." Tony blurted out his words in one quick breath, indirectly hinting at his jealousy about Jaime's trip. "Have you ever felt something like that?"
Jaime was shocked to say the least. There was now the slightest hint of a smile on his face as he was calibrating Tony's words and thinking about how to reply to something like that. Unlike Tony, he wasn't going to beat around the bush.
"Well yeah, sure I have," Jaime paused "but the last time I felt something as genuine as that, I was in love with someone." He looked up into Tony's eyes, making sure his expression was genuine so that he didn't think he was fucking with him. "What, are you in love with me?" Jaime's words came out teasingly, but there was an obvious sense of seriousness in his facial expression.
The thought of Tony being in love with him made him want to smile far bigger than he's ever had before. The thought of being his boyfriend instead of just a close friend or a bandmate. Being on that intimate of a level sounded so appealing to him. Being able to touch him in all the places he's only dreamt of, and caring for him far more deeply than anyone else was capable of. That sounded like a jackpot to him, meanwhile Tony couldn't process how Jaime could've caught on so quickly. Was it that obvious? He wasn't even sure if 'love' was even the only word to describe his feelings.
"Well.. that's one way to put it." Tony ate the rest of the chips in his hand and wiped his hands that were littered with chip seasoning and salty sweat on his pants. Love. Loving him. Loving him felt like such a luxury in itself. Even though he felt that saying he 'loved him' was too plain of a way to explain it, it was pretty damn close.
"So you love me? You're in love with me?" Jaime spoke almost immediately, filled with anticipation, and before Tony could answer, he added onto his words. "Don't say anything funny like 'I feel strongly for you' either. Seriously Tony, just give it to me straight." Jaime's hands went to Tony's wrists and his eyes nearly widened from the contact. It was felt so different. Not enough to feel foreign, but too comforting to be just friendly.
"Uh... yeah. I'm in love with you." He put emphasis on 'in' since Jaime did. He wanted to see Jaime's reaction, but he felt compelled to add more. That just didn't feel like enough to him. "It feels like so much more than that though, yknow? I'm not just in love with you, it's like... im infatuated by you. Like you put me in a trance." Tony felt like a sap, and that made him feel insanely embarrassed, but it was slightly relieving to get his mixed emotions off his chest.
"Well... that's even better for me, yeah?" One of Jaime's hands moved from Tony's wrist up the length of his arm, caressing it gently. He was experimenting, seeing just how far he could go. "I'm in love with you too, Tone." His eyes softened as he looked at him, and Tony almost mimicked him for the sake of the moment.
"Oh, okay so..." Tony looked down at his arms, his face warming up at both the realization that Jaime had in fact been feeling for him the way he had been, and the feeling of Jaime's hands on him, caressing his skin so gently and delicately. It all felt so surreal.
"So we're official! Like, the real deal ." Jaime bragged, leaning towards Tony's face, but not acting on anything yet. "Well... even if it's a secret. It's the real deal to me." And with those words, his lips finally found their way to Tony's.
The kiss wasn't dragged out too long, but it wasn't too short either. Just long enough to send the right amount of shock through him. It was barely long enough for Tony to get his eyes shut. By the time the kiss was over, it was apparent in Tony's face that the short kiss left him shocked yet underwhelmed, but he didn't outwardly say it.
"Your lips are chapped." Tony pointed out, remembering the feeling of Jaime's lips on his; the way his rugged lips lightly scratched against his much softer ones. It made him yearn to feel the slight uncomfortability again. Jaime put his finger up to his lips as if he didn't believe Tony, and the corners of his lips slightly drooped when he felt his own rough lips.
"Jeez, my bad." Jaime sighed out. Tony didn't really understand why such a small thing was bothering him so much. Small things didn't really seem to bother him any other time, but he thought he should be a little considerate. "Don't apologize... it's just something I noticed." The nerves in his voice were evident. He was just so anxious for another kiss from him, to feel his lips on his no matter how soft or how rough they were. "Do you wanna try again?" It was more of an indirect ask than a question, considering how restless he was feeling. "Yeah... I think I'd like that." Jaime didn't bother fixing his chapped lips and went right ahead when Tony made the ask.
Their lips connected again when one of Jaime's hands tangled into Tony's knots of hair in a quick movement. The kiss was much more passionate than the previous one, and Tony made it a point to try and moisten up Jaime's lips so they weren't as dry as they were before. He liked the thought of leaving his taste on him, at least temporarily.
Soon enough, the kiss broke apart, and their eyes were quick to land on each others. "Tony... that was so hot." Was the first thing Jaime could get out. As he spoke, he twirled some of Tony's hair around a finger that had gotten lost in his head of hair during the kiss. "You think?" He was almost a little flattered by his comment. He didn't find himself to be the greatest kisser, and being praised by Jaime felt better than anything else.
"I know ," A laugh escaped Jaime's lips, which made him pause in between his sentence "Maybe I could sneak a few more in later... but still have some more stories to tell you! You seriously have to pay attention this time, I didn't even get to tell you the best one." And just like that, his lighthearted playfulness was back. It was admirable to Tony how he knew exactly how to act at any given moment and never be awkward about it.
"Oh come on, I'm still not convinced this random trip was better than anything else we've done together." Tony scoffed, budging Jaime's shoulder with his own as an excuse to get closer to him as he rolled his eyes. In reality, his trip really wasn't all that great, Jaime just really knew how to mess with Tony. He'd gotten some of his storytelling expertise from Vic.
"Oh it totally was, swing on this..." and before Tony knew it, he was listening to another one of Jaime's heavily exaggerated stories. This time though, he was actually paying attention. Well, somewhat paying attention. He was still so easily distracted by his boyfriend's little traits.
