My muse.

Summary:

Youngmi is an upcoming bassit for a band led by her friend, Thanos. When Youngmi finishes a show that Hyunju seemed to attend, Hyunju is curious to see if her girlfriend has written any songs, as she is now a full-time musician.

Notes:

for my rockstar youngmi truthers!!

(a bit suggestive near the end)

Work Text:

Youngmi's fingers carefully slid across her bass, hitting all the right notes beautifully as the crowd cheered and screamed for more.

A smile was soon painted across Youngmi's face as she looked over to her friend Thanos. His voice echoed throughout the stadium as he spat the words of his self-written rap into the mic.

The two exchanged looks before Thanos made his way over to Youngmi, throwing his arm around the girls shoulder, but not too rough, as she still continued to play the bass.

"Give it up for our bassit, Youngmi!" Thanos yells into the mic. The crowd soon erupts into more cheers.

Youngmi giggled as she looked at the crowd. There was a sea of people, many holding up their phones to either take pictures, or to turn their flashlights on. One person, however, caught her attention.

Hyunju.

Her beautiful girlfriend.

The taller woman of the crowd was wearing a shorter, white, lacey dress with a leather jacket, accompanied with a thin bow, necklace, laced up boots and her tiny purse. Youngmi always teased her for the purse, as she believed that Hyunju couldn't fit anything in there.

The bassit smiled, sending her girlfriend a wink as she went back to focusing on her upcoming solo. Although Youngmi loved the feeling of being on stage, she couldn't help but be excited to soon be in her girlfriends arms. It was her favorite place, after all.

"Don't worry, guys. There are still many songs left! So, drink your drinks, smoke your cigarettes, and let's fucking party!"

The concert was soon over, and many people were leaving, while some fans stayed in the arena as they had their VIP benefits. They all waited in a line to meet the members and take pictures with them. Youngmi always loved this part, as talking to the fans was such a fun experience for her.

The event coordinators soon started to direct fans to the stage where they would one by one meet and take pictures with the band. Youngmi recieved many compliments for her solos and short singing moments, which she appreciated very much. Youngmi wasn't very confident with her singing voice, but after hearing fans say that she was good, always seemed to warm her heart.

The band came up with many different poses as fans started to take pictures with them. Youngmi's go-to poses consisted of peace signs, hearts, and fake kisses towards the fan.

It was eventually the last fans turn, which happened to be a very familiar woman--Hyunju.

"Well, look who it is!" Thanos grinned. "We have a super-fan here. Right, Youngmi?"

Youngmi rolls her eyes playfully before making her way over to the woman, and wrapping her arms around Hyunju, pressing a kiss to her chest.

"Hey, hey! No PDA with fans!" Thanos adds, earning giggles from the other band mates.

Youngmi jokingly flips off a laughing Thanos before turning her full attention back to her girlfriend. "Hi baby."

"Hi sweetheart," Hyunju lets out a chuckle, rubbing Youngmi's back. "Can I get a picture with you guys?"

Youngmi looks up at Hyunju with a loving look in her eyes and a lazy smile on her face. "Of course. I love to take pictures with you."

Taking Hyunju's hand, Youngmi brings her girlfriend over to her band mates for a few pictures. Thanos cheers and thanks Hyunju for the support, which makes Hyunju giggle and nod before getting ready for the photo.

Youngmi and Hyunju eventually help the band with loading their equipment into their large truck. Youngmi decided to load her bass into the truck, as the others were going to drop off the equipment back at their studio. Youngmi was going to help, but Thanos reassured the girl that it would be okay, and that she should spend time with Hyunju.

Feeling grateful, Youngmi thanked Thanos for the deal and the night. Youngmi and Hyunju soon decided to take off, making their way over to Hyunju's car. Hyunju had claimed to be the driver as Youngmi was 'too tired' to do so. Without arguing back, Youngmi decided that it wouldn't hurt to be the passenger this time.

The two eventually made their way onto the road. The radio played their regular 80s music at a low volume, while Hyunju hummed along to the melody, her hand resting on Youngmi's thigh.

Youngmi felt relaxed, the tiredness soon reaching her eyes. However, she tried to fight off the feeling, as she needed to spend time with Hyunju--that was her main priority.

"So, how are you feeling after that gig? It seemed like the audience loved you guys," Hyunju speaks, her eyes focused on the road ahead.

"I feel good!" Youngmi lifts her head up after resting it on the car window, glancing at her girlfriend. "I'm really happy that people enjoy our music. I'm really grateful that Thanos wanted me in the band."

Hyunju smiles as her girlfriend talks, occasionally looking at her. "I'm really proud of you. You know that?"

Youngmi suddenly feels her cheeks heating up and her heart beat a little bit faster than before. Clearing her throat, she speaks. "Thank you, baby. I'm really happy everything I see you in the crowd," Youngmi smiles, letting out a relaxed sigh. "And that outfit you're wearing tonight. It looks really good on you."

"Oh, stop it." Hyunju lets a laugh escape past her lips. "You know I had to dress up for you."

Youngmi bites her lip, a smirk soon appears on her face. "Ah, don't say stuff like that. You're such a flirt."

Hyunju grins. She loved making her girlfriend flustered, and was quite good at it. "Oops."

The two of them soon made it to Hyunju's house. Youngmi decided she would stay the night, as it would be too late to get home, and she didn't want to make Hyunju drive during those hours. Luckily, Youngmi had her pajamas and toothbrush at Hyunju's house, as she was here most of the time.

"You go get changed, okay? I'll order us some food," Hyunju says, placing her car keys on the counter. "You want your regular order?"

"Yes please," Youngmi smiles, leaning her case on the wall. "You're the best. I love you~"

"Go get changed, sweetheart." Hyunju shakes her head, hiding her huge smile from Youngmi.

Youngmi giggles before making her way to Hyunju's room. Walking over to the closet, Youngmi grabs her pajamas--it was a basic blue set with pants and a button up shirt. It always felt nice to change out of her nice outfits and into something more comfortable, as she was always exhausted at the end of her gigs.

Youngmi quickly took her phone out of her pocket, placing it carefully on the desk beside her. Before changing, Youngmi noticed a message from Thanos:

'Thanks for the awesome night! Fans r loving you!'

'Thank you for today! I owe it all to you 🤘'

'See ya tomorrow, Young-star'

Youngmi smiles as she sends the message. She was seriously thankful for the opportunity that was presented to her. It seemed unreal. Her life felt perfect as she had a beautiful, wonderful, and amazing girlfriend, followed by a semi-popular band. It was everything to Youngmi.

Youngmi eventually changed out of her clothes and into pajamas before making her way out to the main area of Hyunju's home. Hyunju changed as well, as she was now in her silk, pink pajamas. The ones that Youngmi adored.

The couple snuggled on the couch, talking about anything that crossed their mind, up until the delivery-man was there with their food. The two of them decided to eat at the coffee table that sat in the living room, as it was more comfortable there compared to the dining area.

"Chicken is probably one of the best things ever. You can add all these seasonings and sauce to it.. and it makes it soooo much better." Youngmi rambles on, biting into her fried chicken. "It's just so awesome."

Hyunju smiles brightly as she watches her girlfriend chow-down into her food. Anything Youngmi did was adorable to Hyunju, even the smallest things, it didn't matter. "You're so cute."

Youngmi looks over at a giggling Hyunju, as Youngmi's cheeks are covered with sauce and bits of chicken. "What?"

Hyunju grabs a napkin from the paper bag, carefully wiping the mess from her face, which earns an embarrassed groan from Youngmi. "I'm such a messy eater."

"Yes, you are," Hyunju finishes up, quickly placing a kiss to Youngmi's forehead. "But it's cute."

Hyunju and Youngmi soon clean up the area and decide to rest on the couch. Youngmi rests her head on Hyunju's shoulder, trying her best not to fall asleep, although Hyunju said that it was okay to.

"You're tired, love. It's okay to fall asleep. Your body is telling you to rest." Hyunju says softly, rubbing circles on the back of Youngmi's hand.

"I wanna spend time with you, though." Youngmi whines playfully, earning a laugh from Hyunju.

"You're a rockstar now. Rockstars need rest, right?" Hyunju says, squeezing her girlfriends hand carefully.

"I think rockstars are the people in the world who get the least amount of sleep." Youngmi jokes.

Hyunju places another kiss atop Youngmi's head, as she gives her hand another squeeze. "Since you don't want to sleep.. I have something for you."

Youngmi raises her head up suddenly, making immediate eye contact with her girlfriend. A curious look is now plastered on her face. "Oh? And what may that be?"

Hyunju smiles as she gets up, turning to her girlfriend for a moment. "Wait here. I'll get it from my room. Oh God, I hope you didn't see it while you were in there.."

As Hyunju disappears, a thousand thoughts run through Youngmi's mind. She loved surprises, but she couldn't help but feel curious as to what it could be. The woman didn't see anything while she was in Hyunju's room, or at least she thinks she didn't.

"Okay, close your eyes!" Hyunju shouts from her room. "And I'm serious! No peaking!"

Youngmi let's out a laugh, closing her eyes. "They're closed, I swear!"

The curious woman could hear footsteps getting closer to her, which made her more curious. She could practically feel Hyunju above her as her girlfriend took a moment before speaking.

"Okay.. open your eyes!" Hyunju says excitedly.

Youngmi slowly opens her eyes, looking directly at her girlfriend. Hyunju held an acoustic guitar in her hand--it was beautiful. It was a soft, light brown, with a little moon design engraved near the neck.

Youngmi's jaw was on the ground. Her vision soon became blurry, as tears of joy pricked her eyes. "Oh my God.."

"Do you like it?" Hyunju asks softly, afraid that the guitar wasn't quite good enough for her girlfriend.

"I.." Youngmi pauses, now standing up. "Love it!"

Hyunju releases the breath that she had been holding for a moment, a smile now painted across her face. Youngmi's arm soon wrapped around Hyunju's waist as she went in for a side-hug.

"When did you get this?" Youngmi questioned.

"A few weeks ago. I wanted to give it to you on a big day like this so you could know how proud I am of you." Hyunju replied.

Youngmi feels her heart beat fast once more. She had never quite felt love like this before. After not being fully accepted by people whom she considered close to her, she couldn't help but feel emotional for love like this. In the past, Youngmi felt guilty for who she was and who she loved. But ever since she met Hyunju, she never felt that way. All she felt was love. Pure love.

Standing up on her tippy toes, Youngmi gives Hyunju a delicate kiss on the lips. "I love you. Thank you so much."

Hyunju feels herself blushing as it is now her turn to become flustered. "Of course, baby. How about you play something? I would love to hear how it sounds. You might have to tune it, though.."

Youngmi carefully takes the guitar from Hyunju, before strumming it. The sound was terrible as it was out of tune, causing the couple to cringe. "Oh yeah. Let me tune that first."

Youngmi now sits on the couch with Hyunju. The guitar was finally in tune and sounded way better than before. Youngmi looks over to her girlfriend. Hyunju looked ethereal with her slightly messy hair, and her bare face. Youngmi couldn't help but stare.

Clearing her throat, Youngmi spoke. "So, what song do you want me to play?"

Hyunju thinks for a moment, but can't seem to find a specific song in her mind. "Whichever song is currently on your mind, dear. I would love to hear anything you play."

Youngmi suddenly feels nervous.

She had a song on her mind. Well, it had been on her mind for months, yet never sang it in front of Hyunju. However, now could potentially be the chance.

"Well, I have one.." Youngmi starts, earning a look from Hyunju. "But it isn't quite finished.. yet.."

"Oh! It's something you wrote?" Hyunju perks up, an excited look on her face. "Even if it isn't fully done, I would still love to hear it. If you want to sing it, of course. No pressure, sweetheart."

Youngmi let's out a quiet chuckle, quietly tapping her fingers on the guitar. "Yeah, it's something I wrote. I wanna perform it! I just feel nervous.."

"How come?" Hyunju asks, relaxing into her spot.

"Ah, it's just.. I get nervous about my writing. I don't know if you'll like it." Youngmi speaks, occasionally glancing at Hyunju.

"I will love anything you write!" Hyunju reassures her, followed by a smile.

Youngmi smiles, nodding towards her girlfriend. "Alright, here's a sneak peek."

Youngmi places her fingers on the neck of her guitar, soon beginning to strum the strings, releasing a soft melody from the instrument.

The song starts with just an instrumental, as Youngmi mentally prepares herself to sing in front of Hyunju (although she had just done this on stage).

Youngmi's voice comes out in a delicate tone. The words escape her lips effortlessly, leaving Hyunju in awe as she looks at her girlfriend lovingly.

The words reflect a love story, where two girls meet and eventually fall in love, mirroring the couple that sat on Hyunju's couch. The story continues on into the pre-chorus, where one of the girls doubts her beauty, but the other girl explains how she is like a painting in a museum--she can never take her eyes off of this painting.

Hyunju soon realizes that the song reflects her and Youngmi's story. The words match certain feelings that Hyunju had resonated with, and one of the girls mimicked the way Youngmi acts--how she cares deeply for Hyunju and always assures her that she's beautiful.

Hyunju couldn't help but tear up as she listens to Youngmi's gentle voice. The words are perfect and so is the melody. She couldn't help but wonder how she got so lucky with Youngmi, but perhaps that is something she would never have an answer to.

Youngmi eventually fades into the end of the song, her fingers strumming the last few notes before fully ending the song. Her eyes soon meet Hyunju's teary ones, causing her to frown slightly. "Was it that bad?" Youngmi jokes.

"Oh, stop it." Hyunju lets out a loud laugh, wiping her eyes. "You wrote a song about me?"

Youngmi rests the guitars back against the arm of the couch, the bottom of it touching the floor. "Who else would I write about?"

Hyunju practically crawls over to Youngmi, wrapping her arms around her girlfriend as she kisses her neck. "You're the best. You're so talented. How did I get so lucky finding you?"

Youngmi let's out a quiet giggle, her neck tingling at the feeling of Hyunju's lips. "I should be asking you that- You're tickling me!"

Youngmi and Hyunju's giggles are now in harmony. The two girls look at each other, their smiles matching each other's as Youngmi manages to push Hyunju down on the couch, climing on top of her girlfriend, and pressing kisses to her face.

"Now you're tickling me!" Hyunju speaks through quick giggles, her eyes closing as she laughs.

Youngmi eventually stops the kisses, the two of them now looking at each other. Their heavy breathing is the only sound within Hyunju's home, aside from the giggling.

"I love you," Hyunju eventually let's out, her hands now resting on Youngmi's thighs. "So much."

"I love you more." Youngmi says, her hands on Hyunju's.

The two go quiet for a moment as they look at each other, still catching their breath from laughing and tickling.

Hyunju breaks the silence. "So, what now?"

Youngmi tilts her head. "I'm not sure. You have anything in mind that you wanna do?"

Hyunju can't help but smirk as she looks up at her girlfriend. Her hands gently squeeze Youngmi's thighs. "I want you to kiss me again."

Youngmi smiles, her eyes looking at Hyunju's neck before making eye contact with her girlfriend once more.

"You don't have to say that twice."
